[Airy doesn't know if she ever wants to use the video function because she makes weird faces when she talks. Which means she's going to use the phone as a phone.]

Hello... Genessia. My name is Airy Miller.[What's the polite way to address everyone, anyway?] I'm not sure if this is a common question or not but I need to find a job and I was looking for some help. I'm not particularly good at anything. My only real talent is that I can watch someone perform a task and then do that task at an average skill level the first time I try it.

[She knows that's phrased weird but she has no other idea how to explain it.]

Anyway, I'm tired of being a freeloader so any help... would be really great.

[She sounds discouraged.]

[Airy can be found anywhere in Genessia. She has a piece of paper in her hands which she's currently holding on top of her head like it's about to start raining. There is a slightly hopeless expression on her features as she repeats the different jobs listings in her head.

She got the information from the newbie center or whatever it's called but she doesn't feel like she really fits most of these jobs. She doesn't remember being this indecisive all the time.

A soft groan falls from her lips.] Why is this so hard?

[She isn't talking to anyone in particular and she isn't really looking where she's going either.]

If I can say it's fine if you don't know what you want to do. For me I'm not really skilled at anything, but I found a job I loved eventually. It's just a case of figuring out hat you love and going from there.

[She ended up owning the place she worked at eventually.]

[All Airy can think is that this girl sounds really young and she wonders how young she sounds on the phone.]

What job did you find?

I work at a pet shelter.

[Simple as that.]

I make sure to try and find animals good homes.

It sounds like it suits you... I don't think animals like me.

[The last part is mostly spoken as an afterthought.]

I've found a lot that I'm not interested in. [Or that she doesn't think she can do.]

I don't think it's helping that much... it is narrowing down the list from what I can and can't do.

It's what it should have done, but I guess it doesn't work for everyone. For me it was easy because I went with what I liked and figured it out along the way.

It's how I ended up working in a sweet shop.

[Food is something that Airy is very interested in.]

The Schnee Company has both cleaning and receptionist positions available, if that's something you'd be interested in.

[Video, okay. She can do this, it's like Skype. Though Skype makes her nervous too.]

I won't lie... I'm really bad at cleaning. [Her mother is always saying so.]

This also might be an odd question but what does a receptionist do... exactly?

A receptionist does a variety of general office support. It's a fairly simple job, once you get used to it. You would take and direct calls, greet visitors, and handle mail - that sort of thing.

That... actually sounds like fun.

[She smiles.]

I like talking to people and I at least know how mail works. [She's sent letters to family members before and Santa Claws; it's mostly the same.]

I thought about working with food though I don't want to smell like grease everyday.

Requesting permission to injure sort of!

What moderate, pleasant snow, Ted thought, as he walked through the last gasps of winter dreamily. He's paced these roads so many times that he can literally waltz through with his eyes closed. This had the unfortunate effect of a head-on collision with Airy. "Oof!" Down went his bag, which he scrambled to recapture.

"Ah! Sorry, wasn't expecting you. Are you hurt?" He offered a hand up if she fell.

Sure.

Airy stumbled backwards and for a moment it appeared as if she might regain her balance however gravity won in the end and she fell back on the sidewalk with a loud thud.

"...oww..." She pushed on the pavement with one hand so she was at least sitting up before assessing any damage. The paper had slipped from her grip and was resting a few feet away. Her palm gingerly rose to her head as she blinked at the man in front of her. It took her a few moments to realize that he had asked her a question.

"Yeah... just surprised."

That's one way to meet someone.

"Hah, wouldn't be the first time a surprise hurt. Veterinarians know that kind of suddenness all too well." He'd hoist her up given the barest hint otherwise.

"Good afternoon. I'm Ted. You must be Ms. Miller, the penitent indolent! It's a very strange talent you possess; I've thought about it all morning. Instant mediocrity. Have you ever thought about a teaching job?"

"Penitent indolent?"

He was talking a lot faster than she was used to and using some words that he didn't recognize. That's the public school system for you... After a moment she disregards her question letting Ted decide if he wants to come back to it and answers his question.

"Teaching? But I can't teach..." She can just do stuff and her skill level never really deviates from average.

[Nathan doesn't sound too pleased when he calls her back.]

You're know you're not a freeloader, right?

[Okay, well, maybe you are a little bit, but he really doesn't mind.]

[She's glad that this isn't video now because hearing his voice almost makes her jump. Also why doesn't he just talk to her when she gets home?]

Ah... yeah... technically.

[Airy sighs softly.]

I just want to help.

[Because he's at work?]

You don't have to do that, Airy. Really. [A pause.] I mean, I'm not going to stop you if you want to.

[Cas shares this need for a job, actually.]

So, you can just make things appear and do anything you try to do the first time? That's...so not fair.

[Airy almost laughs when she hears Cas on the other side of the phone.]

It really isn't that impressive.

[Except she's grinning because there were a few times when she impressed people; mostly with picking up a lacrosse stix.]

I think it just sounds cooler than it is.

Yeah, you're the first person I've ever met who even says they can do something after watching someone do it once.

[A beat.]

Maybe you think the who "modesty" bit is cute, but you don't get to say something like that, then try to play it off like it's no big deal, and not sound annoying.

Not for nothing, lady, but being able to do something on your first try just by watching? That's a heck of a skill to have. I don't think you'll have trouble finding a job you can pull off.

[Lady...? That's a first for her but then people around here come from all over don't they?]

Ah yeah, it isn't too hard. Obviously I can't fly or anything like that. [She has to physically be able to do it.] But I'm really good at mimicking others.

It's surprisingly unuseful when looking for a job.

Really? I thought being a quick learner was the kind of thing an employer would be looking for.

What kind of job are you looking for? I'm kind of on the hunt for one too, myself.
