Because of the recent influx of residents from the world known as Remnant, recent posts regarding the state of affairs in Remnant, and the location of the Sub-Archway to Vale being within Fayren's borders, Guardian Satori and I have a request. Two of the people named in the post in question - an Ozpin and Ironwood - are of interest to us.

We request that you contact us to schedule a conference. We would like to speak with you both, in person, regarding the accusations leveled at you both.

With all due respect, General Ironwood and I will not speak to anyone about this situation until we have the opportunity to speak with our students, as they are the ones most directly impacted by what occurred in Remnant.

[ additionally, ozpin needs to figure out exactly how much to say, and exactly how much they all need to know ]

Then I suggest you do so in a timely manner. Guardian Satori and I are charged with the safety of Fayren. Given the claims made about the events in your world, Guardian Satori and I would hear both sides of the story, however, should you refuse this meeting, we will have little other recourse but to start restricting access to the gate to Vale which is located within our jurisdiction.

You are going to do what you must in order to protect the people you serve, and I am going to do the same.

[ it's said calmly enough ]

I will meet with you after I collect my students, but I would like to know what I am going to be asked, and what you expect of me. If that isn't too much trouble.

[ he doesn't sound defensive or confrontational, but he carries himself like a purposeful leader. strategic. he's not going to say more than he has to in order to protect his kids, and that's it. ]

Primarily, we will be addressing the accusations levied by Emerald Sustrai. Also, it would likely be beneficial to your cause if you brought any subordinates that have interacted with Emerald and this 'Cinder' that she named.

[ his brow furrows slightly ]

I don't consider my comrades subordinates.

[ glynda and james and qrow are his friends, though they all refer to him as boss or sir, he's done his best to combat that ]

I am capable of telling my story without their support, but as I doubt I can convince them to stay behind, they will be with me.

...Whatever you consider them, I would advise they be present. The more perspectives on the matter, the more of an informed decision Guardian Satori and I can make.

Which brings me to why we wish to do this in person. Satori and I are psychics. We will be able to tell if you are lying, omitting information, or misguided in your memories. We will not invade your minds, of course. Think of our powers as an organic form of lie detection and motive sensing.

Should you truly be in the right, you will have nothing to fear from us.

You are asking me to take your word that you will not harm myself or my colleagues, and you will not invade our innermost thoughts, with no proof that you will do so -- while asking us to bare secrets that many have died to protect.

I will need to verify your own claims, sir, before I put my colleagues at risk. Once I've determined that it is safe to meet both of you in person, without such risks, and I speak to my students, then I will arrange a meeting. If I am not able to verify your claims of not invading our minds, then I'm afraid we cannot meet in person. I consent to telling my story, not to tearing open my past.

[ and ozpin tilts his head, seeking some form of understanding ]

I'm certain you understand why I find the thought moderately repulsive.

[Mewtwo nods slightly, deciding to choose his words carefully for now.]

Guardian Satori cannot read more than surface thoughts without rituals to increase her power. However, those thoughts are as audible to her as anything said verbally. This is not something that she can simply turn off, either, and has come with a great deal of discomfort on her end.

As for myself... I admit, when it comes to manipulating the mind, my power far surpasses hers. If I desired, I could make you think I was at your third birthday with relative ease. That said, my own power has been furtively sought after in my own world. Simply knowing of my existence has led hundreds to hunt me down, seeking to bend me to their will. I have used my power to see into minds and manipulate them exactly twice in my life. Both when those that would use me as a weapon got too close, and only to erase their memory of my power.

However, if you require further proof that we do not pose a threat to you, I would suggest speaking with the other Guardians, and former Guardians. Guardian David Haller, from what I understand, is a powerful psychic as well, with the ability to erect mental shields in a person's mind to prevent unwanted information to be seen.

[ there's a silence, there. he doesn't know or trust the other guardians, and while he's been told good things about david haller, ozpin doesn't know him. he still has to meet with him, to discuss this mess, but... ]

I am sorry, then, that your power has been so sought after. That is a heavy burden to bear, and I sympathize.

[ ozpin's own semblance is so powerful that he almost never uses it -- and between that and the maidens, he's grown to be quite the figure indeed. ]

But I cannot, in good conscience, put General Ironwood, or my fellow colleagues, in the same room as either of you until I vet you both properly. I apologize for any inconvenience, but I must do what I can in order to protect my own.

[ so. it comes to weiss. ]

One of my students, Weiss Schnee, is a Guardian within this world. I will ask her, once I speak with her concerning Emerald's allegations. Should you speak with General Ironwood, I am sure he will say the same.

[Well, this is going poorly. Perhaps Koishi could help.]

Should it put you more at ease, I can request that Satori's sister - Koishi - be present as well. Koishi is a satori youkai like her sister, however due to circumstances in their world, chose to sever her connection to her telepathy. In addition to removing her own ability to read minds, but she also projects an aura that disrupts psychic transmission in the immediate vicinity.

However, Koishi can read a person's subconscious, sensing motives and truth without knowing the contents of the mind, while keeping other psychics from doing the same. I simply warn you that Koishi's behavior is... immature at times.

I would also like to stress that the situation concerning this Ironwood is of unique importance to myself. The way it was described in Emerald's post reminded me of situations I have had experience with in my world, and has put me - understandably I would think - on edge.

Regardless, I am still going to ask my own sources, though that would be a comfort.

[ ozpin pauses ]

James Ironwood is one of my closest friends. I would trust him with my life, and I know he would do the same for me in return. He sometimes has a heavy hand, and reacts impulsively, but every single action he takes is for the betterment of both his students and his people. I have never heard these accusations before, nor was I aware of them before this moment.

[ which only makes ozpin believe that they're probably true. there's absolutely no way ironwood would tell ozpin about something like this, because he knows ozpin would shut it down. ]

I, too, am concerned about these allegations, and I will be inquiring myself. But the facts remain the same -- I will need to do my own research before subjecting my friends to this questioning. If everything works out, then I am certain there will be no problem. We have nothing to lie about, and every action that we have taken has been for the good of Remnant, and to prevent people like Emerald and Cinder from destroying it.

Very well. Just be aware that in the absence of information, Satori and I will do what we deem is necessary for the safety of those within Fayren.

And in the absence of information, General Ironwood and I will do what we deem is necessary for the safety of our students, and ourselves.
