Thief Hunting
WHO: Tiara and Fang
WHAT: Hunting down a thief
WHERE: Fayren
WHEN: Jan 4th, Late Evening
[ Though she hadn't said anything about it too blatantly, Tiara was more than a little unnerved by the incidents with the Hands of Decay recently. Poor Cui was usually the one to be squished in her arms, but the fairy was used to offering a little comfort to his Fencer. If she was surprised how gung-ho and proactive Fang was about patrolling, she never said it, precisely. Of course, she couldn't sit and worry and fret in the inn room she shared with him, which is why when he came back she had basically shoved the paper in his face and told him they were going out to capture a thief. Who knows, maybe he was connected to these Hands of Decay people! ... very unlikely, but she wouldn't stand and just let some foolish thief take advantage of other mages while they were away. Still it was nice that she let him get -some- sleep when he came back. He can't protect her properly if he as falling over, right? ]
Come Fang, it is time to begin our stakeout.
[ Did he get enough rest? Well it was probably only an few hours if that, but at least she let him get some rest all! Because she knew he would be at his best when he'd rested, and he has been working pretty hard lately. As he should! ]

"Better get lost now, buddy, before I make you regret it."
[ Tiara gave a push to the door, closing it so he couldn't back into the shop. ]
We have no intention of leaving. I suggest you drop the bag of pilfered goods immediately. If you do, we may go easy on you.
[ Maybe. Still her kind offer is snorted at by the thief, as he glanced between the two. ]
"Ha ha ha! You have got to be kidding! Look, maybe you didn't know, but a mage runs this place. Mages deserve EVERYTHING that's coming to them, those disgusting, meddling things. They're nothing but a menace!"

