Hello.

[Sakura smiles a little nervously at the screen.]

This might be an odd request but is anyone willing to teach me magic? I don't want to hurt anyone so healing and defensive things if possible. I want to be able to protect my friends and family. I've learned that I have the capability for magic I just need to be taught.

[There is a brief awkward pause.]

Well... I have the talent for it. I think I might have been able to use magic in the past, only I forgot about it when I lost my wings and my memories scattered.

[It makes a little bit of sense at least.]

Maria blinks into the video feed, looking almost-- blank, then, a small smile forces its way across her lips, and up to her eyes, of course. "Well... I would think you're a bit old to have just now discovered your talent for magic, but-- not by too much, I suppose!" Her smile widens slightly, as she considers the question asked in the first place. "I mean-- I could teach you, of course, though-- well. I dunno that I would be a very good teacher, given that I am also a soldier, technically; a soldier against Dark Wizards. So... Yeah, I'm afraid that my teachers' teaching methods will be a touch too... Rough, for you... I mean, of course, I wouldn't want to bully you, but-- I dunno how I'd act as a teacher of the Defence Against the Dark Arts, after all..."

Her mouth slowly turned down from a smile to a slight, concerned frown.

Sakura wasn't sure that she could explain well but she's determined to try. "Well, I think I could use magic before but I lost my wings... um memories and as I get them back I can remember things and I think magic is one of those things. It's still there, I've just forgotten about it."

She wanted to remember again but she realized that it still might not make much sense.

Her smile shifted into a slightly nervous one. "I'm okay with a hard teacher. I really want to learn and be able to protect myself." She didn't want what happened a few months ago to happen again.

[Well, this is concerning. Azalea wants to help, being a magic user herself, but she knows nothing about the magics of other worlds.]

Well...I wish I knew how to teach you, but I don't know what kind of magic your world has. Can you use your feather?

It isn't my feather exactly... I think the magic is there but I've forgotten how to use it.

[It's partly from the feather.]

Is magic really different in every world?

I would think so. In my world, we use battle stones to augment our abilities.

Was Gilgamesh from your world? How was he able to use the feather's power so easily?

He wasn't and anyone can use the feathers.

[It's because the feathers are pure energy and that exists in all worlds though Sakura hasn't yet connected that fact together.]

I've had people from all words try and use them.

Does everyone in your world have feathers like that? What about Fai? Does he know magic?

In Sornieth, we also draw magical energies from all around us, and store them within.

Fai knows magic but he tries not to use it.

I want to be able to protect Fai and everyone else. Fai told me that I should be able to learn. I just need someone to teach me.

He said he would but I have to wait for him to return. [Then after the elections.]

I knew a couple of people who could use magic. What sorta thing were you thinking?

[She's not trying to be selfless. It's just practical.]

Healing and protection spells... can you learn to teleport? That'd help?

Hmm, dunno about teleporting.

[He'd seen Yggdrasil do it, but that certainly wasn't something most people could learn, as far as he was aware.]

Buuuut, I'm sure the rest wouldn't be too tough.

It depends on the kind of magic. I find making something like a potion is a different kind of magic and reading a spell from a book is also different than one might use by waving a hand or something.

[She knew how to use spells from books, but doesn't have a magical bone in her body.]

[Sakura thinks about it for a moment.]

Well, I know the magic is inside of me. I don't think doing things from books will be bad either... I just want to protect people.

[She looks down at her hands which then lace together nervously. She really doesn't know a lot about magic. She secretly wishes she asked Fai more before he left.]

Yes. I've seen many kinds of magic, light magic and dark magic. You seem to be the type that would do much better in the light magic, however I know someone who would keep saying thise saying 'All magic comes with a price' So... I feel likes it's best to give you that heads up.

[It sounds a little like the time witch but she had come to see even the elusive woman as her friend.]

I don't think it's one set price forever... But what price do you think you've paid?

[Every magic one used had some kind of price as far as she had seen. Other worlds could be different though.]
