Having multiple investigators each using their own discretion in gathering information is one thing. It is when these investigations are not centrally organized and the sharing of information is informal at best that such efforts become counterproductive.

Yes, I say it to everyone, because until a suitable partner makes themselves available, I am not sanctioning an investigation. Patrolling in pairs not only doubles the protection for each, it also allows someone to see things from a differing perspective and thus get a more thorough view of the information being gathered.
