06 - Audio // Forward dated to March 25
[At first Dairine tried not to think too much of Conan's lateness. The guy was often busy with errands and other distractions, so some irregularities in his schedule could be expected. Yeah, the recent disappearances kept popping to mind, but Conan was more competent than he looked. Surely he wouldn't go running off to investigate them without mentioning it, right?
...Oh who was she kidding. He absolutely would.
With an aggravated moan, Dairine snaps on the audio function for her communicator. Her voice is rather tight and angry sounding. It serves as a good mask for her nerves as she tries not to think about the wendigo incident.]
Has anyone seen Conan Edogawa wandering around? He's really tiny, looks about seven years old? Short black hair, blue eyes, huge glasses... and talks way too smart for someone so DUMB!!
[Whoops, there went her composure. Dairine takes a deep breath and clears her throat.]
Er, if so, let me know right away.
[Audio - Filtered to Kaitou Kid]
We need to meet. NOW.

[Action]
But there have been an increasing number of people going missing this week.
Re: [Action]
And knowing him, he probably caught sight of something suspicious and followed it.
[ Over dramatic sigh. ]
Common sense was never a critic's best trait.
[Action]
[Dairine gives an aggravated sigh as well.]
I've checked with the library staff, and he did show up there. So it was probably after that that he ran off for some investigating.
Re: [Action]
[ He taps a finger against his arm. ]
We could always canvass the area and see if anyone else remembers seeing a too-curious-for-his-own-good seven year old.
Re: [Action]
[Conan rarely shared all of his daily plans with her. Nor did she usually expect him to, considering she didn't tell him everything either.]
I suppose. I've got some folks already searching, but we could probably use more eyes.
[She rubs her face with one hand.]
If only there was something we could use to narrow the search down more.
[Action]
I could take my glider, that would give us eyes from the sky. He might have left behind some sort of clue.
[ KID is silent for a long moment, the finger still tapping against his arm, before he stops and thinks about what he just said. ]
Does he keep a spare set of glasses around?
[Action]
[Dairine can see the start of a new train of thought, though she can't quite tell where it's coming from. She gives the room a quick scan, glancing at the flat surfaces.]
Maybe? What good would that do?
[Action]
[ He gives the girl a smirk. ]
Meitantei is full of surprises, mostly courtesy of his professor friend. I don't doubt his glasses are very much the same way.
[Action]
[Kaito Kid does have a point though. Dairine has seen Conan's bow tie, shoes, and watch in action. Another gadget-filled accessory wouldn't be so surprising.]
[She moves over to Conan's dresser and opens the drawers, rummaging through them nonchalantly. This is hardly the first time she's gone hunting through his stuff before. Finally she pulls out another pair of glasses, identical to Conan's usual pair.]
Aha! Got 'em!
[Action]
[ He took the glasses from her, gently turning them around in his hands.
Okay, if I was a genius professor, where would I... Ah! There.
There's a press of a button and KID grins like a loon before sliding the glasses on (over the monocle even, go figure). His expression drops, suddenly, though when his eyes focus on what he's seeing. ]
Oh, Meitantei. At least you left us something to follow.
[Action]
[She hands him the glasses willingly, watching closely as he inspects them. Dairine rolls her eyes when he puts them on over the monocle, silently judging his fashion choices. But then his expression changes and she can't take being left out any longer.]
What. What is it? Let me see!
[Action]
See that dot? He was smart enough to leave us a starting point.
[Action]
Geez, is he a detective or a spy?
[Really, how many gadgets does he need? She lifts her hands to adjust the glasses a little.]
Looks like we won't be able to tell the exact location without some legwork.
[Action]
[ KID would never be one to judge him for it, even if he hates that belt and those shoes with a passion. ]
Unfortunately, not. But this saves us from wandering aimlessly until we find some sort of clue, hm?
[Action]
[How many other detectives have soccer balls or sleeping darts?]
Then I'll need to grab some things. Hang on...
[Dairine turns to one corner of the room and scoops up a laptop lying on the floor. (Was it there when Kaito came in? Possibly not. More importantly, did he notice?) Then she hurries out of the room into the main living quarters, grabbing her jacket off the coat rack. If he bothers to follow, he'll notice the space has books strewn around. There are mysteries of course, but also fiction and comic books. Otherwise the room looks like most apartments in the area.]
[Action]
[ As far as KID is concerned, it would be more surprising if Kudo didn't have things like this in his arsenal. He follows behind her curiously, eyes wandering the apartment as he does so. He wonders at the laptop, but is amused by the books strewn everywhere. The mystery novels are a no-brainer, there aren't many people KID knows who would religiously read those. ]
What sort of things are you looking for?
[Action]
[Dairine turns towards Kid as she pulls her second arm through the jacket's sleeves.]
Other than this? [Points to the computer.] Warmer layers. It might be spring, but it's not t-shirt weather yet. Ah... Now that I think of it...
[She grabs four red and white balls that were placed on a nearby table. One gets placed in her pocket immediately as she calls out.]
Kit Kat! Mela! Tron!
[Suddenly two cat-like creatures come bursting out the other bedroom. If Kid knows his Pokemon, he would recognize them as Flareon and Sylveon. They are followed by an Aron going at a slightly slower but steady pace. Dairine kneels down to get more on their level, scratching the Sylveon behind the ear for a moment.]
Guys, a situation has come up, and I might need your help. But I need to move fast. Mind going into your Pokeballs for the trip?
[There is a clamor of noise as they all agree. With a flash of light, they enter their respective Pokeballs, which Dairine puts away with the other.]
[Action]
[ KID knows too well about this sort of thing - he has Jii-chan after all.
KID doesn't really Pokemon too well. He's seen them around the city, of course, but he has none of his own. He doesn't question them, though, knowing she wouldn't bring them along if she didn't think they could help. ]
All right then, let's go.
