[Public Broadcast/Video] The Skeletor's Outta the Bag

[vyse_the_legend]

 [Attention Genessia citizens and Guardians alike! Meet Vyse, the Blue Rogue. This spirited young man appears on your screen, his brown hair a little plastered to his forehead by sweat. He's been running around a lot! But having freshly escaped danger, he's free to dole out the warnings. What little that can be discerned of him is this: he has one funky glass eye-piece, and he's in a well-lit cave of some kind.]

Greetings Genessia. I unfortunately have a warning to issue: the Goblin activity mentioned in the paper is part of something big; some kind of "plan" by Skeletor. Now I don't know who this Skeletor guy is, but I had a little chat with one of his cronies, and if that guy was any indication, this "plan" is big trouble. Those Goblins are armed to the teeth, so I don't think they'll be stopping in for tea.

Right now they're in Fayren. I told the City Guardian about it, but I don't know just what she can do alone against something like that. Personally? If these guys try anything I plan to be right there to put a stop to it. We're on to you, Skeletor.

[Personally he's hoping that being outed might curb Skeletor's ambitions for a while...] Everyone, be careful alright? These guys are dangerous.

Fayren is one of the sister-cities off of Genessia. There are a number of archways that connect them. They're kind of like portals, and from what I can tell every city is very different.

You've got Genessia, the central city, then you have Nova City, Fayren, Everglade, and Attleton.

[caelica]

I only arrived here in this strange dimension, so do pardon my ignorance. I haven't had the chance to travel far beyond this Genessia's borders, but I'm glad to know there are other places. Somehow...

[vyse_the_legend]

Hey, it's no problem. I'm pretty new here myself. This whole thing? It's going to be one awful learning experience, that's for sure.

[caelica]

Are you? I must say it's comforting to know someone else is new like I am.

[vyse_the_legend]

Likewise! My name is Vyse. What's yours?

[caelica]

[Caelica clears her throat]

My name is Caelica Blair. I'm a rune knight of the Dalanyo.

[Which hardly means anything in Genessia, but that at least says she's a fighter]

[vyse_the_legend]

A Rune Knight? That sounds impressive! [There were no such thing as Rune Knights where he came from, but he can imagine what one might be. In his mind, it's really cool! And sure, it means little here, but neither does his being an Air Pirate.]

It's nice to meet you. [Here's hoping he doesn't get on her bad side!]

[caelica]

And you as well, Master Vyse.

May I ask a favor of you? I seem to have lost my way in this maze of a city, would you be so kind as to guide me and tell me more about these outer cities? I would be most grateful.

[vyse_the_legend]

[Oh... oh dear. Vyse... would love to help! But being so new himself he isn't sure he wouldn't just get lost in the city too... City streets always get him.]

I... I could try, but I'm not very good at getting around either. Where are you trying to go?

[caelica]

That would be a problem, I have no idea...

[Caelica looks around, trying to see landmarks she could tell Vyse that might give him a clue where she is]

I believe I'm near an inn...? "Geraldi's Pi- uh, Peezzah? Pie-zah?"

[vyse_the_legend]

[An inn? He hadn't seen anything that looks like an inn since he got there... Hmm... Then she says the name of the place, or tries to anyway. Geraldi's Pizzeria.]

I think you're looking for "Pizzeria" there. It's a place that serves pizza, which... is some kinda food, but I haven't tried it yet. Still, I know where you are. Hang on for a little while and I'll come see you. I've just got some things to take care of.

[Sometime later, Caelica would spot the familiar face if she waited like he asked her to. He's hard to miss with that glass eye piece, not to mention his particular coat and his obvious affinity towards ascots. He's wearing a red one, and he rocks it pretty good!]

[caelica]

[Caelica mouths the word "pizzaria" and "pizza" to know how to pronounce them better. It's a habit she developed in her travels where people speak foreign languages. Caelica waited by the entrance of the Pizzaria, beginning to rub her arms from the cold. She wears an outfit that shows a lot of skin to absorb light through it that she can later use for her powers, which is bad for places that are cold.

Regardless, she sobered up and fixed her coat and collar to look presentable once she saw Vyse. A rune knight must always look presentable, after all. As skimpy her outfit is. She stands up and greets Vyse with a slight bow and a warm smile]

It's an honor to finally meet you in person, Master Vyse.

