Action/Video - Fayren [Halloween's Terror]

[Video]

Stay away!

[Levy's running from her store when her nightmare catches up with her. Her feet trip over themselves sending her crashing towards the cold ground. Her phone drops from her hand, her attempts to call for help useless and yet the video feed begins to play. Those watching see the blue haired girl with stains on her cheeks and dirt covering her dress, there is fear in her gaze as she turns back to look at who’s chasing her.

A low chuckle can be heard but before the man chasing her comes into view the feed ends.]

[Cont: Action]

You forgot? Let me remind you.

[The words are thick and heavy, a cruel note to his tone as he slowly steps closer. Levy shakes her head, her heart aching knowing that she forgot her friend. It doesn't matter if they weren't close. He had told her to be strong, to keep fighting and yet she let the memory slip away thinking of some greater good.

Is it even worth it?]

I didn't mean to.

[Except she did, there is no undoing it. Tears freely begin to streak down her face as the Redfox steps closer. Each moment only adding to the fear and pain she held in her heart, knowing what she’s done; Levy doesn't even try to escape.]

[Junpei recognized her face right away. To see her in such a state concerned him. If he needed to come rescue her, he will do so in a heartbeat. It was just the cool guy thing to do.]

"What? H-hey, what's wrong? Aren't you that girl on the communicator the other day?"

[Levy hears the voice near her ear. She turns and picks up the device without even looking at the speaker.]

Y-yes.

[Her voice trembles as she scrambles to her feet.]

I'm being chased... he's hunting me... I forgot him.

[Her voice cracks and she begins to cry.]

[Junpei knows better than to get involved with anything hostile outside of the Dark Hour. But if the Dark Hour is absent, what else does he have? He lost everything else being pulled here. If anything were to happen to him, it might as well be doing something good and going out in a blaze of glory.]

"Who's hunting you?! Where are you? I'll come get you!"

[Levy pants softly, the camera pointed more at her neck than any other part of her.]

Near by bookstore.

[There is a voice that echoes from behind her.]

No one can save you

[Good thing he had a map, otherwise he could end up somewhere else. Junpei didn't answer right away as she retrieved his katana and evoker. A lot of good the evoker would do, but at least being gun-shaped should could scare.]

"I'm coming, Levy-san! Get out of sight and I'll call when I get there!

[Levy's voice is heavy and trembling.]

I'll try.

[She doesn't know how far she cane move but she's slowly trying her best. The daunting figure continues to move forward as her feet stumble forward.]

[Action]

[Junpei had been in Fayren for awhile now, following the map the best he can and only getting lost a few times. But eventually, he did find the bookstore Levy had mentioned. After a moment to catch his breath and check his equipment, Junpei looked around for Levy before he pulled out his communicator and fiddled with it to broadcast to Levy.]

[Video/Audio if he messed up]

"Levy-san? It's Junpei. I'm at the bookstore. Where are you?"

[She hears her phone but doesn't answer her feet push her forward. The ground flying away and beneath her as she ran. A haunting laugh echoes behind her and it seems no matter how far she run she can't get away.

Levy takes a sharp turn running back towards the bookshop. Even after seeing Junpei she doesn't stop. She runs right into him only stopping because she doesn't want to collide with him. There are tear stains falling down her cheeks as she looks up at him.]

Please... he's coming... he's following me.

[Well, this got awesome and awkward at the same time very quickly. With Levy so close, Junpei didn't know if he should hold her or move her behind him so he can protect her.
Eventually, Junpei's sputtering arms gently gripped Levy's shoulder to create a less awkward distance between them.]

"H-Hey, calm down. I won't let him get to ya, but ya need to tell me what the heck is going on."

[Levy doesn't seem t bothered by distance. She shakes her head feeling fresh tears falling from her eyes.]

He's chasing me... he's going to kill me... I forgot him.

[She shakes her head, her fingers lacing together while her head lowered. Behind her a figure can be seen exiting the brush. He looks like a man with long black hair except his skin is made of metal.]

[But Levy's such a sweet girl! What kind of person would want to kill someone who looks as though she wouldn't even risk hurting a fly? He tried the best he could to try to calm Levy down, but he was essentially clueless on the matter. He could only think to just talk to her.]

