[MINI EVENT] Fayren Attacked
Who: Open.
What: Big Trouble in Little Fayren.
Where: Fayren.
When: Today. Just after midnight.
Arlen was a known summoner in Fayren. He grew up there and so did his wife Vestele. They'd been friends since childhood and started dating in their teens and marriage happened soon after. Arlen returned home and found a letter stating that Vestele had been kidnapped. And if they wanted to see them again, they needed to follow strict instructions. Enclosed in the letter was a wedding ring that belonged to Vestele, just so he would know that this was no bluff.
He was told not to tell anyone what happened and to be a specific location. If anything out of the ordinary happened, his wife would die. So he arrived at the meeting place and met a man dressed in robes, his face obscured by a hood that he was wearing. Vestele was behind the man, bound and gagged.
Before he knew it, he felt a sharp pain in his neck as an unseen assailant injected him with something. Arlen was told that he had just been injected with a poison just to make sure he cooperated. It would take his life in seventy-two hours, but if he did exactly what they wanted then they would give him the antidote. If not, in seventy two hours, he would die, and at that same time, they would take Vestele’s life as well. Arlen only cared to see Vestele set free, even if his actions led to him being imprisoned, that was fine. Just so long as Vestele was safe.
Fast forward to now, he was attempting to complete his final task. Chalk infused with his magic as well as stolen ingredients that were acquired from a thief was used to scribble intricate markings on surfaces not readily visible by people merely passing by. He could feel the point burning in his body all the while.
This preparation was completed quickly, within half an hour for him as he was well versed in this. These circles served as Point B. And Point A? Well, Point A to all of the circles were located within a monster infested ruin.
He activated the circle he was nearest to and it started a chain reaction. Start points and end points were connected and creatures were teleported into the city. Reanimated Skeletons, Fire Bats, Clockroaches and Giant Boars for good measure. Creatures that ranged from annoying to deadly in the right situation.
He completed his task, now the Hands of Decay needed to uphold their side of the bargain and release Vestele. Arlen fled from Fayren using the teleportation circle that he made to send him to the ruins while the creatures began to attack the city, from there he planned to head to his meeting point. He prayed that Vestele would be safe, and that Fayren wouldn't hate him too much.
[ooc: The TL;DR version, Summoner summons in monsters after 12AM when most people are probably in bed. He’s been blackmailed to do so. There are a large number of monsters roaming around/breaking into house/attacking people. So, mini attack in Fayren. ICly, this will only last for one hour. Probably quite a bit of property damage will happen as a result. You know, with giant boars running around and all.]

"Lucy! Lucy get up!"

Wait, it was super early - there's only one reason he'd wake her up like that. That fog of sleepiness cleared in her head real quick, as she listened carefully. "I'm up, I'm up -!" she scrambled to her feet. Man, the one night she went to bed early - though with the amount of summoning she'd been doing, she had needed that extra sleep.

"These guys shouldn't be here. None of the things I can smell should be anywhere near this place!"

Loki got up from his seat and looked outside the window to see bats and boars outside, doing all they could to damage the place. Well shit.
"Anubis, I'm going out! Take care of Yui for me!" Loki made sure to yell this as loud as he could so that Anubis would wake up - if he hadn't with the noises around them already. Then he changed into his god form before jumping out of the window. Of course, he knew how to fly so he would be fine even after a stunt like that.
"Oi, bastards! What the hell do you think you're doing?" This yell was to get a boar's attention from the buildings so he could shoot fire straight to its face.

"Hey, do you want to join up?" she asked, floating in the air near him while she smiled a bit to make herself appear friendly. "I'm Vita. I wish the circumstances were a little better for our first meeting."
no subject
Noticing that she was approaching him, Loki stayed where he was for the time being. "No. If we work together, we can cover more ground." Speaking of ground, sending more fire since there's a new boar around. "I'm Loki."
OTA
"Fang!?" Not in his bed, and not in the room at all. Which meant...
... He snuck out again! "Ooooh! I truly am going to get that tracking device now..!" She quickly woke Cui up, grabbed her glaive and bolted outside into the chaos. While she was keeping an eye out for her partner, she might as well help cull the number of annoying things making a mess here. The second she stepped outside, she almost stopped in shock at the number of clockwork roaches and firebats infesting the place. DIS. GUSTING. "Filthy vermin..! Begone with you!" She snapped, more irritated her partner took off without a word than that the town was invaded by ..THINGS.
no subject
"Fang to your left!" He heard a voice warn him from inside his head and turned around just in time to see another boar charging at him full tilt.
no subject
She shifted her weapon back to glaive mode, glancing around, "Fa-OOF!" Knocked forward rather abruptly by a roach, she swung around, her glaive slicing through it right in time to meet another enemy - the skeleton's sword clanged roughly into her glaive, knocking her off her feet. Fortunately she kept her grip on her weapon, glaring up at the skeleton as she struggled to get back up. Maybe she should have been paying closer attention to her surroundings and less to looking for her partner, or anyone else who was in trouble!

