You are invited to my Birthday Party!
I’m turning 16 and I want to celebrate with everyone.

[The Cat’s Eye has been closed for the party though all are welcome to come in. They don’t even need to know Sakura personally. Inside are pink and tan streamers draped along the walls with bright balloons tied to chairs and flowers placed as center pieces on tables. There are a few figures of the deputy guardian mixed in with the decorations thanks to Fai wanting to completely embarrass the birthday girl.

Despite turning 16 it looks more like a child’s party with the intent to have fun. There is pin the tail on the donkey set up, a piñata hanging in the corner that is in the shape of a flower, birthday cake and strawberry Jell-o.]

[ooc: feel free to make top posts and mingle. There are mostly sweets and snacks set out for people to eat and maybe a scavenger hunt later?? If I can think of something for that idea.]

[Sakura's lips curl into a bright smile.]

You're wishes are more than enough. Thank you.

[She doesn't want him to think he has to get her something.]

Have you seen the cakes! I made most of them this morning. You should try one and tell me what you think.

I have not yet, I wasn't sure if I should have.

[ Truthfully he hasn't attended a party like this... Either ever or in a very long time, he doesn't remember regardless so it's hard to know where to start or what he should be doing. ]

You're skilled with baking, then? It can't be easy to do.

[Sakura nods.]

It's something I love to do.

[She lightly takes Van's hand and pulls him towards the small row of cakes.]

The one at the end Fai made for my birthday but I made the others. Cakes are amazing, I know some people don't like sweets but even a small taste can make anyone smile.

I want to grant people smiles.

Is that so.

[ She really does have a kind heart. Van can't help a softer expression as he's pulled forward, and although he's separated from family and friends... It's nice to know he can make more of the latter here, at least in her. ]

I really should try one then, if nothing else here.

[Sakura's smile brightens.]

Yes! I made an almond cake, a cherry cake, strawberry and chocolate.

[There are more but those are the ones she thinks turned out the best. She really hopes that he likes them.]

[ He'll nod before silently taking a piece from one of the cakes - the cherry one - onto a plate and taking a taste.

He doesn't answer straight away, instead going back for another bite and quietly continuing. Maybe that's answer enough? ]

[It's enough for Sakura who's smiling brightly as he tastes the cake.]

If you have a favorite flavor I can make you one.

You really don't need to do that for me.

[ He looks a little uncomfortable, almost as if he isn't used to people being kind to him for no reason. The fact that he knows Sakura doesn't have an ulterior motive (so far as he can tell anyway) doesn't help things either. ]

[Sakura pauses, her expression thoughtful as she watches Van.]

I don't have to. I don't want to make you uncomfortable.

[She can tell that he might not appreciate blind kindness. She's known others who haven't but she can tell that Van is a good person.]

I just like baking and hearing people's favorite sweets helps me come up with more ideas for cakes. I didn't eat a lot of cakes at home. Only on my birthday.

... I'm glad you can do that more often here, from the sounds of it.

Well, I had other responsibilities at home.

[She smiles thinking back to the few memories she has of Clow Kingdom.]

It's a beautiful place. I think you'd have liked it.

[Though she doubts he'd have gotten along with her brother.]

[ Probably not. ]

Maybe I will, depending on how we can go and where we can go from this place.

[ He's relaxing a little more at least, even if it's a little hard for him to. ]

[She smiles brightly.]

Clow Country is a dessert. I can't go back there... not yet but I can't wait to see it again.

[After she has all her memories back.]

I wish you luck, and for me to return to my own country of Fanelia as soon as possible.

[ He nods, smiling to her with a warmth he hasn't shown before. ]

[Sakura's lips curl into a warm smile.]

What's Fanelia like?

[She'd love to see his country as well.]

It is mountainous, with vast forests and beautiful lakes. It isn't as advanced as other countries, but I feel like it doesn't need to be. It feels good the way it is.

That sounds perfect.

[She would love to see it.]

It is beautiful... I wouldn't call any other place home.

Even if time stands still there, I still can't help wishing to return as soon as I can. I'm still needed there.

We'll find a way back.

[She reaches for his hand with a smile.]

I don't know when but we'll keep trying.

To Clow as well as Fanelia.

[ He nods to her, feeling just a little more at peace with her smile. The party itself is a little uncomfortable, but talking with Sakura like this... He's honestly having trouble thinking of anything wrong there might be with it. ]

[Sakura feels heat rise to her cheeks.]

Ah, yes.

[She knows it'll be some time before she can return home. She can't say she's very sad about it since she doesn't remember all that much from Clow.]

[ He only meets her gratitude with a warmer and more genuine expression, nodding to her. It seems like there isn't much else to speak of, and if left to his own devices he'll probably leave the party pretty soon. ~~Not before talking to Fai though.~~ ]
