2nd Shadow | [Log]
Who: Alter Cipher, Ivina Darcann
What: Holier Than Thou bounty
When: Late night, January 31st
Where: Everglade
Warnings: Violence, potential murder and/or mind screwing, possible touchy-feely-ness
[Cipher had heard of that renegade priest when he was first mentioned in the newspaper, but thought nothing of it. It was none of his concern, as he had anticipated that someone would have put a quick end to the man before he were to kill anyone else, and he wasn't interested in getting his hands dirty so soon upon his arrival. However, when the recent paper came around and the man was still loose and continuing to end the lives of others, Cipher wasn't going to turn a blind eye again. Not this time. He'd decided to pay a visit to this man personally, and show him just what playing God would lead to.
In the guise of Liam, he approached the cathedral, where two crows were perched high upon its walls. He looked up at them, acknowledging the presence of his two familiars before stepping inside. Upon entering, shadows swirled around him before vanishing in a flourish of black feathers, the man entering the church's walls in his demon form. The smell of death was hanging in the air, desecrating such a grand cathedral with its offensive odor.
The priest clearly wasn't happy to see a demon in his church, but before he was able to speak, a shadow was quick to wrap around the man's neck as Cipher narrowed his eyes, his arm extended forward.]
So just what is it that makes you think you have the right to play God? That you have any jurisdiction over who is to be cleansed in the city, and who is 'pure' enough to earn your blessing to allow them to continue breathing?
[He slowly closed his hand, allowing the shadow to tighten around the priest's neck.]
You're nothing but a lowly mortal. Do not believe that your 'faith' puts you above others.
[While he was focused on the priest, he heard the caws of his two crows outside, potentially signalling of a new arrival. Still, he wasn't concerned. Whoever it was would be free to walk in on a potential murder scene for all he cared. The man had to pay for his actions.]

My my... What is going on here? I believe the law of playing with citizens only applied if they stepped out of their homes.

This filth is by no means a 'citizen' and the law does not reach out to this one. Not to one who believes he is above all else and caused the dwellers of this city to cry for outside aid.

But, she doesn't really care what the priest did or what happens to him. She's far too selfish to bother with so many things going on around her at the moment, but what did catch her attention was why Cipher is so mad at this man]
A demon with a taste for justice? You are unique.
[She smiled, shrugging her bare shoulders then walking to inspect the statues near her. But before she got so absorbed by the craftsmanship, she turned and nonchalantly asked]
But why, I wonder, does this man's actions struck a chord with you?

[He threw his arm downwards, throwing the priest down to the floor, the marble floor cracking beneath him. He wouldn't kill the man yet. He was going to enjoy breaking the man - physically and mentally.
Cipher's eyes flashed gold. The priest hastened to stand, albeit weakly, as visions of horrific creatures appeared around him. Creatures that weren't there to Cipher and Ivina, but they were very real to the priest.]
The man believes he is the one to cleanse the city, and that he has the right to decide who lives and who dies. Regardless of whether it is human or not.
I have killed the gods themselves for such transgressions against my kind and others. I shall not stand by and let a human believe he is capable of such decisions so long as I draw breath.

She let her glare fix on Cipher for a second out of instinct, remembering her past where she had dealings with people like both the priest and Cipher. It was a horrible memory. With a long sigh and a shrug of her shoulder, she let Cipher go about his business.]
Do make it entertaining, at the very least. Here I was hoping to see this Cathedral's inner halls, but its guardian shall soon vanish into the void. Such a shame, truly...
[Ivina said in a flat tone of voice before she vanishes and reappeared at the altar seat, getting a closer look at the action from where she sat.]

[Cipher made no further motions for the time being as the priest would be fighting off hellish beings that were nothing more than a figment of his imagination. His eyes narrowed. Perhaps he wouldn't kill the priest, but merely let him suffer in his illusions and simply drive him mad.]
Unless it's that you wanted a tour. I would not be surprised if another priest would rise to take this man's place once I am through with him. Being rid of one over zealous man does not erase the entire faith.
[He slowly turned his gaze towards Ivina, lowering his head slightly.]
Although, are you truly hear simply to sight see, or is there a different reason for your arrival?

You could say that. I am feeling too confined within this world, and I don't like it.
[She throws the scepter away, making it clank against the marble floor]
I have been searching for ample locations. Places where magical energy is concentrated and powerful enough for myself to benefit from.
