[When the feed initializes, the sky pirate is reclined against a small desk and is holding a small scepter, aquamarine in color, and though worn, still shining.]
There was still something to be found in those ruins. Fancy that.
[He moves, the scepter sliding into a hip pouch before he faces the video communicator more fully.]
A successful treasure hunt is food for the soul, you know. Hmm, we should do this more often. Surely there are more ruins to be found beyond one of these archways, and if we find them before someone prints it in the papers, everything we find there is rightfully ours.
[He smiles.]
I tire of repairing someone else's hovers, at any rate. Any juicy gossip? Rumors?

Someone needs to tell it I'm not laughing.

[All joking aside, though.]
Have your tests proven fruitful in anything?

He does look very thoughtful, though, then shakes his head.]
No. That's not possible. [he blinks and looks to the feed again.]
I'm sorry. The only answer I can think of seems...utterly impossible. I suppose I'll pose it, though. Hypothetically speaking, these tests you're describing engender age based on T-cell formation? If there is no trace, it would suggest we're all infants, which by appearance alone, seems impossible.
Now, purely hypothetical, mind. What if we, of whom you are collecting and testing samples, are not originals? If we were...copies, say, we wouldn't have this T-cell production you're so set upon. We'd have had no time for it to occur.

Anyone who tried to do that on purpose wouldn't have done someone like me- it's- [ Okay, calm down Liv. You know not all people are good people. ] Cloning is possible from infancy, but our memories- [ No, that was.. probably possible too. ]
When the barriers went down, some of the people had to give up their memories to rebuild them, implying whatever this place's spirits really are, they have the ability to extract them. Giving them in the first place probably isn't a big step.
[ She leaves the video screen for a moment, grabbing a binder off of an organized shelf full of them. She wasn't the one who organized them, but she was grateful they were so easy to find things in. ]
I'm going to test more people. I can't just accept that. If it were true, whoever did it is insane. And cruel. [ She looks like she's about ten thousand miles from even wanting to consider that possibility. And she's.. sometimes on the more stable side. She's on the stable side at the moment, anyway. ] Keep this between us until we know more.

Of course, Olivia. It was only one theory. No need to stress so about it. [He pauses, weighing the pros and cons of pursuing the topic further.] Someone like you? Just what are you hiding? [He raises a hand to stay a protest.] I know you're hiding something. Like recognizes like, after all. We're both very good at it.

[ That binder she was looking through before, she finally seems to find the page. ]
"Genessia is a city was created as a way to save sentient life, human and beyond, and foster souls that truly capture what it means to be alive. Though it is not the only city of its type, it is by far the most successful. By being here and continuing to develop, you're helping to save and repopulate the world."
[ As for the 'hiding' part, Liv gives him a look tinged with fear behind an attempted steeled gaze. She knows that the people here would probably be... more or less accepting of it. There was a big fuss about that shortly after she got here, but necromancy is still outlawed in Everglade, and there are still some things she has to do that she isn't proud of. She thinks what she's become is disgusting. She can't imagine everyone would be okay with what she has to do just to stay herself and stop herself from becoming a monster. It doesn't help that the count of people who know and aren't disgusted with her right now is a big one, who is still mad at her. There's a lot unsaid in her gaze, but she decides against trying to deny there was anything. ] I'll pass on sharing if that's okay with you.

[He taps his chin thoughtfully.]
What if the dream docks aren't "dreams" at all, but windows, allowing to you peek at just what your Original is up to?
[At her remark, he raises an eyebrow more pronounced, his smirk intensifying.] Mystery, a bit of intrigue. I do like that in a woman. [And his gaze says in no uncertain terms that this topic hasn't passed, but he'll let it slide for the moment.]

[ The Dream Docks.. Liv went there once and has been a fair level of miserable ever since, even if she had people helping her to feel better.
Honestly, memories like that.. Liv had a terrible idea, but she didn't voice it. Instead, another terrible idea came to mind. ]
It'd explain how so many people are brought back from death without any traces of having died besides a scar or two.
[ Okay, the eye rolling is on. ] I'm immune to flirting for information, Balthier.

[He nods.]
It would indeed. [And he allows himself a confident smirk at the last.] Who said it was flirting for information?

[ Her video feed goes off and she asks the CPU if there are any residents named Levy here. It pops up with Levy and Levi, but doesn't say where. She comes back after. ]
Two very closely spelled names. You want to talk to one of them and I'll check the other?
[ Ha ha. She knows it sounds rude, but rejection gets her better results than straight up saying that she doesn't date anyone. The truth ends up with 'why' and the nosiness ensues. Balthier has enough of that going on already when it comes to her. ] If it's anything else, feel free to pretend I'm a nun.

[ Liv's fine with the result for now, at least. It's not that she doesn't find him attractive- he is, and she thinks as much. But she's pretty sure dating an infectious zombie doesn't end up with anything but disappointment and trying to explain how to lie to other people about how the pale skin, sunken eyes, and near-white hair isn't a questionable fashion choice. Liv has no intention of getting involved with anyone so long as that's a risk unless they're already dead. ]
