001 🎮 HEY YOU MOVED MY STUMP
[ Action ]
[ Okay, the Bay has seen better days. Ralph wasn't super jazzed about waking up in a coffin and maybe his emotions got the better of him. There are a few peices of it scattered here and there. The largest peice is buried in the wall over there. He might have punched the walls and floor a few times. A lot of times. Look, someone should probably come check on the tectonic stability of the place, is what I'm saying.
Ralph stood in the center of the catastrophe, massive shoulders and arms heaving from the recent spat of activity as his temper slowly calmed down. It wasn't the most graceful entrance, someone could have easily heard it if they were wandering by.
Ralph looked around, noticing the box that used to be on his chest (not that he remembered it at all), as well as the archway at the end of the cavern. The Schnee Welcoming Committee stuff was pretty busted up. Pamphlets were scattered everywhere, and the holographic console was knocked over with some debris burying half of it. ]
[ Video ]
[ Could Ralph use the buttons on this tiny tiny phone with his gigantic ham fisted fingers? To that he would say, 'ha!' ...that is, no. They were far too large. Fortunately the phone seemed to have some good context-sensitive programming so when he tried to shout at it, it seemed to open up a video for him. ]
HELLO?? Is anyone there?? I'm in a... cave? I guess?? It's pretty messed up. Someone- yeah it was like this when I got here, dang. Someone should uh- someone should clean this up, the mess. That I definitely was not involved in.
aNYWAY, where is-
[ He found the pamphlets but they are TINY and obviously designed for Nicelander-sized people. He's having trouble just picking one off the floor. ]
Stupid tiny papers. Where is this place supposed to be? It's not the arcade, obviously. [ Or else he would have been greeted by that ridiculously annoying surge protector. That's some relief, he supposed. ]

[ Whoa, wait, is he out with the players? But- ]
Okay, hold up, wait. This isn't a game? This is a real city?
[ Hold on Ralph, don't get your hopes up. This could just be some lady from a game where they don't know they're in a game. Those ones were really frustrating to deal with until they could be set straight. ]
This has to be a game. I'm made of code. I can't exist in a real city.
no subject
Maybe not real in the normal sense but it isn't a game. Genessia has people from different worlds and something gathers us here.
[She pauses.]
There are games you can play.
no subject
So it's not a game... whoa is this... a computer?? [ Those are the things that games are made on, right? It's like... the source. ]
Are they upgrading my game? Or is it... gone? [ Is there where game characters go if they die outside their games?? ]
no subject
Is still there and it's safe. You just aren't there... sort of like it's paused.
[Terra's confusing herself while trying to make sense. She wishes Yugi or Athrun were there since those are the two she's learned about games from.]
no subject
I think I've heard of those 'pause' things. They don't have 'em on our machines, cuz it would be fewer quarters, probably.
no subject
Right.
[There is a longer pause.]
So for now you're here... is there anything else I can help you with?

[Her voice is very soft.]
I was brought here just like you.

[ Badumtish ]

I don't think I'm from a game.
[That she knows of.]
no subject
[ He winks at her, knowingly. ]
No game for you. Got it. Well, is there someone I can talk to then? Someone's gotta know something, right?
no subject
We don't know a whole lot but there is research happening in Nova City.
[If he wants to stamp through there.]
no subject
Naw, I'll probably pass on that.
[ He wandered out into the city some more, stopping at streets as cards passed. There was a lot more happening all at once than in any game he'd ever been in before. ]
Dang, this must be one powerful machine.
no subject
This really isn't a game...
[She doesn't think he'll believe her. Terra is pretty sure that he's from a game which is why he thinks that.]

I mean maybe it's one of those fancy 'sandbox' ones, like that one, the really popular violent one - Police Chase Grand? Or one of those 'Massive Online' things, that would be pretty sweet, like those things are HUGE now, right? Maybe it's a big crossover event or something!
I don't see anyone else I recognize, though.
no subject
None of those things are here.
[At least not at the moment.]
Genessia is usually pretty peaceful.
no subject
[ You have to be patient with the non-self-aware ones. ]
Sounds kind of nice. What do you do?
no subject
[She turns the camera slightly which shows a lovely little small shop with hundreds of flowers before turning the camera back towards her.]
It's in Attleton.

no subject
[Though her roses are there.]
I don't care for fighting.

[She assumes he means demolition but she doesn't know anyone who would choose it as a career.]
no subject
Although when opportunities to wreck other things come up, I'm very enthusiastic.
no subject
[She pauses.]
Why?
no subject
I mean, I get a medal. For doing a good job wrecking the building.
[ This lie was not well constructed, Ralph. ]
We both get medals. It's a... remodeling game.
