Well, looks like most things haven't changed here. How very [pause, wait for it~] Disappointing.

[Ah, so not a new arrival then and despite the fire back there, she's calm. What did Weiss do to her? Nothing, but maybe destroying that thing is still much more personal when you come from the same world.]

And she's still saying "this place is fairly safe" even though anyone can wake up here whenever. So consider that when I ask you; do you believe her?

[Fairly safe sounds so boring after ~~almost~~ everything back home. Not that Cinder is really complaining about being here, this time the timing was great and there's always the option of making this place less safe. Be prepared?]

Maybe it's just been calm and quiet lately... [She should change that. Somehow.] How long have you been here?

Only a few days. But I've lived in a dangerous place before. Though, I guess it's more accurate to say a dangerous world. There's an atmosphere that settles over that kind of environment and a way people carry themselves that is not present here. People here are too carefree.

People are too carefree everywhere until someone or something shows them what the real world is like. Do you want to tell more about your home world? [And if you don't want to, tell anyway because now she's curious!]

[Annie looks unsure now. How much should she tell? Especially when she was the supposed enemy of that said world. Though Mikasa,Petra, or any of the others here could drop her identity as a shifter at any time. Hiding has just become such a habit - but really, even if they did come after her with pitchforks and torches,which would be tiresome, she doubts they would succeed in doing anything aside from annoying her.

Besides, Annie knows you have to trade information to get information. And she's not quite steady on her feet here yet.]

People don't walk around outside. They live behind walled cities. You'll get eaten if you go outside and are not some kind of trained soldier or skilled fighter - and even then, your survival is never assured. It's strange for me to be in so relaxed a place, but I guess it's not strange to people used to living without that constant threat.

It's not like I'm from a very peaceful place either even if it might not be as bad as that, unless things get worse there. So, what is out there eating those, who go outside the walls?

Really? What kind of world was it? [Even Annie can't feign disinterest at the prospect of whole other realities existing.]

They are called Titans. They are humanoid and their height can vary anywhere from 3 to 15 meters. They all devour humans indiscriminately though there are abnormals that are exceptions.

It's a world called Remnant. People train to be Huntsmen and Huntresses, it's what we call the warrios who try to defend the world from anything evil such as creatures called Grimm.

[Or from murderers like Cinder, but hey, that's not important here, right? Also she probably shouldn't look so interested in these things called Titans. Maybe Annie just found someone, who doesn't find them fucking terrifying... Congrats?]

And how do those soldiers fight against Titans?

Warriors? [She hasn't heard people mention warriors since leaving her village.]

The military built a special gear that allows soldiers to fight three dimensionally. And the blades that they arm themselves with are also part of this gear.
