[ It's cold.
The cold is the first thing Reiji notices, because he doesn't remember it being winter, and also because it chills his entire body from the inside. It's not natural at all, a faint realization that is soon confirmed by the fact that this isn't his room at all.
Most people would panic upon being confronted with a panel of some sort of clear plexiglass very close to his face. Reiji does too for about three seconds before his eyes spot some irregularities on the inside of the panel, and a few moments of fumbling later it opens with a soft pneumatic hiss.
The heir sits up, rubbing his eyes to clear them and not recognizing the bay area at all. Half of him suspects it's a dream, but the other half points out that it feels too lucid to be one. He turns to look down, and his still-sluggish mind takes all of three seconds to process what exactly it could have been. ]
Gosh, please don't tell me this is a coffin.
[ Truly, the most witty of comments. ]
a good while later, mass text;
Hello everyone! The name is Suwa Reiji, and I've got a quick question or two.
Is anyone here from Kanagawa Prefecture, or otherwise Japan? I've just arrived here with a friend and we're looking for anyone from the same area. As well as any news or tips you can give us, that would be greatly appreciated too.
I understand that people from all professions come here; could anyone point me to places that could reasonably hire performers or athletes? I'll be keeping an eye out for it myself, but advice would make it a lot easier.
Thanks a bunch!
[ ooc: replies will come from both of them! ]

Can't say I've heard of either of those places, but that's not to say there's not someone here that is. One of those things you'll have to figure out for yourself, unfortunately.
As for places that are hiring... What kind of performers and what kind of athletes? There's a few different gyms and dojos around here, as far as I'm aware, but being a little more detailed on the matter would probably help.
[She's pausing in her typing for a moment, debating on if she should give this one her name or not. Eh, it's not like it'll hurt anything, she supposes.]
Nice to meet you... Reiji, I assume it is? [Name structures are weird.] I'm Eighteen, just Eighteen. [No need to tell anything more than that.]

[ Maybe this meant something to this person. ]
Pleasure to meet you as well.
[ action ]
Reiji would be greeted by that soft smile that the relationer normally wears and his head inclines, eyes slid to a close as his form visibly relaxes along with his facial expression. ]
Reiji-sama, I'm so pleased to see you.
[ It's then that he realizes how cold Reiji must be and he immediately shrugs out of his jacket, resting it on the heir's shoulders. ] Here -- I don't want you to get sick.
no subject
Thanks. [ He slips the jacket on, willing himself to not shiver. It works. ] I'd suppose you know where we are?
[ Reiji doesn't look at Shizuma directly, violet eyes scanning their surroundings. One hand pulls his phone out of a pocket - it's still there, something also a pleasant surprise, and he checks the time.
Hm. ]

I glimpsed at the items we were given and this appears to be Genessia.
[ He motions to the box and the pamphlet that were near the heir, shoulders slacking slightly. ]
They gave us a necklace, a device known as a videophone which I believe is similar to our own phones, a pamphlet that describes this place and some red bills which I've assumed are this world's currency. That much I've been able to gather so far.

--Oh, where are my manners? I'm Takeda Hikaru, Superintendent General to the PIPE and Deputy Guardian of Everglade. It's a pleasure to meet you, Suwa-san.
As far as performers, there's the Genessia Center Arts Theatre. I'd be more than happy to show you it as well as a place to stay. Athletes... I believe there's a swim club around here, as well as a few gyms and dojos. What sort of sport are you most interested in?
no subject
[ Seems like he's attracted the attention of the higher-ups, interesting. ]
I'm a stride runner, though I have my relationer with me. That's all, I'm afraid.
no subject
[ Stride... What an interesting term. Though Hikaru doesn't know what stride running, at least she has an inkling of an idea with what he's given her. ]
I'm afraid I don't exactly know what you mean by a stride runner, however if it's similar to track racing, I'm sure we can set something up. Is a relationer similar to that of a public relations representative?

As for where one can hire performers, there is a theatre and people hire for such a thing at store openings and events, so you can also make yourself freelance. But that pay for that is more unstable.
no subject
I could pay a visit to the theatre, yes. Do you know if they have any interest in traditional Japanese dance?
Have to used head canon because well fictional place with no actual prefecture
ah, the pain of vague videogames....

Why not just hit up the welcome center? Otherwise I know a bunch of highschool kids started a swim club thing.
[Ib doesn't see the point of that or how it can make money but she hardly gives it much thought.]

I'm not a swimmer, but I'll keep that in mind.

What kind of athlete are you? The Sand Gym is hiring, and if you're more into theatre, Genessia has a Center of the Arts.
I'm Mikoshiba Mikoto.

I'm a stride runner. My friend is a relationer.
Nice to meet you.
no subject
[Oh. He really is an athlete. Mikoto tries not to be intimidated.]
I'm sure you'll find something. Nice to meet you too, Suwa-san.
