Hello. I don't know all of you, but I'm contacting you because you're friends of Weiss. Her birthday is coming up on the 19th, so I've decided to plan a surprise party for her at our mansion at [address] in Nova City. I'd like to invite all of you to be there. I will hopefully manage to get her there around five - but if anybody wants to come earlier and help set up, you're more than welcome to.

Is there any chance you'd be willing to help me plan the party? You know Weiss more than I do, and I don't have any experience with this kind of thing.

Though juice or soda for the underage ones. Anyone I catch giving Ruby alcohol gets a one way trip to the hospital.

Hey Weiss, we have a bit of a problem. The city sent back some of the paperwork making me acting CEO while you're in office, and I think I may need your help sorting it out. I'm booked at work today - is there any chance you could meet me back at my place to go over it? Around five or so?

Uhg, of course there's a problem. [ She is having a day, Armin. A day. And she just wanted to relax and go get a massage to treat herself for her birthday. So she very much doesn't sound pleased. ] Fine, I'll be there.

Setting Up

[Armin had taken the day off to set up for the party - cleaning, cooking, decorating, setting out drinks and games and such, and making signs for people to avoid the upper levels where the floors are still in danger of collapsing, among other things. No matter how good he is with military logistics, however, he's never hosted a party before, so he'd appreciate anyone who wanted to help.

Alternately, if anybody has their own plans to put into motion for this party, those threads can go here as well.]

[ For now, Sertoria's only wearing her usual garments, however she has a more formal dress with her to change into later on. Along with that, she's brought over a couple of dishes for the party. She arrives within a few minutes of replying to Armin's message with a bright smile on her face, arms full with bags of supplies, the aforementioned dishes, her dress in a bag -- the works. ]

Hello, Mr. Arlert! I hope this is enough for those who are coming. Do you need help with anything?

[If Armin okayed it, Pyrrha showed up later as she said she would in casual wear compared to her normal armor. She had explained that Weiss was a friend of hers from back home so that she wasn't just some random stranger or anything to him. Maybe to him, but not to Weiss.

She helped out with whatever was needed of her, but she focused on decorating, cleaning, and any other tasks that needed to be done.]

[Mikasa couldn't leave everything up to Armin (because he worked more than enough as it was), so she had already started to help out without even bothering to ask him.]

[Yang's good for helping set things up. Especially the heavy stuff as might be seen when she's carrying whole tables with one arm. She's also been bringing in drinks of her own choosing, though it might look a bit odd that she's bringing in a whole box of tiny paper umbrellas to those that don't know her. She's dressed in her outfit from her school dance, a normal white dress that doesn't show her off.]

Weiss' Arrival

[It's not a surprise party without everyone jumping out from an apparently empty darkened room - or so says Armin's research, anyway. So everyone is hiding in the main foyer with the lights off around the time Weiss should be arriving - with a couple of scattered lights on other places in the house, to avoid being suspicious - and Armin is waiting near the door.]

[ The hiding part Mayu goes along with. He picks a comfortable spot. Unfortunately, by the time Weiss shows up, Mayu is asleep. Thankfully, he isn't snoring.]

[ Guess who's coming in right on time and seems like she has a bit of an attitude right now. Mostly because Armin told her she has to do work instead of get her birthday massage. She was already wearing something completely casual since she had planned on still trying to make her 5:15 appointment if she could. Needless to say she she wouldn't be making it. ]

Let's get this over with. [ Aaand she knocks. ]

The Party

[Once the party has been in full swing for a while, Armin sneaks away to the library. he sighs in relief as the door closes behind him, tension immediately draining away. He enjoys company, and likes most of the people there - he just prefers to interact with them in smaller numbers. Besides which, being a host is exhausting.

The library always calms him down, though - even as it still fills him with a strange sense of awe. Not only does it exist, but it's his. He walks slowly around the edge of the room, fingers trailing over the spines of the books. So many books - so much knowledge and so many stories at his fingertips.

Eventually he chooses a book and makes his way over to curl up in a large, cushy armchair. Anyone who enters will find him like that - and unless they're terribly noisy about it, he may be too engrossed to even notice their entrance.]

[Pyrrha knew that she had to do something for Weiss's birthday, and while she didn't realize it was coming up so soon, she managed to find a nice snowflake necklace for a gift at least. it wasn't much, but it was all she could really afford at the moment. She exchanged her normal armor for a more casual look. There was no need to wear armor for something like this after all, right? She can be found roaming around while trying to talk to new people or just getting something to drink. At least the whole... dinner business was behind them somewhat. Thankfully for that, she wasn't nearly as... riled up.]

[ Sasha barely knows Weiss- she only knows her in the way that everyone knows Weiss, you know, the kindof bossy chick who you sort of meet when you first show up in the docks?

But, the party is conveniently located in her home, and Sasha's never one to miss out on a party (or food), so she can be found leaning against a wall near the snack table, her own plate of food piled high, trying not to drool everywhere.]

[At some point during the party, Jaune leaves the room for a few minutes. When he comes back, it's with a guitar. He makes sure Weiss is around before he clears his throat once and waves.]

'Scuse me everyone! I think we all know why we're here...because it's Weiss' birthday. In case anyone didn't know that which you should. So yeah, Happy Birthday Weiss Schnee! We all owe a lot to you, and I'm pretty sure I can speak for everyone when I say you're important to everyone in this room.

[ After Weiss realized this was a surprise party and not Armin deciding to pull her away from her massage on her birthday because he couldn't wait until morning to get some papers signed, Weiss was in a considerably better mood. Massage canceled? Sure. But she had friends who cared about her enough to set all of this up. Even if she felt a little under dressed for a party, she was still very much enjoying herself.

Well.. sort of. She isn't quite sure what to do at a party when she doesn't have to be on top of everything. It's been a long while since she's been to a party that she didn't plan. ]

Presents and chillaxing

[ Mayu puts his presents for Weiss with the others. A paper bag with simple writing is his idea of wrapping. He gives her the exact brands of moisturizer and other product that she uses for her nightly routines. There is also an advanced copy of the 3rd volume of Closest Love to Heaven. He knows Weiss isn't too fond of shoujo manga so he added a note saying "My brother insisted."

For the parts of the party where he isn't napping, he's finding some other way to relax.]

Cleanup

[It's early morning before the party finally peters out - but despite how late it is, or the fact that it's a Tuesday, Armin can still be found in the middle of things, cleaning up, finding people places to sleep, or making sure they get home safely.

[Pyrrha had offered to help clean up afterwords, so she kept to her word. She was assisting Armin when she realized that he seemed pretty tired. Well... She was tired herself, but that didn't stop her concern for the boy.]
