[MINI EVENT] Fayren Attacked
Who: Open.
What: Big Trouble in Little Fayren.
Where: Fayren.
When: Today. Just after midnight.
Arlen was a known summoner in Fayren. He grew up there and so did his wife Vestele. They'd been friends since childhood and started dating in their teens and marriage happened soon after. Arlen returned home and found a letter stating that Vestele had been kidnapped. And if they wanted to see them again, they needed to follow strict instructions. Enclosed in the letter was a wedding ring that belonged to Vestele, just so he would know that this was no bluff.
He was told not to tell anyone what happened and to be a specific location. If anything out of the ordinary happened, his wife would die. So he arrived at the meeting place and met a man dressed in robes, his face obscured by a hood that he was wearing. Vestele was behind the man, bound and gagged.
Before he knew it, he felt a sharp pain in his neck as an unseen assailant injected him with something. Arlen was told that he had just been injected with a poison just to make sure he cooperated. It would take his life in seventy-two hours, but if he did exactly what they wanted then they would give him the antidote. If not, in seventy two hours, he would die, and at that same time, they would take Vestele’s life as well. Arlen only cared to see Vestele set free, even if his actions led to him being imprisoned, that was fine. Just so long as Vestele was safe.
Fast forward to now, he was attempting to complete his final task. Chalk infused with his magic as well as stolen ingredients that were acquired from a thief was used to scribble intricate markings on surfaces not readily visible by people merely passing by. He could feel the point burning in his body all the while.
This preparation was completed quickly, within half an hour for him as he was well versed in this. These circles served as Point B. And Point A? Well, Point A to all of the circles were located within a monster infested ruin.
He activated the circle he was nearest to and it started a chain reaction. Start points and end points were connected and creatures were teleported into the city. Reanimated Skeletons, Fire Bats, Clockroaches and Giant Boars for good measure. Creatures that ranged from annoying to deadly in the right situation.
He completed his task, now the Hands of Decay needed to uphold their side of the bargain and release Vestele. Arlen fled from Fayren using the teleportation circle that he made to send him to the ruins while the creatures began to attack the city, from there he planned to head to his meeting point. He prayed that Vestele would be safe, and that Fayren wouldn't hate him too much.
[ooc: The TL;DR version, Summoner summons in monsters after 12AM when most people are probably in bed. He’s been blackmailed to do so. There are a large number of monsters roaming around/breaking into house/attacking people. So, mini attack in Fayren. ICly, this will only last for one hour. Probably quite a bit of property damage will happen as a result. You know, with giant boars running around and all.]

[Levy nods flashing Richard a confident smile. Fairy Tail never gave up and they always fought for others.]
You bet!
[Without warning or waiting Levy runs towards the nearest house. She listens carefully for anyone inside before shouting.]
ANYONE HERE! I'M HERE TO HELP!
no subject
Thanks to Levy's shouting, though several of the monsters turned from their attempted entry to face them. Richard didn't hesitate, leading with his sword, runes glowing white once more in the midnight blackness.]
I guess that's one way to get their attention! Where are we taking them?
no subject
Bullet!
[Her fingers move apart and the creatures coming out the door are all hit with a bombardment of seed like bullets. She turns towards Richard with a nod of her head towards the upstairs window.]
You slip through and go protect them. I'll hold here and try and keep their attention.
no subject
[Before he even finished his statement his mind was already working through the problem.]
The inn! Chopper has it fortified as a triage center! Hold them off while I take them out the back!
no subject
Fire!
[Flames shot out and as they do Levy pulls a pen from her pocket and begins to write ruins in the air.]
no subject
He doesn't know how long she can keep up what she's doing, either, but he stops wasting time, heading inside to round up the people there and leading them out the back.
The inn isn't far, either, and what he ends up doing is simply clearing the way. He's going to be heading back to Levy now, though he does notice the throng seems to be thinning.]
How are you holding up!?
no subject
Hi.
[She smiles at Richard pushing her tiredness away.]
Good. I'm holding them more than fighting right now though.
[If Richard tries to go through the door, he'll find that he can't either.]
no subject
He makes quick work of them.]
You look spent.
no subject
I was fighting for a while before I ran into you.
[She pushes herself off the door frame.]
But yeah I'm a little tired. How are you?
no subject
I can go for a while yet, but we can't keep this up forever. They seem to be thinning, though.
no subject
Yeah, it looks like whatever called them has died out so there are only a few left.
[She stands with a smile.]
We're lucky you were here. I don't think we've really met so ...[She holds out her hand.] I'm Levy McGarden. A member of Fairy Tail and the owner of Scribes and Scripts which is towards the south point of town.
no subject
I only did what I could. [He takes her hand, returning his sword to its scabbard before doing so.] Richard Cypher. [A beat.] Fairy Tail? Is that...the mage's guild?
no subject
Yup! I've been a part of it all my life. There are a few members here actually.
[Though their guild hall more or less stands empty.]
Nice to meet someone where I don't have to explain that to them.
no subject
[And that smile wavers.]
Which makes this Hands of Decay group even more troubling.
no subject
Yeah, I mean... my world has a lot of good wizards and a lot of bad ones. It just depends on the people.
[She shakes her head.]
I can't understand the Hands of Decay. I don't think what they are doing is right.
no subject
[And by the determined set of his jaw, it's clear he doesn't mean to stand for it.]
This was magic, though. Do you think they have wizards allied with them?
no subject
No... I think they forced someone. They'd never work with a mage but they'd certainly use one.
[Her brows furrow, clearly just as upset as Richard is.]
They're cowards. They won't even come out and fight.
no subject
Has anyone ever seen any of them?
no subject
I know Lucy's been trying to help and I'm sure the other members of Fairy Tail are too.
no subject
We need to find them. They're hiding somewhere, most likely right under our noses.
no subject
I think I need some rest though.
[She hopes that's okay because she's about to fall over. She just has to make it back to her shop, there isn't a bed but there are a lot of books and a blanket.]
no subject
Well, I didn't mean right now.
no subject
I'm used to my friends who just run into things.
[She honestly doesn't know how they have so much energy for it since they are usually bruised and broken by that point.]
no subject
[He's been known to do that himself, but Kahlan is out here somewhere.]
I need to find someone. We were separated when we left the inn.
no subject
Maybe I can help?
[Though she isn't sure if she can in her current state of weariness.]