[vyse_the_legend]

[Caelica, Vyse takes notice of your outfit. He wouldn't normally, of course, but you're just so... scantly clad! Vyse can't just ignore things like that right off the bat, but he'll get used to it. It's just odd to him... But, maybe that's just how Rune Knights are, so he pushes it to the back of his mind.] Hey there. It's nice to meet you too. [He returns the bow slightly, and is pretty much always smiling.]

So, Caelica... You're new here? WHat do you want to do exactly? Or need to do?

[caelica]

[Caelica takes out that flyer she got from the Bay when she first arrived, unfolding it and giving it a glance]

I have yet to find a place to live. Or acquire a steady income... I didn't do anything, thinking I will wake up back in my world on the first few nights in this city.

[vyse_the_legend]

[Vyse doesn't like dashing hopes, but he crosses his arms with a serious expression.] Sorry to say, but that's not going to happen. I've been here plenty of nights and I still haven't woken up on my ship.

That being said, maybe we can get started there. There's a few different places you could live... But how about we go inside? I can bring up the listing on this phone thing and you can check out the places before we go walking all over town. Besides, I'm a little hungry.

[caelica]

It would appear to be the case...

[Caelica sighed, setting her hands on her hips as she hangs her head in defeat]

Inside would be better. I'm starting to feel a bit nippy, and some warmth would do me much good at the moment.

[Caelica leads to the door, but she opened it for Vyse]

After you, sir.

[vyse_the_legend]

[Vyse blinked as she opened the door for him. Weren't guys supposed to do that for girls? Well, best not to think about it. He steps in side with Caelica in tow and finds himself a table to sit at. Comfy little place! He hasn't been inside before, but he kind of wishes he had now...]

[When the Rune Knight takes a seat, he's already got his phone out.] Okay! So, we can order some food if you want... look over some stuff while we eat, you know.

[caelica]

No thanks, I'm good.

[Caelica waves her palm sideways to decline the offer of food. It may smell nice coming from the kitchen, but she's not sure about it yet. The phone was curious though. It's not too different from some of the devices she's seen in the more industrial countries of her world, though this one is a lot more sleek in design]

I have a device like that as well. But how to use it still eludes me...

[She pulls out her communicator that she got from the starting package in the Bay, fiddling with it with a raised brow of confusion]

[vyse_the_legend]

Oh, you don't know how to use this thing? Here, let me show you. [He turns his phone and leans across the table to show Caelica his screen as he gestures to the buttons.] Okay, so, everyone has a number. To call them, you push the numbers on this keypad here, then push the green button to start the call. The red one ends the call. These buttons here control the menus...

[He goes on like that for a little while, trying to show the Rune Knight everything he thought would be important - including how to store his number in contacts, how to access the map, and things like that.]

I had to really work on it too. I'd never seen anything like this before, but it's pretty easy once you get the hang of it.

Now, as for houses...

[Vyse takes his phone back to look up the housing registry - which was basically just the apartments list.] All these apartments are in the Genessia city itself, so you don't have to go far to find them. [Handing his phone to her with the listing, he'd let her look through it while he got up to get himself a slice of pizza. It had all the places - the Matisse, Holly Ridge, the Regency Apartments, Riverplace Square, Sunset Summit, Stone Ridge, Garden Park, Clermont, Binford Garden, and Tupelo Alley. She was free to look through them and see photographs of each apartment type at her leisure.]

[caelica]

[Caelica listened intently, looking down at the phone like a curious child seeing an electronic device for the first time. She may look like a total ignorant newcomer, but she got all of that quickly]

Alright. I got it now.

[Caelica nods, proudly. When Vyse showed her the housing registry, Caelica browsed at the photographs while he went to get himself some food. Her eyes lit up at the sight of the picture of Tupelo Alley, reading up on it and browsing at the pictures of the interiors. Yup, she found her new home it seems!]

This place... Tupelo Alley. I would like to stay here.

[vyse_the_legend]

[Vyse had returned with a slice of pizza when Calica had already made her decision. In that case, he takes a bite out of it quickly... which was a bad idea since it was hot. He kind of recoiled from the sudden burning in his mouth, while still trying to eat the food. He eventually swallowed it down... but he'd be feeling that burn against the roof of his mouth for a while.]

Tupelo Alley, huh? Alright, I can take you there. [He hadn't been there himself, but surely he could find it.]

[caelica]

You have my gratitude. I shall wait here until you've finished your meal. It certainly smells delicious.

[Caelica chuckles. The smell itself was enough to make her a little hungry, but she's not going to order anything yet. Got to have self-control, it's the knightly way!]
