[Action][Locked][Backdated: Nov 6] A Veritable Void of Voracity

WHO: The Komeiji sisters, Liv, and possibly Satsuki
WHERE: A small coffee shop in Genessia
WHAT: Arranging a meal
WHEN: November 6th
WARNINGS: Discussion involving the sisters' need to eat human flesh. Possible flesh eating?

It took quite a bit to rouse Fayren's quiet Guardian to attention. Let alone to have her step outside. She normally wouldn't have done anything like this under any normal circumstances. But, of course, it had to be now, of all times. Starving. Still starving. Too long.

"I'd like a green tea, please. No...I want nothing else in it, thank you." Her reply was curtly spoken and briefly delivered, almost as quickly as she entered. A wide hood was pulled up over her face in order to hide her likeness from passers-by, but it only added the effect of drawing more attention to her. It felt odd not exposing her arteries to the air, but it was a small price to pay for anonymity. She turned to the figure bundled up in a softer-looking wool-lined jacket. "...And another, please. This one, with honey." Tea won't sate that need, it never does. But her nerves, it could deal with.

Or at least, that's what she thought, while waiting for her order. Thoughts drifted from the other patrons' minds gently prodding at her barely maintained sense of security. And quickly preying on her insecurities, to be sure.

"Who's that over there..." "That hood's way to big for her..." "That looks like someone with something to hide." "Too scared to show her face around here?" "Who the hell's got pink hair like that?" "She looks just like-"

So on and so forth. Every second stretched on. It hit that peak of almost discovery and stopped. And more and more kept battering at her mental resistance, making it more difficult to just...sit there and wait for when that person would stop by and offer her solution to this...pressing matter. That couldn't be helped, as most sentients were afraid of what they didn't understand. Even if it was just a hood over a semi-famous person's face. She sidled quietly back to her seat, the eyes and minds of everyone else in the establishment focused and intent on trying to piece things together. After a moment, she felt the majority of them redirect their thoughts back to themselves. But one stood out before it changed course.

Passing by with her two orders of tea, Satori heard someone's mind mumbling... "...crazy girl. Orderin' two drinks for herself..."

Well then, back to the table at the end of this joint, it seems. Satori had settled for one at the very back of the building, towards one of the corners furthest from windows and prying eyes, pulling back her hood some. Don't stare at them. Don't tempt it. Satori had already ensured Koishi wouldn't blow their cover, nor scandalize anything by showing up loudly and quickly, as she always did. Koishi hadn't worn a hood mainly because she rather loudly refused and had no head artery to cover, but Satori hadn't a choice. What she gave me wasn't enough. She couldn't quite afford to risk tackling this issue through entirely...normal means. "This waiting is unbearable..." Within a little while, it's possible they'd forget about the sight. Or it would become a persistent rumor. Either of those two ways, she had means to twist it about, later.

After all, she thought, isn't that what politics is all about?

Koishi was a bit more visible now... A bit... She had taken the seat across from Satori. Dressed warm, though She looked no happier about the situation than her elder sister, and even less alert. She had to remain focused though. For now at least. She was in a better position than Satori. Even if she tended to burn through more energy, she at least had spent enough time around humans to not immediately regard them as food. Still, she was near her limit. What she was finding in Fayren wasn't anywhere near enough. Especially now that it was winter and fewer people were foolishly blundering into the wilds to hunt monsters.

"We wouldn't be involving other people if it wasn't getting so hard to think." Koishi's hand strayed to her stomach, clutching the fabric. If this didn't work out she wasn't sure what she was going to do. Hunt more actively in Fayren perhaps? She would cross that bridge if need be. "We'll get through this. We've been hungrier before-" Though admittedly that time had left them beyond desperate. "-and we got through it. Please try to relax some."

She released her coat after a moment, distracting herself with the paper cup and taking a sip-

"Sis. This is your tea. There's no honey in it."

