[ Video ]
[ Ferris was a bright young woman. It didn't take her long to figure things out, with the pamphlet she was provided. Figuring out the videophone took a little longer, but when she did manage to cue up a recording, the face of a beautiful blonde woman showed on the display. Her face, on the other hand, showed little to no expression as she began to speak. ]

Prior to my arrival in this place, I traveled with a man. My partner, Ryner Lute. He is an unrepentant sex fiend who lures women of all ages into his clutches, and discards them with nary a thought. I must know if such a person is in this place, immediately.

[ Because he's her important friend and she'll tear the head off anyone who lays a finger on him. She spent a long time searching for him, refusing to believe he was dead - ]

More importantly, I also wish to know the location of the nearest dango shops. [ She's sure whatever shops there are here will be subpar to the Wynnit dango shops, but she was willing to have an open mind in the matter. ]

[ Action ]
[ Shortly after making her post, she resumed her search through the Bay, passing a brief glance into some of the pods, finding most empty. Most, save for one. The familiar figure sleeping away had her breath a quiet sigh of relief, reassured by his presence. He was all right. For a second her mind stole back to the last memory she had, when she finally found him after nearly desperatelu searching, the embrace, and his arms around her - she shook her head slightly. Enough of that. Time 0to greet him in the usual fashion. ]

Oi, Ryner. Wake up.

[ Yes Ryner, wake up to the sight of your favorite bully as she hefted her godkilling sword above her head, then started to swing it down at the pod he's sleeping in, not even giving him a chance to start to wake up. She was confident he would be awake and dodge the strike in time. It's cool. Incidentally anyone in the area are of course free to come across the pair. ]

[Oh he sees her look away but doesn't quite grasp the meaning before she just shrugs off his confession.]

[He lets out a series of grumbling as he munches up one of the Dangos. He swallows before answering.]

Might as well. The sooner we figure out this place the better. It'll be like when we met Toale in Nelpha.

[ She glanced back towards him, shaking her head. ]

The words of a legendary pervert cannot be trusted. Especially with such dishonest eyes as yours.

[ She stood, if only to collect one of the boxes of dango and retreat to the bed. She went a whole five minutes without eating a dango - she was going through withdrawal. ]

However I will accompany you to the library. [ Someone has to keep him in line! (And that's the only reason. Sure.) ]

It does seem quite similar to that place. I only hope the same misfortunes do not befall this one. We know little about it's rulers. [ You'll be researching that on your own too. ]

Dishonest? When have I ever been dishonest with you?!

[Pranks and lying to keep her safe don't count.]

Oh? You gonna try and find another pervy old man to let us in the forbidden section?

[Another memory from Nelpha. Which once again will likely earn him pain and threats but hey.]

[ She disagrees on that last point, buddy boy. She opens her box of dango, taking out one to take a bite, pausing only at his words, as if considering them. NOPE gonna dismiss those out of hand too. Actually when one thinks about it, any pranks from Ferris would be violent to the point of death for a normal person. ]

[ She doesn't answer his jibe, plucking the contents of the box out with one hand until she fanned the dango sticks in one hand. She stared, mesmerized with the glorious container of the godly treat, superior to ambrosia, nectar of life and even water for a man greatly dehydrated who'd been traveling for miles in a scorching hot desert. ]

[ She neatly closed the box with her free hand, chewing on a dango and thorougly lost in thought. Perhaps he'll get away without any harm at all this time! ..

... nope, she just winged the box at his head like a freaking cardboard shuriken. ]

[ SO RUDE. ]

Woah!

[He quickly ducks for cover behind the table which in turn means that the box hits the tower of Dangos.]

Oh no you don't!

[He quickly gets up and holds the tower up before letting out a breath.]

Watch where you throw that thing!

[ Wow, nice save! Ferris had tensed only for a second when the tower of dangos wobbled, and then relaxed again. ]

I did watch. If you had stayed put, our tower would not have been threatened.

[ Logic! ]

Nooo. If I'd stayed put I would have gone flying INTO the tower behind me to begin with.

[He growls before letting out a sigh.]

[ Ferris looked thoughtful, and nodded slowly, completely and utterly unapologetic. ]

Yes, you probably would have. And you would have made quite a racket and mess as well. You should be more considerate of people in the other rooms, Ryner.

[ Because no way is it her fault. See, she's smiling. Sorta. Kinda. Maybe... if you squint and tilt your head a little.. ]

I should be more- I'M NOT THE ONE TOSSING BOXES AS LETHAL WEAPONS!!!

[ Ferris toyed with the stick of a dango, weighing it in her hand. Then she glanced at Ryner, as if considering if she could throw the dango into his mouth to quiet his complaining. ... he might choke on it though. ]

IT was a necessary action. You should be grateful it was only a box.

Necessary? Really? And how is that even supposed to go?

[ Ferris nods, gravely. ]

If we had been under attack from an unknown assailant, my dango would be on the floor right now if you had been unable to prevent them from hitting the floor.

[.....]

[ Yeah she's gotten that look from him more than once in their travels. She settled back on her bed, turning her attention to the window instead. ]

Enough playtime.

What do you think of this type of dango?

[ She still thought the Roland ones were better but that might be bias. ]

[Again about dangos. Then again that was so like Ferris.]

What i think? Well they're pretty good. Definitely a bit more different than back in Roland.

[Yes he noticed the difference.]

[ AHA! His palate has advanced enough to distinguish the difference in taste! ]

[ You pass! YAY. ]

[ Oh, there was a part 2. ]

[When did this sudden exam start anyway? He feels like he's back with Gremer a bit]

In what way? Well ummm the Rolan ones are a bit softer? And the filling feels more vibrant?

[ Just now. She may be grooming him into a follower of the Dango God. Maybe. Or she's just having fun at his expense as usual. ]

Mmmhmm. And the flavor?

[Dammit Ferris. ]

Flavor? Well it's not bad. I'd say its close to the same really.

Hn.. You think so?

[ Clearly she didn't. She is so disappointed in you Ryner. SO disappointed. You were SO close to passing the test and being an honorary dango-ite. ..or something. ]

Hmmm like I said it's close.

[It wasn't the same. So stop giving him such a disappointed look dammit. He's not as knowledgeable about these things as you are.]

I suppose I'll leave it at that for now. You still have much to learn in the ways of the dango, after all.

[ She'll be happy to teach him too~! Heh heh. ]

What's that supposed to mean?

[Wait so he WAS being tested and that wasn't just his imagination?]

[ She pauses, pointing with a dangoless stick. ]

I mean that while our priorities in back home took precedence, I permitted your obliviousness in regards to the dango. However, that is not the case in this place. Until we find a way to return, I will take it upon myself to educate you personally on dango properly.

[ Expect her to threaten to put heavy boulders on your back to carry up mountains. This has nothing to do with dango. She thinks it'd just be funny to see. ]
