[Stone Ridge, Room 104. 7:30 AM. That's Marc sitting at his breakfast table, a bowl of cereal and a glass of orange juice close by. His copy of the Genessia Tribune lies open before him.]
This almost reads like something from home. I mean, 'Hands of Decay'? The hell's their problem with magic?
[He turns a page. There's the bounties section in all its glory. The look on his face suggests a hint of nostalgia for a life long past.]
...man. Me and my crew would've been all over this back in the day. Little too old for that now, though it does make me warm and fuzzy knowing others here can step up to the plate.
[Finally, he takes his first sip, lifting it in toast.]
So: happy hunting to all you sellswords, guns-for-hire, and Good Samaritans. I'll be watching with bated breath.
[A barely suppressed snicker cracks his neutral expression as he reaches over to end the feed.]
Condiment Empire. Jesus...
[David will see that Marc has highlighted the entry on Fear Factor.]
I'm going in. He's either hurting people by night or forcing them to travel by it when they come to. That makes it my business.
[For a moment, it looks like he's going to end the transmission right there. "Just a heads-up," as it were. But his finger falls away after a moment's consideration.]
Anything else I should know about Everglade?
(OOC: Feel free to notice that Marc's hands are faintly streaked with plaster dust. He's been working on something since he arrived, and it's just about done.)

I raise you 'Paste Pot Pete' and dare you to come up with something weirder.

Mr. Pigeon.

The Kangaroo. Asbestos Lady. Typeface.
Turner D. Century.

Kung Food.
Re: [ video ]
Let me guess: martial artists with a Chinese food motif? Tell me they don't have a 'Chop Suey' with them.

So if you are going at night, be careful of that.

I am... and I will. Sounds like I'll have to pull my punches in there, even if they strike first.
[An exercise in extreme discipline to be sure. But Marc really is trying to be a better hero, and he can start by not provoking some kind of war.[

Then my priority's to the natives, and to us.
[As in those Taken. Unless they're the troublemakers.]
Anything else means acceptable targets.
[He looks to the side for a second, mind on a couple recent conversations.]
One other thing. I... kinda adopted a stray recently. Goes by Cat Noir. Good kid, but still finding his way. Think you can go easy on him for a few weeks while I whip him into shape?
Private
Cat Noir? Sounds like he would be part of the French Avengers with a name like that. [David doesn't assume he's from their world, though.]
Both of you have my blessing to fight crime as needed. And he's fine so long as he isn't blowing stuff up. [But if Moon Knight was looking out for him, he doubted that would happen.]
I recreated the Danger Room here as a business. It's called Holodeck'd. You'll find one in Genessia City and Nova City. Should you ever want to run any training simulations with him or if you'd ever like to some solo, let me know and I'll let you in after hours. If he's still a newbie, he could probably benefit from that more than you.
Private
Live fire exercises without truly being live. I like it. It'd be a great supplement to his training.
[A blessing and even a helping hand from his 'neighbor'. This is way better than he'd hoped for. It's on.]
I owe you one, David. Thanks. If you ever you need someone to look into things the sheriff can't...

[Including herself but she doesn't know how great her contribution is.]
If you want to help out there are things you can do but I don't know about payment. I might be able to. [She'd ask first since Lucy might be upset with her paying someone to help out.]
Re: Video; Private
No need for that. The only money I'll ever take now is from my classes. This one's pro bono.
[He may be pretending to be a little less than who he really is, but there's nothing feigned about his righteous anger.]
What do I need to know, Levy? And what can I do to help?
Video; Private
Well, they are not above using wizards or their families. They'll hurt anyone who isn't on their side. They want to kill all wizards and destroy the magic in Fayren; except magic is part of Fayren.
...I think that's why parts of the forest are dying. They did something but no one will investigate using magic because... they're scared.
[She works there and feels nervous most days when she's at work. She doesn't know what will happen next and she's already been blown up once.]
Video; Private
[There's just no reasoning with fanatics. Or condoning those who hurt innocents no matter their cause.]
...and if someone without a lick of magic in his bones were to investigate for them?
Video; Private
[Levy shrugs.]
We don't actually know a lot about them or who they are. The only lead we had was recently caught.

[ Though that's more because her body doesn't exactly get tolls on it than her own age or job. ]
Hobby? [ She noticed his fingers. But to be fair, she also works with a detective a lot. Being observant is part of the gig. ]

[He follows her eyes... right down to his fingers. Oh crap. Did he seriously not wash his hands after another long night of making a shrine to his god? Think fast.]
...oh. Nah. Stone Ridge doesn't exactly have the best kept hallways in Genessia.

[ She doesn't remember it well, but it sounds about right. Though really she would've just assumed he was into pottery or sculpting or something artsy. ]
