[Video/Action in Fayren]
[Video]
Fayren knows how to throw a party. They should do it more often, but that's probably more work than they want to do.
[He doesn't get the obsession with Hallow's Week, but it was fun and that's all that mattered to him.]
[He lifts up his head to say something else, and freezes, his irises going small and the smirk fading. He doesn't sound scared yet, but it's clear he's disturbed by whatever he's seeing.]
What... How are you--
[Action]
[This isn't just a memory. Gray can feel the ground tremble under the massive demon. The air stirs every time Deliora growls. With a muscular frame, the demon towers over some of the moderately sized buildings in Fayren. He has a human-like face, but a white mane and set of horns frame his eyes, which are empty, showing nothing but a desire to kill.]
[Why can't he move?
The surrounding buildings are no longer upright, but are the ones in Brago. He's aware of how this ends. But he can't move, can't do anything to stop it. There are tears pricking at the corners of his eyes, but he barely registers it. He thought this was over. What about Ur's sacrifice? What did that mean for her?
He's still trapped somewhere between the illusion that's visible to everyone and his own memories. He's horrified, but also angry. Ur didn't sacrifice herself for this. A flicker of the light which signifies Deliora is about to use his magic beams snaps him out of it so that he can react.]

Zeref sighed. Of all the things he could be accused of, not being a man of his word isn't one of them. He had made a deal with Erza: In exchange for him being notified the moment any of his books appeared here, he would keep them in line as best he could. It was all he could muster to convince Mard Geer that Fairy Tail wasn't the enemy here; rather, it was whoever, or whatever had brought them all here.
He would do the same with the Demon of Destruction. }
That's enough, Deliora.
{ Zeref's voice rang out. He was standing on a rooftop, his eyes hidden from view. }
I didn't create you to destroy this world.
{ Something was wrong. He shouldn't be able to be brought here. This didn't even really feel like one of his demons, and there was no way in hell Deliora would have fit in one of those pods. What was going on here? }
[ action ]
Mind made up, he was preparing to cast a powerful Ice Make attack. He hadn't really been paying attention to Zeref's words, just his presence, but even he was surprised that Deliora seemed to respond by aiming for the powerful Mage.]
Get away from there! [He was running to Zeref's location, but he didn't have enough time. He cast his Ice Make magic to form a shield around Zeref before changing his path and sending a flurry of swords at the demon. Once he was closer, he'd be able to form larger weapons to send at Deliora.]
[ action ] 1/2
Only one Etherious is able to kill me, Deliora. Only one whom I wish to take my life. And it isn't you. { Zeref isn't surprised Deliora tried to attack him. Mard Geer figured out why all of his demons have it hardwired into their very instincts to wish to "return to" their creator. Even Sayla didn't seem to understand why, and when he told her, she became depressed, seeing herself as a failure. Normally, he wouldn't have cared. But after having some time to actually bond with her, he actually had enough compassion to tell her not to blame herself. She had more than proven herself since then. Perhaps if things worked out differently in their own world...
Zeref's eyes narrowed. Gray's shield did the job, but it was vaporized on impact. When the dust cleared, the building Zeref had been standing on beginning to crumble, Zeref's voice rang out again; he was now on the street opposite the building, as if he had been standing there all along. }
You shouldn't even be capable of questioning my orders, let alone defying them. { He lacked any sentience. He wasn't Mard Geer, or any of the Nine Demon Gates, and he sure as hell wasn't E.N.D. } Fine. You leave me no choice. You're going back into your Book until I can decide what to do with you.
{ Zeref raised one of his hands, and snapped his fingers. }

What--...? Impossible...
{ Zeref was briefly stunned. That's not... He created Deliora. He knows exactly how to summon him, and how to "de-"summon him. If he could do it to a demon several times more powerful than him, then... Why wasn't it working? Zeref took a step back. Was he losing control over his Living Magic, too?
He felt his eyes changing. Shifting from their usual, pupil-less black color into a bright red, his small pupils surrounded by a black ring, Zeref tensed. No... Not now. He couldn't lose control now... He created Deliora. He exists because Zeref allowed it. He lives because of the words Zeref put to paper.
... Deliora had to die. }
Gray. Keep him busy. When I give the signal... Get as far away from him as you possibly can.
{ The very air around Zeref began shifting, as black, miasmic energy began swirling around him. Even the colors near him began inverting, before shifting back. }
[ action ] almost 2 months later
[Seriously, what was he doing? Gray's jaw clenched; there wasn't enough time to help Zeref. He could only try to distract Deliora and hope the shield would hold. It had been more of a gamble, but he was surprised, and even stopped what he was doing to see what Zeref was planning to do once the dust was gone.
Having Zeref around would have been convenient in the past. He's irritated, and part of that is the panic that he's doing his best to ignore, but he lets Zeref do...whatever it is he's trying to do, because he probably has a better idea of the demon's weaknesses.]
[He isn't so much shocked at this point as getting that terrible sinking feeling when nothing happens. He had been a little hopeful that Zeref would have succeeded in eliminating Deliora.
Of course it wouldn't have been that easy.]
You need to move Zeref. We can think of a new plan but don't just stand there!
[Arguing now was pointless. He inclined his head to acknowledge he heard him and ran closer to Deliora. He could cast his magic from afar, but by decreasing the distance, he thought there was the chance the demon would turn his attention on him.]
Ice Make: Geyser!
[With countless lives depending on this, he poured more of his magic than usual into the attack. The spikes towered over his normal attack as they began to impale the demon.]
[It worked to turn Deliora's attention back to him. Another unearthly roar, and the demon's attack had Gray's ice flying back in his direction. Gray kept low to the ground until it was over, and stood back up before using his magic to create a set of chains to try and hold the demon back. Until he actually saw the signal, it made more sense to get close enough to the demon to distract him.]
[ action ] almost one month later here :(
... You're really going to make me do this, aren't you, Deliora?
{ Zeref says quietly, more talking to himself than to the gargantuan Etherious. Something about this didn't add up. Deliora wasn't sentient, like the demons of Tartaros; he was a monster who only knew how to destroy, not even really capable of higher thought. He shouldn't able to disobey Zeref's orders, much less resist being reverted back into book form. He didn't exactly have much time to ponder that, however; he needed to destroy this thing, now.
Zeref took a deep breath, focusing the Curse around him. He had long since learned how to weaponize this magic forced upon him all of those centuries ago, and now it had become the most potent, lethal form of magic he had. He began moving his arms, one held above his head the other straight down towards his feet, slowly moving them to meet at his midsection, fingers extended.
That cold, black magical energy surrounding Zeref would also begin surrounding Deliora; but for now, it was harmless. Gray was safe for the time being. }

GRAY-SAMA?????
video.
[He's stronger than he was back then. No one's died yet and no one has to.]
Juvia? [There's a flicker of something--relief, glad that she's okay--before his pupils shrink and his face twists into a glare, fearful and desperate to keep her out of harm's way.]
Don't come anywhere near here!
