What is love?

How do you know when you’ve felt it?

Is it the same for everyone?

I just don't understand.

Yes...when you lose the one you love, the emptiness they filled becomes all too real.

As for my love...he's still back home. But at least I know he's alive.

I know what it feels to be empty... but I've never loved before.

Ah, well...not everyone is fortunate enough to find the right mate. But you shouldn't let that discourage you either. Some...people find happiness even when they're single.

Though I am curious...why do you ask about love? Is it because of this holiday?

[Her voice trails off for a moment and next she speaks it's softer.]

I don't think I can feel love.

[She doesn't really believe that Terra can't feel love. She seems like a sweet person.]

I've never felt love... any sort of it and I'm not human... I know that it doesn't mean I can't love but I'm the last of my race and so there is one I can ask.

What if they couldn't feel love?

Well...that kind of love isn't something you can really look for. It just comes to you when the time is right. And you'll know when it does come.

So I wouldn't trouble myself over it. I'd say just keep living as you normally would. And then perhaps one day, some sort of circumstance will bring you and your potential mate together.

For me, that circumstance was the plague. If not for that, I wouldn't have met my mate...

But not understanding has hurt someone I care very much about.

[Someone who confessed to her.]

You care about someone...so you can feel love.

[But the only way a person could be hurt by her lack of understanding could be if they felt love for her.]

Is there someone who has those feelings for you?

I see. Perhaps he wasn't the right one anyway...or perhaps you just need more time. Maybe you could just be friends in the meantime?