Satori's hand trembled a little as she realized her mistake, swapping the pair of teas and shaking her head... "You're right. There isn't much that can be done, otherwise." She took a long, thoughtful sip, tried to resign herself to that fact. And what if I hadn't? Then people would fear her. Fear is food. And she couldn't let her success slip away. They feed me. But those 'people', those false people, she remembered, couldn't satisfy her any more, in terms of fear. Entirely useless.Do they even taste bland as they look? Perhaps for meat, they'd pass muster.

The youkai put her hand to her temples, rubbing them firmly. It was harder and harder to keep such intrusions out. She looked from one end of the room to the other, hoping this would be all over, soon...

Liv had been on edge about this. For one thing, she wasn't a black-market organ dealer. It made the actual thought that she was being asked to provide two people with human organs because she worked in the hospital's morgue more than a little awkward. On the other hand, she was an expert at sneaking organs out of morgues. Brains, really, but having training as a surgeon and assistant medical examiner would.. honestly make it easy to do whatever was actually needed.

It didn't make it any more comfortable now, knowing that. It especially didn't when she realized just how much the two people she was supposed to be meeting jumped out in the crowd. Inconspicuous was not their middle name. She briefly wondered if it was the same situation as it was with her- the longer she goes without eating what you need, the dumber and meaner. At least that would mean if they had to do this again, once they got on a regular schedule it would be a lot less obvious if it were true.

Something to look into or this wasn't going to work out.

Liv slowly headed over to them, not having taking much precaution in the way that she dressed. If you want to be inconspicuous, you look normal. That's the number one rule to not standing out, even if your pale complexion makes you look like you skipped the line when they were handing out skin tone. She almost hesitates to approach them altogether, but in the end elects to sit down at the table with them.

"Hi, I'm Olivia Moore. You two aren't big on blending in."

If it somehow is the wrong people at least it'll seem like she's just making with being forward. If these two are the right people, they'll hopefully know her name before she knows theirs. Careful.

Koishi looked up from her tea as Liv approached, blinking once and tilting her head. Despite the green hair, her outfit at least was less conspicuous than her sister's. After all coats were expected in colder weather... though perhaps not ones quite so heavy. Koishi seemed to perk up a bit as Liv approached properly.

"I told her not to wear such a big and bright coat. Though, honestly, neither of us are very in touch with human fashions..." Focus. Stay focused. "It's nice to meet you Miss. I'm Koishi Komeiji and my mismatched sister is Satori Komeiji." Liv may or may not recognize the guardian of Fayren and a member of Satsuki's inner circles. They had gotten some media attention after the whole Gilgamesh thing.

A somewhat awkward pause. "... Sis say something." There was a dull thunk as a boot impacted Satori's chair.

Koishi watched Satori for another few moments, brow furrowed with concern before turning back to Olivia. Her third eye bobbed several times- wait, had it always been there? She looked to her sister again after a moment. "She doesn't have any negative intentions towards us sis. We can trust her. She honestly seems really nice."

The younger sister offered a weak smile. reaching out and pulling in the eye, cradling it against her chest. A strange chill washing over those present. A mental hiccup. "I"ll make sure no one notices what we're talking about, okay?"

A mental reminder came to Olivia as she had to remind herself that despite appearances, despite the way that the younger sister seemed to be holding her... bonus eye... like a doll, these weren't children. It would've pulled at her heartstrings, more on some days than others, if they had been and she might not have been able to make this decision clearly. It was a big one, and not just because they were dealing in selling dead body parts. Liv gave one more glance around the room to see that Koishi's little trick worked.

"Since you didn't ask for a meeting with the local butcher, I gleaned that. Just so we're clear, I'm not accepting any payment for this. From what I can tell, you two have been keeping your hands clean here. At least well enough to get an entire city to put you in office."

Which didn't really mean much. Not getting memories of any murder victims of being hunted by them definitely helped- but that wasn't something she was going to mention. "You're also not the only person in this world who has a similar problem which is why we're having this meeting at all. That means you're going to have to be a little more specific about which parts you need, how and when you need them, and you can't come by the morgue unannounced."

That was part one of the conditions.

