Video!

Hi again! It’s been awhile but now that I’m less busy I thought it would be fun to start up a Book Club! Belle and I are currently organizing it and right now we’re going to meet in the Library though that might change since they don’t always allow food in all of the meeting rooms there.

[They can at least get coffee.]

The Club will meet once a month, since people are most likely too busy to meet more often than that. We’ll talk about books we like and don’t like, plot points and other general discussions. I don’t know if we’ll have books we read together but that’s also something we hope to explore. We want to learn about everyone’s favorite book or genre and be able to share with each other.

[Her smile brightens.]

The first meeting is going to be March 24th, Thursday at 6 pm. Meeting room 195A in the Genessia Library. It’s going to be something like a meet and greet for those interested and we can talk about what everyone wants to get out of the club.

Just come with a love of books.

If you have any questions or comments about it please let me know here. Or if you have experienced this sort of thing and remember one thing working very well, while another topic or idea didn’t let me know. I want it to be fun for everyone.

[Levy flashes another warm smile and then the feed ends.]

[For anyone looking for the elusive blue haired girl she can be found at her book shop in Fayren, Scribes & Scripts, during the day. As night falls she heads to the Fairy Tail guild hall to lend a hand or towards her home in Genessia. She’s still thinking about having a ‘Horrible Horror Movie Night’ and inviting Liv and a few others over but her thoughts are currently buzzing about the book club so for now that’s on hold.

There is a new notice on her shop window advertising in large red letters. BOOK HUNTERS NEEDED! Anyone who sees the sign is welcome to come in and apply for the job though Levy has limited openings. Requests for specific books have risen and she is trying her best to keep up with it but the current lead time is at least a week and she feels awful giving Blake more than she can handle. Sometimes they can’t even find a book which is a little disheartening but Levy isn’t the sort to give up easily.]

What is it?

I don't know the title, only the characters. 'Cain and Abel.' I've heard the two used in metaphors, and I'm curious as to what the actual story is about.

You mean the Bible?

[She worked with Ted for six months.]

I can get that story.

The... Bible? { Well, this is awkward. He... doesn't exactly have a good history with religion. And not just because there are more than a few Dark Guilds that literally worship him. } I wasn't aware the story was found in religious texts.

Well there are many religious text, all of which are stories. [She mostly thinks they are made up to describe things people don't understand.]

I don't pull much faith from them, since they are written by people and people get things wrong a lot but they are interesting. Cain and Abel is a story of brothers and betrayal.

I see. Can you tell me how it goes?

"Cain is described as a crop farmer and his younger brother Abel as a shepherd. Cain was the first human born and Abel was the first human to die. Cain committed the first murder by killing Abel."

[It sounds like it's resited from a book when she says it.]

There are more than one version of the story. It's in the Christian Bible, Jewish Torah and Muslim Quran.

Except it's more or less a story of jealousy and anger.

I was curious if there was more to the store than one brother killing the other. That is all.

There is, it's about a lot of things really. I suggest reading it if you want the full story. It won't be the same coming from me.

[Belle sits behind a counter, for once it was not the library. It was something else completely.]

And if not at that library then we can always move it to the one in Storybrooke.

[Levy’s lips curl into a warm smile upon seeing Belle.]

That’s a good idea. It’ll probably be quitter too. I’ll make sure to bring it up at the meeting; since I already set the first one.

Of course. I and when it does happen, I'll always be the one to set up in that library afterwards.

Sounds like a plan. I haven't gotten to many interested parties yet but I'm going to wait and see.

[It saddens Levy that more people don't like books.]

Well I can always go advertise myself if we need to.

[She figured it was for other reasons like maybe not paying attention or something.]

That might be a good idea. I'm going to bring it up with those who work here too because I know they all love books.

[They'll probably all come and have a great time.]

[Levy has three employees and she's sure they'd all enjoy themselves.]

Will flowery romance novels be included?

It doesn't have to be but it can.

[She laughs softly.]

I'm hoping for all books though we will most likely focus on some and avoid others.

A book club, hm? I may have to join you.

[Levy smiles brightly.]

What sort of books are you interested in?

[Blake poked her head around the door, backpack in tow. So great was her own love of books she really didn't mind the extra work. More books meant more to read and that was always a good thing. She plopped a hardcover title 'The Search for WondLa' by Tony DiTerlizzi down on the counter.]

Found this one in Nova City. [The girl looked pleased with herself.]

[Levy looks over at Blake with a warm smile.]

That's great! I already have another list for you. The ones with stars are for people and the others are just books I thought we should stock in the store.

[She reaches behind the counter to pull out a piece of paper with a list of five books on it; two of which are stared.]

Are we allowed to bring comics to the book club? [He laughs. His encounter with Tsuyu had reminded him of his love for superheroes, so he was a little disappointed Scribes & Scripts didn't carry comic books.] But that sounds fun! I'd love to join in, if that's okay.

Yes.

[She smiles.]

Any books are fine. I know I have some manga that I collected for a friend of mine. [Who is now gone.] Even with pictures it's still a book.

[Levy will find anything that he might want. She has a love for all books.]
