genessia | 5th Book

[Belle had started to adjust her phone a little bit as she turned it around to show what appeared to be the inside of the pawn shop. Once Belle felt comfortable about the device she turned it back around, giving a soft smile on her lips.]

I'm sure people who go to the library often have been wondering why I haven't been there as much. The reason is pretty simple. It's all because of this place. Well apart of it, I guess. [She kind of hoped this subarchway could be proven useful later on should anything happen.]

The place I am currently at is called Mr. Gold Pawnbroker & Antiquities Dealer. It's where I will be working some of the time as well as the library here as well. [She went and stood by the door to point the phone out at the town before her.]

I guess I should explain. This place is called Storybrooke. It's where I was before I found myself in Genessia. Sure, it's not the same, but it still nice to have.

[She paused once more.]

Though because of it I've lowered the hours I will work at the library in Genessia. However, it means I can work with new books and maybe sort it so we can have copies for both libraries. [However as for the Pawn shop, she just knew how it worked and so figured she might just keep it up since she would of had to anyway after pushing him out of the town.]

Apart from that... I don't think there is much else to say I've not discovered anything that is different or anything about the group in Fayren, but I'm still keeping an eye out just in case.

[Toby shrugs.]

I'm intimidating when I want to be.

[She frowns slightly. Sure one cannot see it but still.]

So you do that kind of thing on purpose?

Sometimes. [He replies softly.] It's easier to find things out first hand.

[Not that he disputes or ignores hearsay.]

It's also not very nice for innocent people to be treated like that, just for information.

[Toby raises an eyebrow though she can't see it.]

How are they treated?

[His time wandering around at night wasn't as eventful. He met some people who were frantically heading home but otherwise the town seemed quiet. He hasn't gone into the forest yet but that's his next target.]

[She paused for a moment.]

It depends, I mean some can get caught up in situations for one thing.

[She always found herself like that really.]

[Toby grunts softly, the tone low and disgruntled.]

I don't know much about Everglade but there are rarely others out at night.

[He has yet to see an attack on a house which perhaps has him more curious than he ought to be. Someone set the rules there and he wasn't so sure it was just those who appeared to be in control. There were too many things unaccounted for.]

That is mostly because of the laws if affect, but people have been out at night and have been attacked.

[She had been curious enough to see what might happen, but right now it didn't seem like a good idea.]

I kind of want to go there sometime, myself just to see what might happen. But I know it's not the best idea.

Don't go alone.

[That's all he has to say on the matter.]

[Silence lingers on Toby's side of the phone.]

Not...

[He pauses as if unsure what to say.]

It's just common sense.

Of course it's common sense, which would mean I would be aware of it myself. You didn't need to say.

[Might as well point out the fact at least.]

Besides, I've been training to defend myself better, so I can at least do that should I need to.

[Toby can't help but smirk and he's a little happy she can't see it.]

That's good. Caution is also good.

[His voice is even, not betraying his expression.]

I'm beginning to learn that you have common sense.

[He's used to his brothers and sisters who don't always have common sense.]

I'm sure you'll learn more about me.

[In which case she was sure they would talk more at least. She would hope that at least.]

Just like I see that you probably do care more than what you seem to let on.

I wouldn't call it caring.

[He has no idea what he'd call it though.]

Then what is it exactly? I'm curious?

Advice.

[He states the word simply though he doesn't really believe it himself.]

So you would give advice to just anyone?

[Toby suddenly finds himself in a position where he dislikes phones. He can't do his usual no committal shrug in response to her question. Instead there is a long stretch of silence before he finally replies.]

We'll see.

We'll see indeed. For now I should get back to work.
