Ichigo [Action/Video]
[That wasn't right. When Allen became aware of the first vague sensations of consciousness nipping at him, his eyes snapped open, and clarity returned to him. This wasn't right at all. His eyes focused, and the first thing he saw was the roof of a cavern. The first thing he heard, the sloshing of water. He could take account of his other senses as well, but by this point it wouldn't tell him anything he wanted to. Instead, he took account of his own body- made sure everything was still working- and then used one hand to push himself up from the bed of the cocoon, catching the box that was sitting on his chest in the other in a smooth, reactive motion that could have been mistaken for unconscious.
A bed- no, a cocoon? As he pried himself from it and stepped into the water filling the Bay, finding himself up to his heels in it, a whole host of questions crossed his mind, many with answers he didn't like. But he supposed he should get more information before he pursued THOSE lines of thought any further, or else they could lead down dark roads. Best not to jump to conclusions... even if that's what he really wanted to do right now.
He finally turned his attention to the box and pried it open, tucking the lid under the same arm holding the box while he examined the contents. He plucked out the walkie-talkie first, and took a moment to examine it- thoroughly, the hand holding it bursting open into a mass of metallic tendrils, each ended with a different device to prod and hook and pick apart the device- there was even an Ammeter in there somewhere. Ultimately; Rudimentary but functional, he concluded on the device, his hand folding back into it's original shape- and taking the walkie-talkie with it, absorbing it into his body. He knew how it worked in detail now, replicating it's functions wouldn't be an issue.
He briefly glanced over the gold necklace, studded with a large red jewel and numerous other smaller ones, and then chose to pick out the pamphlet. Huh. They wanted him to know they brought him here?
It didn't take long to flip through it. How kind of them to provide the walkie-talkie! He took a second look at the necklace though, now that he knew it's purpose as a transport vessel and an identifier- and took a moment to wrap it around his wrist like a bracelet, snapping it shut and letting it hang there. Then last of all, he took the money and stuffed it into his coat's pocket, mumbling, "Thanks for room and board, I guess." Then he chucked the box and it's lid back to the cocoon, and at last, made his way out of the Bay.
Upon stumbling across the magazine rack, he cocked an eyebrow. "Sure stands out, but I guess that's the point."
As Weiss' message played out to full, he dug through the magazines at the rack, giving them cursory glances. Safer than home, huh? He could believe it. But that didn't mean it was more exciting that way. The message ended and he put the magazines back, taking in his surroundings, and considered making his way to Nova City. But first, he figured he'd put the video capabilities of that walkie-talkie to the test by posing a question to the greater populace who'd already arrived, raising an empty hand and allowing a camera lens to form on it's palm- HD Video, here we come! He'd already recorded the frequency it was broadcasting on, so the rest came neatly.]
Getting into the Christmas spirit, everyone? [He laughs to himself, but you can tell from his face he's not in the best place mentally. A little red under the eyes.]
So, can anyone give me a read on how outdated Ms. Schnee's little info relay out here is? You know, if anyone's gotten any closer on how to get home or not. Just need to know if I'm here for the short-term or the long haul, you know?
[He briefly is out of focus, giving anyone viewing a view of a boot attached to a leg- after all, the camera is in his hand, as opposed to being carried by it. Not that the viewer would know. Then it shifts focus to his face again.]
Nice place you've got here.

action! - Now I'm hungry
That sounds amazing.
[She is just as eager and so she grabs him by the arm and leads him to the store.]
I will! I know my roommate will probably want to try it.
[A few blocks and they are at the store. Levy grabs a basket and holds out her hand for the boy to lead the way. She doesn't think she has anything like this in her house so they'll need to buy everything, even the spices.]
action! - that's the worst part about writing about food
I think we're going to need a cart for this one. [He snickers, and then goes to wheel out the cart himself.] I hope they sell goat here though, everything else should come naturally...
