Exploration - Genessia part 2

Where: Genessia - Game stores, toy stores, any popular places for children. Name your place.
What: Looking for fun things.

[Losing a dear friend has been rough on her, and being asked out by a Pokemon didn't do anything for her either. Anastasia was in desperate need to find the good times again. Anything at all that can give her a sense of normalcy from the days before she met Mamoru.

Following on past successes up until Attleton, Anastasia went back out into Genessia city to look for anything that might be fun, with her Sylveon walking close beside her. But her current state of mind prevents her fro recognizing something fun. She had heard of places called "game stores" and "toy stores." She might go to one of these.

Anastasia eventually finds a store, looking up to read the sign.]

"...Is this it...?"

[After getting Ted's message Takato had gone out looking for Anastasia. Even if they'd never really talked before, if she was feeling bad Takato wanted to help. He finally finds her in front of a game store.]

Um, hello?

[Both Anastasia and her Sylveon perked up when they heard a voice, looking around for the source. Her Sylveon found it first and signaled for her owner.

Anastasia looked over and saw the boy. She is still rather unsure around them.]

"Oh... Hello... Do you need something? Or... Am I blocking the way?"

[dreamtamer]

Takato shakes his head.

"Oh no, you're not blocking anything. I just thought you looked familiar. You live in the kid's house too, right?"

[innocent_royal]

[Anastasia blinks, slightly tilting her head to the side inquisitively for a moment.]

"Well, yes. I do live in the home for children."

[She doesn't know for how much longer, though.]

[dreamtamer]

Me too! I thought you looked familiar.

[innocent_royal]

[She wasn't sure what to say at the moment and tries to remember if she has seen him around. It doesn't really matter anymore.]

"Well... I think you and I are the only ones left in the children's home now.

My name is Anastasia."

[She dips into a well-practiced curtsy with her introduction for a moment before straightening back out.]

Nice to meet you! I'm Takato.

[He shifts a little awkwardly at the curtsy, not really sure what the right response was. At the last moment he dips his head in a quick awkward bow. ]

"Takato... It's nice to meet you too."

[She noticed his fidgeting and wondered why.]

"So, what brings you around here?"

[dreamtamer]

Oh, Mr. Ted said you were upset about something.

[Takato gives her a slightly awkward smile.]

I know we haven't really met, but I guess I worry about people a lot.

[pinklight]

[Hikari rather enjoyed having some time off. So today she was just having a nice little wonder around and making a day of it by not having a single idea of what she was going to do. So going to a game shop she was considering buying a game for her pokemon to enjoy and instead spotted someone standing outside.]

Going game shopping?

[Anastasia looked to see who spoke to her. It was nice to meet another girl.]

"Hm? Is this where I can find games? I can't really understand some of these shop names sometimes."

[pinklight]

Shop names don't always make it obvious as to what they sell, but some show what they sell in the windows if you look.

[She points and in the window there appeared to be advertisements for various games, some at discounts.]

So while the name might not make it obvious the window does.

"Oh, I see... So these are all art of games?"

[Looking at what she assumes are the trending game posters. Anastasia has no idea what to make from images of men standing in the center of the image with their backs to the viewer. And there were a lot of similar images. She turns to the other girl once more.]

"Well, I'll go see what they carry. Can you recommend anything for me?"

[pinklight]

I don't really play games much, so I can't really recommend any games, but you can look around and see what pings you. Best way to do it really.

[Hikari had been so busy with others thing and had others hobbies, she wondered if she could at least try and help.]

I can wonder with you if you'd like.

"What pings me? If you say so."

[She assumes "ping" means take interest.]

"And yes, I would like the company. Safety in numbers, after all."

[Even though it shouldn't be dangerous inside of a store. Anastasia recalls her Sylveon and steps inside of the game store. As she the shelves lined with different items, she was almost intimidated by how much there were.

She decides to head down a random aisle, slowly scanning the games on the shelf.]

[Hikari quietly followed behind her, looking around at the various games. There were such a variety, some she would have never really imagined. Looking over the shelves a little more, she looked over.]

Find anything?

[innocent_royal]

[Anastasia picked up a random game case, about the size of her hand and shows it to her companion.]

"Are games in this world really supposed to be this small?"

[She was talking about board games that she was used to compared to the video game she was holding.]

[Yugi had been trying to focus on work and figuring out how to push one feelings deep down. But for the meantime he was focused on going outside and placing a sign. He paused for a moment before looking over, only to spot someone standing there.]

Uh... can I help you?

[innocent_royal]

[The tone of voice made Anastasia feel foolish, so she was shying away at first.]

"Um... I'm looking for game stores, toy stores, and candy stores... I wanted to see what they carry."

[sizedoesntmatter]

Well I'm working at a game shop and toy stores and candy stores are around somewhere, which I can quickly show you.

[Since he was the only one walking right now.]

"You can show me? Please do."

[Something he said caught her attention.]

"Did you say you work at a game store? Can you tell me about some games while you show me to a store?"

I can.

[Considering the stores work closely together so that they bring in business. Which considering they would be rivals, was pretty nice.]

And I do work in a game shop, as for the types if it's a game the odds are likely I have it. Though I guess most of my stock is old style or old school as people call it.

[Anastasia side steps to Yugi's side so he can lead the way to a game store. From the way he explains things, she is expecting they'll be going to his game store.]

"Old style? What makes it 'old style?' Are there other styles?"

[sizedoesntmatter]

It basically means games that are old. I guess games like chess would be considered old. I could make a whole list, but it would take a long time to say all the types.

[And he was pretty sure that they didn't have all the time in the world. They had things to do after all.]

If you want something like a video game, then other stores sell that.

"I understand. And what is a video game?"

[She understands 'game' well enough, but it was the word 'video' that got her.]
