Well, I've thought about this. And I just can't think of a non-awkward and/or disturbing way to say it.

Are you sure you're alive? I mean, have you ever changed back to being a ghost here?

[Danny shrugs restlessly. ]

Just... something about the way you were talking reminded me of something. I had to ask.

[He'd had to wonder if this meant there was another halfa here. ]

[Ronan watches him for a moment, crossing his arms.]

[He opens and closes his mouth a few times as he tries to figure out how to say it. He'd never just come out and told anyone what he was, and he wasn't entirely sure how to start.

Normally he wouldn't even consider this. But the truth was.... it was humans that Danny had to keep his secrets from. All the ghosts back home knew.

[Ronan's brow dropped in confusion. In all honesty, he's heard stranger things, but still...]

Honestly? [He shrugs.] I don't really know. There was an accident, and I think I kind of got stuck somewhere in between? I'm a living human, and I'm a ghost.

...holy shit... [He's not going to put it past the cosmos to do something like that but...he's just a kid...] ...and you're...like that here, too?

Well, yeah. I've been like this since I was 14. Coming here didn't change anything.

Which was why I wanted to ask when you said that it did for you. I mean, I don't usually tell people what I am. [He shrugs.] My parents are ghosthunters, so... You know, not really a good thing to spread around back home.

Ghosthunters. [That's a thing. That's an actual thing where this kid come from.] So, ghosts are bad where you're from?

[Danny rolls his eyes. ]

Not all ghosts are bad. Some of them just want to be left alone, and some of them are good friends. But the ones most people see are the ones who attack the human world. Probably doesn't help that all the ghost experts are running around telling everyone that all ghosts are evil manifestations of ectoplasmic energy and post-human consciousness out to to make humans lives miserable because its what we do, apparently.

I'm pretty sure none of those experts have ever even talked to a ghost.

Speaking from experience, some of the are just bored, and some of them were pretty messed up people before they knocked off.

[He shakes his head.]

I know ghosts are just people, kid. I was one too, remember?

Um, sorry? I guess explaining is kind of a habit. Not that anyone has ever listened, but, you know. I keep hoping.

[He smirks and flickers out of sight. A few seconds later he reappears. ]

Not bad, kid. [Sometimes, he misses being dead.]

Yeah, usually. Intangibility is a separate power for me.

Uh, I do? I thought all of them could do that too. I mean, they don't usually bother, because its mostly useful for being sneaky and subtle and... yeah. Not subtle isn't really their thing I've noticed.

I couldn't touch a damned thing while I was dead, kid. Though...I could possess people, influence their thoughts, take control of cats. That was useful.
