Professor Ozpin/ Glynda? I'd like to speak with you, if you have a moment. One James Ironwood named you as a reference, and I'm interviewing Lie Ren and Jaune Arc, who I believe were also your students, for positions as well.

Backdated: Private Text Message to Weiss

I'm sorry to inconvenience you like that. I'll be back at work tomorrow.

Log: At the Hospital

[Armin has yet to wake up, but he seems whole and unharmed, sleeping - though not well, tossing and turning fitfully.]

Log: Back at the Mansion

[Once he wakes up, Armin checks himself out of the hospital and comes home quietly, without fanfare. He needs time to process what happened, and what it means - Reiner just murdered him. He must be a traitor, and one of the titan shifters. Nobody had mentioned... but then, he hadn't asked. Still, the betrayal cuts him to the core - and the way he found out about it obviously doesn't help. The fact that Armin's died before - more than once - doesn't make this any easier. Almost the reverse - he feels strange, uncomfortable in his own skin, and wonders if he's even human anymore.

Arriving back at the mansion, he takes a deep breath before opening the door and going inside, bracing himself to face everybody.]

Private Message to Blake

Hey. If, um. If you want to come and see the library, I'm free this evening. And I can pick up an extra key so you can come and work on it on your own schedule.

You're taking at minimum a week off, Armin. I can handle things until then unless there's an emergency.

...Do I have to? [He won't argue if she says yes. But this is a fairly vital week in establishing the Fayren Branch, with all the new employees - and he doesn't want to be alone with his thoughts right now.]

[ She sighs. She hasn't been killed before, but she knows why he wants to work. ] You can work today, but you have to take at least a week off before the end of the month.

[He lets out a somewhat relieved breath. As long as it's not right away, and all at once... He can deal with a little time off.]

[ She pauses. She won't ask if he's okay- she knwos he's not. there's no way he could be. ]

I mean it, Armin. If I find out you didn't take it I'll put you on temporary leave for a month.

[Looking at his phone, he smiles somewhat ruefully.]

I understand. Just... as long as it's not right away, or all at once, I can manage.

[ When Armin returns home to the mansion, he can find that Sertoria's just taking care of a few things before the day ends. When the door opens, she turns her head and walks out of the kitchen. A warm smile is what greets him first, as if nothing's changed. ]

Welcome home, Armin.

[Something has changed. But if she's not going to bring it up, he's certainly not going complain, or bring it up himself.

Even so, he can't quite manage to smile back.] Th-thanks.

[ That's okay, Armin. She understands completely. Her smile lessens significantly before she closes the distance in between them. Her hand rests on his shoulder before she pulls him into a warm hug.

It's perfectly okay, however, if he doesn't want this, though. ]

We will not let that happen again, all right?

[Historia is new and still getting used to everything. Walking down the stairs is nothing new but thinking what she wants to eat from all the options there are if she goes to the kitchen is... weird for anyone from titan world. Everyone can also hope, that she won't blow up or burn anything there...

She stops a few steps away from the floor when the door suddenly opens and she sees Armin. Now it's not polite to just stare like she does for a moment or two even if this meeting is totally unexpected in a way right now.]

Welcome back.

[Well that's lame compared to how Krista would greet him or anyone, who lives here with more words and huge smile. She's still happy to see him!]

[Though Armin had been bracing himself to face everybody, Historia is not on the list of people he'd been preparing for, so for a long moment he stands inside the door, mirroring her and just staring.]

Christa?? When did you... [Arrive? Well. While he was dead or in the hospital. Obviously.] Umm. W-welcome to Genessia.

[He steps forward after a moment, hesitates, and then pulls her into a hug, blinking back tears. If it's a bit tighter than it might have usually been - well, he's had a bad couple of days, and he hadn't been prepared for this.]

[She's walking a bit closer after her words. What now? He speaks and she's not surprised at all to hear that name. They both know the answer to that question, she's obviously still new and him being older is still surprising now when she sees him. It's different to hear about it than see it with her own eyes.]

[She feels bad for not visiting him at the hospital. And now she's hesitating what to do next but she's tempted to hug him. It's. ... New. She's not used to the idea of hugs being okay but Eren hugged her back home and Armin's a friend too...

Getting a hug from him surprises her a little but then she relaxes and returns it. She doesn't mind his tight hold of her at all even if she's still shy and hesitant of these, so hers isn't as tight at first. Tears wouldn't surprise her considering everything he's going through right now...]