+1 Reindeer to the fray! Open tagging behind the inn
Chopper leaped down from the loft and ran around unbolting all the stalls and shooing the occupants out into the open yard of the inn. They'd be far better off able to run away freely than hope the thin board stalls would manage to protect them. And just as he got the last one out, a trio of boars rounded into the yard and charged the herd with squeals of glee. They didn't get more than a few feet before a huge set of horns sent them flying. "Pick on someone your own size you fucking assholes!!"
Chopper's head turned towards the horses and mules and tossed his head. "Head to the forests, okay? Just make sure to come back when it's safe!"

He pulled his shining blade from the scabbard at his hip, the runes etched along the blade flaring in white light before receding. Whatever was riling up the beasts and unleashing them on the innocent population of Fayren was going to answer to him, he was determined, though the rational part of his mind knew part of that rage the Sword pulled from him, raising his anger to increase his strength, speed, and agility.
The first boar met the sword cleanly, the blade slicing through it's skull as it moved to charge him. He pivoted, using the momentum of its charge to pull the sword free and slice downward on the other's neck as it approached, removing it cleanly. Richard turned, then, surveying the yard and pleased to see the boars were moving on for now.
He turned his attention to the reindeer, still not certain he'd heard it speak.
"You freed the horses. Good idea."
no subject
Once they were gone, Chopper sniffed the air and shifted to a slightly more humanoid shape. "I'm Chopper... Doctor for the Strawhat Pirates. Those boar aren't natural, and it smells like there are a few other creatures with them. Bats and bugs, and..." Another long sniff. "Bones?"

Levy Mcgarden | Open
once ready she runs from her house, trying to reach the bookshop before it's leveled. Her barriers manage to keep everything out though there are flaming bats running into the side of her shield as if trying to break through. It had taken her a long time to get that barrier up and now she's glad though the destruction of the city has her worried. She places her hands together and shouts at the bats.]
ICE!
[The word appears in the air above them before crashing over the bats heads. It at least knocks them out.
With that done Levy turns towards the city and runs, trying her best to lend a hand wherever she can.]

Whatever it was, it was deliberate. The glaring white light of his rune-etched blade was like a beacon in the night, and he allowed that light to guide his eyes as he fought the collected skeletons and other beasts.
The bats were giving him the most trouble, though. They were opportunistic attackers, waiting for swoop in at his head after he was pinned down by other things on the ground.
Where was a good gout of Wizard's fire when you needed one?]

Kahlan | OPEN
She moves artfully and skillfully unable to move past the hordes of monsters in the streets. She hopes that Richard has better luck saving those who are caught up in this madness. A piercing scream calls in the distant and kahlans blood runs cold though she doesn't pull her focus away from the targets in front of her.
She's quick, attempting to make her way towards those in need but even more and more monsters keep appearing.]

Even as monsters skeletons are easy to break. [Gripping hard, she crushed the skull and let the remains fall to the ground. As soon as she looked over she could see someone else trying there hardest. She could tell it was for the good way. The boring way.]
Trying to help the people, huh? Not just in this to have fun?

