[MINI EVENT] Fayren Attacked
Who: Open.
What: Big Trouble in Little Fayren.
Where: Fayren.
When: Today. Just after midnight.
Arlen was a known summoner in Fayren. He grew up there and so did his wife Vestele. They'd been friends since childhood and started dating in their teens and marriage happened soon after. Arlen returned home and found a letter stating that Vestele had been kidnapped. And if they wanted to see them again, they needed to follow strict instructions. Enclosed in the letter was a wedding ring that belonged to Vestele, just so he would know that this was no bluff.
He was told not to tell anyone what happened and to be a specific location. If anything out of the ordinary happened, his wife would die. So he arrived at the meeting place and met a man dressed in robes, his face obscured by a hood that he was wearing. Vestele was behind the man, bound and gagged.
Before he knew it, he felt a sharp pain in his neck as an unseen assailant injected him with something. Arlen was told that he had just been injected with a poison just to make sure he cooperated. It would take his life in seventy-two hours, but if he did exactly what they wanted then they would give him the antidote. If not, in seventy two hours, he would die, and at that same time, they would take Vestele’s life as well. Arlen only cared to see Vestele set free, even if his actions led to him being imprisoned, that was fine. Just so long as Vestele was safe.
Fast forward to now, he was attempting to complete his final task. Chalk infused with his magic as well as stolen ingredients that were acquired from a thief was used to scribble intricate markings on surfaces not readily visible by people merely passing by. He could feel the point burning in his body all the while.
This preparation was completed quickly, within half an hour for him as he was well versed in this. These circles served as Point B. And Point A? Well, Point A to all of the circles were located within a monster infested ruin.
He activated the circle he was nearest to and it started a chain reaction. Start points and end points were connected and creatures were teleported into the city. Reanimated Skeletons, Fire Bats, Clockroaches and Giant Boars for good measure. Creatures that ranged from annoying to deadly in the right situation.
He completed his task, now the Hands of Decay needed to uphold their side of the bargain and release Vestele. Arlen fled from Fayren using the teleportation circle that he made to send him to the ruins while the creatures began to attack the city, from there he planned to head to his meeting point. He prayed that Vestele would be safe, and that Fayren wouldn't hate him too much.
[ooc: The TL;DR version, Summoner summons in monsters after 12AM when most people are probably in bed. He’s been blackmailed to do so. There are a large number of monsters roaming around/breaking into house/attacking people. So, mini attack in Fayren. ICly, this will only last for one hour. Probably quite a bit of property damage will happen as a result. You know, with giant boars running around and all.]

Amazing things :3
The second boar was all set to stomp down another cart, only to find that the ground was surprisingly not as firm as it thought it was. "BWAarh!!" Poor little boar goes into the ground head first, his legs flailing and massive body squirming with muffled bleats and other boar-like noises made in response. HALP!
no subject
The boar's just going to have to be stuck there for now, as Virgo didn't seem to be interested in trying to wrestle it. Her trail continues toward a small group of skeletons, prioritizing on the ones closest to Lucy.
Though, seeing as they probably rose from the ground in the first place, it may not prove quite as effective a strategy as with the boar! Only time will tell.
no subject
.. her thanks might be a little premature though, since the skeleton started to claw its way back to the surface only moments later. "..." damnit why won't they just STAY down?
no subject
"It was my pleasure," Virgo replies as she surfaces once more, astonishingly dirt-free, only to then give an astonished look at the skeleton's re-revival. Well then. "We may need a different plan for the skeletons, Princess. It is a common-" she draws back her fist, waits for the skeleton to raise it's arm to attack, then delivers a haymaker punch to its spine. Ideally it would burst into a pile of bones! "-trait for them to reform after being defeated."

SMASH!! OH DAMN, the skeleton shatters into a pile of bones, and no longer tries to reassemble. Virgo gains 500 XP and 330 red bills. Virgo gains a level! HP up 20, MP up 12 OH baby! STR +6 INT +4 --- wait wait, wrong canon. She gets NOTHING but a bone.
no subject
Oh, it didn't reassemble? Virgo is pleased that the magic seems to be focused more on quantity than quality. "It would appear my technique has dispelled the magic animating the skeleton entirely."
"I shall not let a single skeleton approach you." And so she returns to the offensive, she weaves about in a manner to gather as large a group of skeletons as possible, at which point she manages to strike each skeleton in the same spot. The dance lessons have really helped in improving her flexibility and flow- it almost looks like she's dancing!

"Counting on you," Lucy flashed her friend a smile, pulling back on the bowstring to get ready to loose another set of arrows. She wished she could see Virgo's moves though! Her maid friend was always graceful when she moved, it was really a sight to see!
By the time Virgo had finished with her group of skeletons, Lucy was lowering her bow from pincushioning a particularly persistent clockroach. "Phew..."
riohveiorh it's been five days already??!!
.... Actually.. Um. Wait a minute.
"The skeleton waves in this area have been defeated. It may be some time before another assault in this direction is made, if at... all." Virgo reports as she stands back to back with Lucy. The pause comes when something suddenly clicks.
She just now realizes that Lucy's magical abilities greatly exceed what she last remembers and.. it bothers her. Being in the heat of battle, though, Virgo cannot sort out why she feels that way.
Whoah o_o the flying of times o_o
"That's a relief. I could use a breather." She sighed heavily - though she could feel that sense of... troubled mind from Virgo through their bond shared. She should be happy! The stronger Lucy gets, the stronger Virgo gets - it went hand in hand. Be happy, you're awesome! Come on, smile, you do so so rarely!
no subject
And of course Virgo is happy, if not elated with how much Lucy has improved! But that only makes her confusion that much more puzzling to herself. Since she doesn't know how to express it, she decides it's best to brush it off so suddenly she has a small and freshly-chilled towel in her hands which she holds out for Lucy. "Please use this to cool off."
no subject
Wait, do celestial spirits get tired? Sure when they're low on magic energy, but other than that...? Oh, towel, hi there. She flashed a smile at the maid. "Thanks - you're always good at looking out for me, Virgo." She pressed the cool towel to her face, humming a soft sigh of relief.

In theory, what Lucy says isn't true. For whatever reason there is a large gap between the Lucy she knows now and the one she knew before. Thankfully the answer is simple: She needs to make up for that missing time. And so she resolves to work harder than before.
Suddenly she clenches her hands into fists. "I shall make another sweep of the area."

"I am absolutely certain. Pardon me." She bows to Lucy then sinks into the ground once more.