Hey, Armin. It's okay [to cry or anything], you're safe now.

[Jaune wanders in to the hospital and pauses when he sees Armin has yet to awaken. He considers waking him up...but even though it's hard, it's something Armin has to come out of himself. He pulls up a chair and awkwardly sits, no where too close so he won't be hovering over Armin when he wakes up.]

[Chopper didn't notice the visitor at first, though Jaune wasn't exactly hiding. The tiny doctor, complete with a tiny lab coat, slipped into the room to start his usual checks. Pulse, temperature, blood pressure... Little hooves make a very specific and perhaps almost cute sound on the tile floor and then after hopping onto a stool, a furry head peeked over the top of the bed and spotted Jaune.

Oh...]

Shhhhh!

[Yeah, cause that wasn't at all suspicious as Chopper was making more noise than Jaune. And then he'll press a hand-hoof against Armin's upper arm and start watching the clock on the wall.]

[Jaune tenses at the noise and quickly turns to find the source of the hoovesteps and just...gawks like an idiot. Hello tiny doctor.]

Pokemon--?

[He flinches and literally jumps back in his chair. Was he the pokemon Weiss told him about? He doesn't seem like a jerk though. Jaune is just incredibly confused, other than anything else.]

[Pokemon? Chopper tilted his head slightly until the twenty seconds were up, then shook his head.]

Nope... I'm Chopper, doctor for the Strawhat pirates! I was just a reindeer but I ate a human-human fruit on my world that made me human as well.

[He was using softer tones to make sure he wouldn't jolt Armin awake just in case. After a moment he sighed.]

I really wish there was a shorter explanation... Maybe, I'm a reindeer doctor with seven transformations? And I have a blue nose.

[Because that was totally not obvious. Next check though, his hand-hoof will rest lightly on Armin's chest to check his breathing.]

[So the reindeer ate some kind of...magic? fruit, which enabled him to talk and made him human. Jaune's never heard of anything like that before, but one thing stands out the most.]

[Oops, he should probably lower his voice.]

You're a doctor pirate?

[Again with the SHHHHH bro! He'll even hop down and dart under the bed to poke Jaune's leg.]

He's just asleep now and he isn't like Luffy or Zoro! But yeah, I'm a pirate and a doctor. I even have a bounty at home!

[Yeah, he's totally proud of that! And maybe it'll go over three digits soon! He's keeping the hush going though, cause... sleeping patient.]

But nobody else is here and Sunny isn't either so I got a job.

[Blake waited until later in the evening before she finally, hesitantly peeked around the door to Armin's room. She made her way over to him quietly before breathing in a sigh of relief. She still couldn't comprehend how, but the man she had spoken to had been right. He was alive. Seeing it for herself made her feel better, even if it was kind of surreal.

Careful to not make noise in case he'd wake, she pulled a chair over to where he was and sat. She thought back to the message she'd received from him. Worrying about a library at a time like this...she almost smiled at the thought. Then she frowned as he began to become more fitful in his sleep.

Yang must have been brought to a hospital like this. Saying she was in pretty bad shape was putting it mildly. Had her teammate tossed and turned like this? Had she suffered a lot? She felt a wave of remorse. And self loathing. She hadn't been there. And she should have been. It didn't change that she couldn't remain a part of her friend's life, but maybe she should have at least waited a day. But she was afraid that she would talk herself out of it if she did. Still, she had may well have let her friend lie in a room like this alone. Waking up, seeing the better part of her arm missing and thinking that Blake didn't even care.

Something dripped into her lap. She didn't know when she had started crying. She felt guilty because it was Armin lying there and she kept seeing Yang. She laid her hand on his and tried to get control of herself. She didn't want the first thing he saw when he woke up to be her tears. She wiped at her face with her free hand.]

[As dangerous as it is, Reiner visited the hospital Armin was in. It was a moment of his soldier and warrior sides were mixed in together for a moment.

He left flowers on the table next to Armin; orange lily's and black roses. In flower words they mean hatred and death.

There is also a note next to the flowers that say:

"I no longer exist. Farewell.

I have no regrets."]

General James Ironwood is one of my closest friends, and I would trust him with both my students and my life.

As for Lie Ren and Jaune Arc, they are both superior young men who will work extraordinarily hard, and are also members of one of the most successful teams at Beacon Academy. I vouch for them completely.