[While he begins to search for the initial ingredients, he figures now is a good time to ask.] So what is Genessia like? I heard about things like 'Guardians' and the general overview, but what is it really like? From the street level, as opposed to the business bird's eye view?
action!
Genessia is a lot like any other city. There are people living their lives and it's calm most of the time. Sometimes strange things happen. [While they are going through the store Levy also picks up milk for the house because she doesn't remember if they have any.]
I don't know what your world was like though. So this might not be so normal for you.
action!
My world? Hmm... [Well, it couldn't hurt.] My world was filled with the kind of people who called themselves 'superheroes'. For the most part, when I first arrived there, supernatural beings and those with powers were the minority, but with each passing year it became more common. It was the kind of world where people were rapidly having to accept they would have to live alongside people with superhuman abilities.
Some didn't take it well, usually those with lots of money and who were very good at carrying grudges.
As the supernatural simply became the 'natural', it also became a magnet for even more outlandish things. Visitors from other worlds (like me!), other dimensions, other realities. Incidentally or otherwise, I ended up being one of the few people who would always step forward when a major catastrophe caused by one of these things came up.
Actually... At the time I was plucked from, we were in the middle of such an event. [He laughs weakly.] I'm trying not to freak out. I trust my friends, and I was told the world shouldn't go on without me, but it's hard not to be afraid. The enemy we were up against was only the second of their scale... a sinister creature calling itself the Architect, who cloistered himself away in a reality of his own making, and invaded others to collect those with powerful abilities like they were trophies. We were getting ready for the final charge when... well, I woke up here.
[A small sigh.] But that's not to say bad things are happening constantly. It is peaceful a lot of the time, but you never know what jackass with superpowers is going to get too angry and start throwing acid or fireballs everywhere. Supernatural communities started policing themselves. I only got involved when it was something I knew the people living there couldn't handle.
I can say I'm glad for the chance it might be less hectic here, though. [Oops.] Ah, sorry for the whole life story exposé. I felt like talking about it might make me worry less. [It didn't work. So instead, he occupied himself with collecting supplies, vegetable oil, sesame oil, sugar, garlic, ginger, onions, tomatoes, lemons, beans...]
What was your home like?
action!
I'm always happy to listen though I don't think there is anything I can say or do to help. My home is a place with wizards... about 10% of the population is born with the ability to use magic and because of that they've created guilds. People request things and the wizards get paid.
There are fights and dark guilds too but there are a lot of people trying to work together to make things better.
[Her smile widens.]
The town I lived in was a little like this one. There wasn't so much technology but that's because we didn't really need it. Letters instead of phones sorta thing.
action!
And I get what you mean. More footwork, less distance to travel... modern conventions like ones in Genessia aren't entirely necessary. It's charming... plus people won't worry about machines replacing their jobs.
action!
[She turns to show off her left shoulder blade which has the mark of Fairy Tail pressed into her skin.]
Yeah, like that. I mean we had trains and things.
action!
So you can use magic too? Any specializations? [By this point the cart is almost packed- though he seems about ready by now, picking out a few last things.]
action! - there's the tattoo
I call it solid script. I write things and they appear.
action!
Whoa, that sounds awesome! Is there any kind of limit on that? Too big, too heavy? Can you just make yourself a house whenever you feel like it? [That actually sounded really useful to him, if that were the case.]
Alright, this should be everything.
action!
I've never tried anything so expansive. Usually single words like fire, bullet or air. [She watches the cost tick up with each count.]
Though I've been getting better at shields. It involves a lot more writing.
action!
[He watches the count tick up as well and sweats a bit.] Y-you sure I can't pay for some of it?
action!
I got it. [She has a really nice job and pays before collecting some of the bags.] How about you carry a little extra in return.
[She can't carry that much and there are a few blocks away from her home.]
action!
Ready. And, thank you again for all this. I'll definitely need to make it up to you.
action!
[She laughs as they walk from the store and towards her house.]
Besides you're making me food. That's enough of a treat. [It's a few blocks before Levy directs Allen to turn and before he knew it they are walking up the path to her home.]
action!