"Livers too please." Koishi interjected quickly. "And kidneys. And other meaty vital organs. Though hearts still work the best. " A pause. "Also, they're much easier to chew. The digestive tract is much harder." She twitched, reaching up to rub her left temple. That strange mental hiccup rippled through those present again though the other diners appeared to be none the wiser. "Oh... Umm... Ah! And eyes! And the tongue too. Those work really well."

She quieted down again, taking a breath and cradling her third eye, massaging it. It was open just slightly... "You don't need to get us all those things. Just... Occasional variety is nice."

Liv felt uneasy as Koishi started listing organ after organ. It disgusted her that she had to eat brains- having to get other body parts for others wasn't going to be an easy task. But she knew what happens when people don't get what they need- they take it in a much worse way. Satori and Koishi, in her opinion, didn't seem like bad people. Her comfort levels with taking organs for anyone just weren't high to begin with.

What Satori said next though definitely threw her. There were three quick conclusions she drew in her head, but she wasn't sure which one was right: 1. David told someone, 2. Satori is a telepath like David or 3. Satori's just taking what she said and assuming it's a 'I have a friend who' story. Which was what it was, but Satori wouldn't know that unless the first or second possibilities were true. The only one she was hoping it wasn't was the first one. Liv took only a second to reply, very calmly.

"I didn't say anything about brains and they're not my meals. I eat food. I'm a big fan of peppers and hot sauce." Just a quick correction and move on. The less you sweat the more reasonable it sounds. "I'll see what I can do and try to mix it up for you two. The other thing is that I'm going to be upfront that there will be one other person who's going to know about this. Not because I want to tell on you, but because if we're going to do this, I need to make sure that law enforcement doesn't come busting my door down for black market organ donations. He'll understand and he's good at keeping secrets."

Unless David had told Satori about Liv- in which case it wouldn't matter, but it was the principle-- and God, the service here was terrible. Liv looked around the restaurant for a moment. She'd been sitting here for a few moments now and no one had come to take an order or anything. Part of her knew it was because of Koishi, but the remaining itches of a Gelp reviewer were still fading from her stomach and this place was so not getting a good rating.

A hand reached across the table, taking Satori's own and squeezing it gently. Koishi had a somewhat strained smile on her face, her third eye open and staring blindly forward. At least for now. "Sis. If you talk like that you'll scare her away. And we can't afford that right now."

Turning to Liv now, Koishi's voice was shaking a little. "I'm sorry. My sister gets very cranky when she's hungry and stressed. Please, it's just as uncomfortable for you as it is for us." Koishi took a slow breath, releasing her sister's hand and removing her hat, gently massaging the scar above her temple. "To clarify, she is capable of hearing your active thoughts, not memories, as easily as your speech. Likewise, I can feel your subconscious and emotions shift and change. I'm sorry no one told you before the meeting. We wont dredge any deeper if we can help it."

She placed her hand back down in her lap, her third eye drifting down and resting on the table. It was staring blankly, frosted surface twitching some. "You mentioned you had another condition...?"

"It would take a lot more than that to scare me away, but it would've been nice to know that beforehand. That makes two mind-reading Guardians I know. If I collect three, do I get some kind of prize?"

It wasn't like Liv could complain. They might read surface thoughts, but Liv went for the deeper parts Koishi mentioned of the brains she ate whether she wanted to or not. Some of those places were terrifying- some of the places she went without the help of brains were more terrifying than that. A little mind-reading was something she was more than welcome to make snark about.

"I don't have much on me, but you're welcome to the rest of these." Liv reached into her bag, glancing around to make sure the attention was still off of them before pulling out a ziplock of a few pieces of brain she'd been carrying around- a snack in case she needed it.

"It should at least help you take the edge off. I'll let you know as soon as I have someone on my work table so you can get something real."

She'd gone over her two conditions, but since they were apparently mind-readers, she did have one more to add. "If anyone finds out what I am or what I'm doing for you two, this ends. I don't want any trouble and I doubt the hospital is going to let me keep working in the morgue if they find out. I'd appreciate it if you'd keep that between us and if you actively tried not to read my mind for the privacy of the deceased. I'm not always the only one in here."
