Welp, this is... something, isn't it? [She's not even surprised anymore considering her life has been quite... random in the past few weeks. And while Max appreciated the few days of calm that followed certain events, she desperately needed a break to mend her emotional wounds, she suspected the crazy stuff would never end. At least for once it doesn't seem like her powers to alter time and travel through her own piceturs but... ] This is Maxine Caulfield, I am from Arcadia Bay, Oregon, United States... Earth. Does anyone recognize those names?
I already visited the informative stand at the entrance of the bay but... is this place, world, only really formed by five cities? [Attleon seems a pleasant place to live in, at least according to the brochures but she's still taking it in. One day is just having eggs and bacon in her favorite diner and the next thing she remembers is waking up in that weird place. At least she got to keep her camera, that's something. In the meanwhile pardon her while she hoards the brouchures, you never know when you may need an important telephone number or information.]

Oh, wait, that was X factor, sorry, I'm not too fond of talent shows.

It's not..a talent show thing. It's the name of a superhero team comprised of Mutants like myself.

..X-Factor is also the name of team in my world comprised of Mutants too.

Oh. Well, no mutants in mine. I think... [Then again, she doesn't know exactly where her power is from, so...]

How did you realize you're a mutant? I mean, is that something you have at birth or it just... suddenly happens someday?

Both really. You are born with something called the X-Gene. But you don't really know you have it until your abilities manifest themselves. It usually happens around puberty, but it can be at birth or later in life.

Some mutations are physical, which can be a wide range of things from your skin being blue, to becoming a giant stone creature. Usually, if you are born with a physical mutation, it's much easier to realize that you are a mutant.

Well, wow.

And is there any way to check if you have this X-gene with blood... markers or something? I'm sorry if I sound so curious but We don't have public mutants in my world and I may know one and this sounds awkwardly familiar to my experience.

No physical mutations in this case, just... one stupid power that tends to backfire with flying colours whenever it's used.

People have had ways of finding or seeing the x-gene in people. It didn't always typically end well, because some would like to abuse that to hunt mutants. None of those ways are here, though.

What's the power?