[He smiles.] Somehow, it feels it suits you.
action!
[It's a simple two bedroom place with a library in the basement. Levy can't function without books, of course if he were to peek into her bedroom that would look like a Library also.]
Kitchen is just through there.
[She follows behind him trying to remember if she left her pokemon in their pokeballs or not. They are usually wandering around the house.]
So what do you need? Pans are down there and...
action!
[Once they were actually in the kitchen, he set the bags he brought on the counter and started looking around as well, digging out what he thought he'd need.] A pot would be good too, and any utensils you have. Cutting boards, mincers if you have them, and a couple of large bowls. Some of this stuff I'll have to leave sitting for a while before I cook it, so it's all prep right now.
[As he said this, he prepared himself as well, taking the time to transform into his usual uniform; Literally, as his clothes began to change even while he was still wearing them, his coat and pants changing to the black and red trim of his uniform coat and slacks, even being joined by a small apron, tying itself around his waist. Though it didn't end there, as the coat continued to morph, sprouting four extra pairs of sleeves, these sleeves filled in a moment later as just as many extra arms sprouted themselves from Allen's back, filling the sleeves and taking the time to fit them properly and smooth out the wrinkles before he properly set to getting to work, one set of hands tying his long hair back into a bun while he washed the others, the last pair being washed once they were done.]
Okay! [He clapped two of his hands together, and the other two immediately set out to sorting through the numerous bags they had brought along, putting multi-tasking to the test as he laid out the ingredients in a line; The goat meat, the pork belly, then vegetable oil... Onions, potatoes, ginger, garlic cloves, spring onions, salt, black pepper... no expense was spared, clearly. And since he was determined to do most if not all of the meal from scratch, he had to make sure to account for everything.
First he took a sauce pan, turning on the stove, and while he poured olive oil onto it with one hand, another set of hands was taking a knife to the tomatoes, dicing them up and neatly lining them up so that they could be easily scooped into the pan. After a few tomatoes worth of this, he stirred it with the oil and set it on the stove, keeping the flame low so it would only simmer.
After that, he set about to cutting up the goat and the pork belly, cutting both into cubes, while his third set of hands set to meticulously peeling and cutting up garlic cloves. Once he'd obtained a bowl, he put the goat in it, adding pepper, salt and garlic and slicing up a bonnet pepper and onion to add to it, as well as pouring in a minor amount of soy sauce, a sprinkle of basil and oregano, and then mixing it all before setting it aside. On the other hand, the pork ended up in a pot of it's own, and set to cook.
There was a lot to do, but it didn't seem like he was losing track of anything.]
Sorry if this might take a bit, I'm doing everything from scratch- even stuff like the powder and tomato paste for the curry.
action!
Well, I started working as a deputy under Ted about 5 months back. A short while later I opened my bookstore. Plus the costs are split. [She wouldn't have the money if she hadn't had a roommate.]
[Levy isn't surprised but she does stare at Allen through his transformation. It's amazing and it's no wonder he's such a skilled cook. She decides to point to where things are kept as he needs it. Otherwise she'll stay out of the way and seated at the kitchen table.
She pulls a book from a shelf and flips it open to read. There really isn't a room in the house that doesn't have a book.]
Take your time. I love reading so I'll be here if you need assistance.
action!
And, working under a deputy... So you're like a cop too? You're pretty talented!
action!
The store wasn't difficult. The welcome center helped me get the location and set it up. [It isn't to hard.]
Not really a cop. [Sorta a cop.] You make it sound a lot more impressive than it is.
action!
Hm? [He tilts his head a bit.] What do you do then? You say I make it sound more impressive, but you might be undervaluing yourself too.
action!
A lot of what I do involves magic. I go through old things and try and figure them out while explain everything to the Everglade guardian Ted who knows nothing about magic.
action!
action!
[Though Levy doesn't really remember the election where Ted was elected. It was her first month here and she didn't feel okay with voting when she knew no one.]
But thank you.