Richard Cypher
[It was the sound of shattering glass that awoke him first. He rolls to his feet, hand grasping the Sword of Truth as he did so by instinct alone, and he turned toward the window, the only source of the sound his half-asleep mind could identify for the sound that had woken him. What was crawling into their room at the inn was not something Richard had ever seen before, skeletal remains armed with weapons with bits of flesh clinging to their clattering frames pulled themselves in through the broken window frame, flickering flames of blue alight in their hollow sockets. Surely this was a nightmare.]
Kahlan! Wake up! We have company!
[He pulled the Sword of Truth from its scabbard, hearing other screams of terror from further inside the inn, and moved himself between the bed on which Kahlan had been sleeping and the window from which the monstrosities were pouring. They didn't hesitate. They opened their jaws, a fleshless hiss issuing from their gaping maws, and they charged. Richard set about deflecting their blows, and sliced at their limbs when he could. The enchanted steel of his blade hewed through bone as easily as flesh as he defended them from these surely evil creatures, though more and more kept coming. He only hoped Kahlan was ready.]
B; OPEN TO ANY
[Having secured the inn, Richard and Kahlan moved to the streets were cries for help could clearly be heard over the din of the attacking monsters. In the fray, he was separated from Kahlan, but torn as well. So many were being attacked he didn't even know where to start first. This attack was intentional, that much was obvious. it was like an act of terror. Why else send a horde of monsters into a sleeping village? They were intentionally heading for closed buildings, even the skeletons which couldn't have anything to think with.
All these innocent people and he couldn't even figure out the reason behind it. The runes along the length of his blade flared with white light as he made his way through town, allowing the sword to swell and temper his anger and increase his strength. He needed it if he was going to make a dent in the swelling population of monsters.]

What are they?
[Her voice is low as she steps towards the back wall. She waits for Richard to start and then picks up where he leaves off. She's used to fighting with him and as the hideous creatures slip past him she meets them with the quick slices of her blades.]
The inn keeper!
[Kahlan begins to move towards the door to their room knowing that it isn't just them who's beign attacked.]

Take care of some of those bats for me! [He shouted to the bird as it flapped its wings and sent a powerful chill through the air, one that froze the bats and caused them to fall to the ground.]
Man, monsters should really have a curfew. [No attacking this late at night. That should be an unspoken rule.]

Being a youkai, Satori's sleep patterns were as different from humans and other species as could be. Instead of resting, she'd been doing some light writing to relax herself...when the news from the panicked animal went through her like a knife. Fayren under attack, beasts roaming the streets. She stood up from her desk in a calm ferocity as only she could manage. She'd pledged to defend this place from attack, and that's exactly what she'd have to do!
It wasn't all that long before Satori had called an announcement to gather whatever forces could spare themselves to help clear up the interlopers. No sooner than she'd been out of the tunnels near the Archway, she'd assembled the remnants of Fayren's defense forces that weren't tied up in active fighting. This was exactly the kind of situation she'd feared, and considering the Hands of Decay had shown their hand in announcing their rebellion against Fayren's order, she suspected this was their doing.
As the mind-reader stood amidst her group of defenders, heading into the city proper, their shared thoughts were mainly about taking back what the enemy had already ruined. Satori had one goal in mind: this was her responsibility, these were her people, and she would not stand for this. Fayren would not see its guardian fail to deliver...

She wasn't going to let a new close ally have all the fun.
With her legion of dolls already and always on stand-by, Alice was ready to march alongside the Fayren guardian. And once the soldiers began their march on the ground, her legion took to the air.
The dolls were in formations based on their weapons. Dolls with shields in front. With lances behind the shields. And archer dolls formed in the back. When Alice arrived in Genessia, she had two dolls. And now, under her command, she had roughly 200, possibly more. The puppeteer always seemed to have more lying in wait somewhere.
As the armies moved to meet their enemy in open battle, Alice took a spot beside the satori youkai to speak candidly on strategy.]
"If you agree to it, Satori, I can have my Legion round up as many of these beasts as possible for yours to exterminate."
[The magician youkai peered over at her ally.]
"If any survive, I'll finish them off."
[Once she finished her suggestion, she waited for the guardian's answer.]

Which basically means, his snakes, many of them and of varying sizes (and also sort of magical because they belong to a deity), are going to have the time of their lives eating monsters (and people, if the people doesn't watch out) because yum.
After Action: At the Inn
deadinjured! Bring out your non-fighters wanting to help! Or hide... Chopper made the inn a bit of a barricaded medical center during the attack. Do you need a bandaid? A major blood transfusion after getting an arm cut off? Or perhaps you just wanted a safe table to hide under until a little blue-nosed reindeer appeared and left you somehow in charge of boiling water? This thread is for you!]