"I'm not going to let him kill you, OK?"

[Junpei couldn't make that a promise. He has far too much stacked against him at the moment; no allies, no idea what he's up against, a huge katana he sometimes has trouble wielding and possibly no Persona.

Junpei's attention went to the brush. The high schooler was thoroughly freaked out when he took note of the metallic appearance of his body. He couldn't help but be reminded of a common Shadow with a similar appearance.]

"I-Is that him?"

[Levy doesn't even look behind her. She shakes her head while her heart continues to thunder in her chest. She can hear his laugh, his voice and she believes the cruel words spilling from his lips.]

You can't run. You'll pay for what you did and no one will miss you. Who could miss someone who forgets their friends?

[The young mage begins to tremble as the words pierce her heart.]

You're weak after all

[The Redfox's arm turns into a tube of steel and it's aim for the pair of them.]

[Junpei pulled Levy in close and wrapped his arms tightly around her, taking her with him as he dives to the side out of the way of the steel tube flying right at them. They would hit the ground, but Junpei hopefully cushioned her fall.

Junpei rolled back to his feet, fixing his cap and brandishing his large katana.]

"Get somewhere safe, Levy-san. I'll take care of him."

[All though, Junpei has no idea how he'll single-handedly take down someone who looks like a Shadow, and can't tell what he is. Having Fuuka or Mitsuru to give him details would be so welcomed right now... Nevertheless, Junpei assumed a baseball batter's stance with his katana in hand, showing how unrefined his combat style is as he addressed the big mean metal man.]

"Hey you! You glorified trash can! Come pick on someone who ain't afraid of ya!"

[Levy closes her eyes, feeling Junpei's arms and then the wind as they fall to the ground. It's probably a good thing that he moved them because there is a large gash across the earth where his attack landed.]

I can't leave you here.

[Except she can't fight Gajeel either.

She looks at the back of Jumpei's head as he stands between her and the steel sheen of the Redfox. The man just chuckles as if dismissing Junpei all together.]

I'll come back to kill you but she's first.

[His eyes flash steel as she jumps towards them.]

[Junpei saw the damage Gajeel's attack caused and this really made him rethink for a moment. He wasn't going to budge though, instead considering a last resort action. If Levy wasn't going to leave for her own safety, he might as well talk to her.]

"Hey... What if I told ya shooting myself in the head could save us both?"

[As he asked, Junpei was reaching for the evoker on his belt. He was forced to bring both hands back to his katana's handle as Gajeel jumped at them. He readied his sword, waited for a good moment when Gajeel was close enough, then took a swing like a baseball batter.]

What?

[How is that a good idea?! How's that even going to help?!

Levy is now staring at Junpie like he's crazy. Of course, being in Fair Tail she's seen some pretty crazy stuff and yet it never stops surprising her. She looks over just as Gajeel and Junpie meet. His strike pushes the metal man back but it seems to have done nothing else to deter him.

Levy steps up next to Junpie and pulls at her friends arm.]

We run! Together. I'm not shooting you!

"I'm not asking ya to shoot me."

[Junpei pulled himself from Levy's grasp and moved ahead of her, drawing his evoker from his belt.
Since this could very well end in a mistake, Junpei figured to do this quickly. He raised the evoker to his head, barrel at his temple.]

"Persona!"

[He pulled the trigger and with a bang, bluish glass-like energy erupted from the other side of his head and flew out in front of him, coming together to materialize into a imposing, armored figure.
For the time being, it looks like Junpei is in a sort of trance while the Persona, Hermes, looked ready to deny Gajeel his prize.]

[Levy's eyes widened as the creature came forth from Junpie. She has no idea what this is but she assumes it's some strange form of magic. She looks over at Gajeel who doesn't seem all that phased by the creature.]

Metal huh?

[The illusion knowns no better and as he leaps for the persona he's doing so with hit teeth hoping to tear away at the metal looking creature. Steel gives Gajeel strength.]

Wait!

[Levy's trying to process everything and seeing the battle begin she can't sit back and do nothing. Though she can't fight Gajeel either. The best she can do is keep him away. She puts her hands together and then fans them to either side.]

Hole!

[The word spells across the ground and before Gajeel can see it he missteps crashing downwards, giving the armored figure a chance to attack.]