Fang..!
[ He probably didn't hear her surprised shout over the Thief's when he hollered at what he would consider a completely unnecessary show of force! He stumbled back against the door, losing his balance briefly, his hostile expression turning to one of hate as he glared at Fang. He gripped the bag over his shoulder. ]
"Lousy...traitorous...mage lover...!"
[ Snarling this last, he chucked the bag straight at the Fencer rather suddenly, and followed up his throw by shoving himself forward to tackle Fang to the ground, going for his own weapon. ]
no subject
Hurts doesn't it? You know a mage could make that all go away with their healing magic? No of course you don't. You're just another sheep.
no subject
"F*CK you man. I'm not letting some abomination lay their devil magic on me no matter what you do~! I ain't no sheep!"
[ Lips pressing into a thin line of disapproval - though that was more towards the thief's narrowminded statements - Tiara stepped forward to pick up the bag of loots. Abomination, huh? ]
Fang, perhaps it may be necessary to heal at least his foot injury - it will be easier than simply dragging him with us to the authorities.
[ The thief all but spits in her direction at that suggestion. ]
no subject
You don't know what a true devil is. But I can show you if you don't shut the hell up.
[He turns to Tiara and shakes his head at her offer.]
Didn't you hear the idiot. He doesn't want our help. The authorities can patch him up.
[Luckily he brought a roll of reinforced rope with him and proceeded to mount the thief's back before tying his wrists firmly at his back.]
Since you're such a big boy who doesn't need no filthy magic help, you should be able to walk through this snow just fine to the station. All the way.
no subject
[ YEAH! He was just trying to have a good...honest... job of stealing mage's goods! It's not like they have the same rights as normal people. ]
"Can't wait till the Hands of Decay eradicate the lot of them filthy mages. And hopefully they'll take care of you mage lovers too."
[ Tiara scowled at his rambling, quickly snagging the dagger he'd been reaching for. ]
Very well, Fang. It serves him right trying steal in the first place, I suppose.
[ Good thing he remembered the rope, because she certainly hadn't! Ahahaha...aaha.. ignoring the thief's complaints all the way through it, she tucked the dagger into her pouch and tucked the bag under her arm. It wouldn't do to hide the goods in the shop again, only for the place to get hit a second time - though she didn't think that would happen. She'd just let the authorities bring it back to the mage. Though she DID duck into the shop to leave a quick note for the owner, to tell them what went down, quickly stepping out to rejoin her partner. ]
How is our 'friend'?
[ Said 'friend' having gotten very sullen at his capture, though he had enough energy to try to struggle free every now and again. Difficult as that was when he kept grumbling about his foot. Too bad the authorities were allll the way on the other side of town, poor baby. ]
no subject
[Fang has no pity whatsoever. However the hands of Decay thing does get his attention.]
So you're saying those assholes are gonna go even for people who aren't magicals but tolerate them huh? Well doesn't matter. We'll find your shady buddies eventually and crush them to dust.
[With that Fang gives the thief a shove to start walking while keeping his gun trained at the thief's back.]
Nothing new. Still as mindless as the worst of em. Don't worry about him. I'm sure the guards have nurses and doctors.
no subject
[ Talking required a lot of effort - his head was still ringing from that blow, and his foot hurt whenever he put weight on it. Mages and their sympathizers were heartless bastards, he grumbled the entire way. ]
"Hell if I know, but they'll be doing us a favor getting filth like you out of the gene pool."
[ Tiara scowled slightly. ]
I am growing weary of the vitriole spewed forth from this poor creature's mouth. Fortunately we are not far now. [ From the guardstation - or its equivalent anyway. ]
It is a shame that not even nurses and doctors will be able to purge his vile thoughts from mind. [ But no, you'd have to be a real bastard to purge someone's thoughts just because you didn't agree with them. Maybe a psychiatrist would have better luck. ]
no subject
[Woah. Someone's snapped.]
Ugh can't wait. The money's good but I'm at the point where I regret not knocking him out on the first hit.
no subject
F.. Fang...?
[ Tiara stared at her partner, startled by the rather...creative threat. Even the thief wasn't sure he wanted to test to see if Fang was bluffing or not. He shut up rather quickly at that though. Tiara was grateful for that, but she worried about her companion after he made a threat like that. She quickened her pace - the faster they got rid of this nuisance of a man, the faster they could collect their money and head back to the inn. ]
... we-well... perhaps now you will learn for the future.
[ Knock out the thief first, then they won't have to deal with his mouth. ]
no subject
Yeah I won't make the same mistake next time.
[He then releases a sigh from his chest. Dammit he's so worked up over some moron who doesn't even use the brain in his head.]
no subject
... as long as you understand that.
[ Fortunately by then they'd reached one of the guardhouses, and were free to surrender the thief to the soldier there. Tiara, once the thief was taken inside, passed the weapon and bag to the other guard on duty. The two Fencers received thanks and their payment, after which Tiara turned to Fang, reaching for his hand. ]
Come, Fang. I believe I can permit you a moment to relax once we return home. You have been working twice as much as usual lately.
no subject
Okay. Thanks.
[She might be a little surprised what he'll consider relaxing once they 're back in their inn room.]
no subject
Why don't I prepare some tea for you when we get inside? It will do much to calm you, I believe.
[ At least it works for her - though they were very different people. Fortunately they aren't jumped by any other thieves or stopped by anyone on the way back. She did pause to exchange a few words with the innkeeper as simple courtesy - and she'd come to befriend the other woman during their stay. ]
no subject
Yeah...some tea sounds good.
[He nods and walks over to the table only to take out the device and start to browse through the recent posts in case anyone posted anything about the Hands.]
no subject
[ She glanced at the Fairy as he hopped out of her glaive and bounded over to Fang. Tiara smiled - surely with some tea and something to pet Fang would relax easier, right? Well, at least it'd be a start, since she had no idea what his idea of relaxing would actually end up being. Her smile twitched a little when she saw Fang immediately start checking for information about the Hands. That isn't relaxing, Fang! ]

Your tea is ready - this can wait. You are supposed to be relaxing, so drink some tea and calm yourself.
no subject
Mmn! I guess you're right.
[He signs and smiles ruefully before reaching for the tea cup, finally taking his hand from Cui to hold the small plate and cup in each.]
no subject
[ Tiara slid into a seat across from him, picking up her own cup of tea. ]
Honestly Fang, it's a waste of time to remind you that I am right every time. You should have accepted it as fact by now and no longer question me.
[ Poking fun at him should get his mind off things too, right? Right? ]
no subject
You'd find it boring if I just became a yes man and you know it.
no subject
Hm, I suppose you have a point, it -would- be boring if you simply agreed with whatever I said. At least after the first few times. The amusement in the matter would wear off rather quickly.
[ She glanced over to the sleeping Cui, chuckling again, quietly. Poor little fairy has been worried about Fang too, she knew. ]
After all, you wouldn't want -me- to simply agree with whatever you said. Am I not right?
no subject
[He takes another sip as she continues with her own point. Which is also true. After all the one he fell for was the one always arguing with him. He'd also fallen for her without even realizing until it was too late to boot.]
No you're totally right. I guess we are the same more than we'd like to admit huh.
no subject
... that is true. We are both stubborn ...especially concerning our beliefs.
[ Case in point, how long they argued about ...things. ]
Though not so stubborn as to ignore facts, or a well built argument.
[ She set her cup down, empty. ]
Would you like another cup?
