Fairies on a mission [Private Video to Mewtwo/Text - Open to all] Backdated to March 19th

[There's a short video showing prisoners in a cell. They look weak, scared and malnourished. The cell's door in opened and it appeared the lock was melt down.

After half a minute or so the angle changes and a young blond girl appears on screen.]

Further to the explosion of a house in Fayren, we ran after the culprit. We still haven't caught them but some of us found a cave in the forest. Its entrance had been blocked by yet another explosion. Those people were trapped in there.

We suspect the group known as "Hands of Decay" are behind those explosions, kidnappings and sequestrations.

We're going to help the victims out as much as we can but they need food, water and medical care. Fast. Some of them suffer from severe dehydration.

We're requiring official assistance. I'm sending you the coordinates of the cave. Please get back to me as fast as possible.

My name is Mavis Vermillion, I'm the founder of the Wizard Guild named Fairy Tail.

[Further to this, Mavis sends the following text message over the network.]

Would any healer living in Fayren be available now? This is an urgent request.

Thank you.

[No more information, names or coordinates yet. She'll wait to see who responds to do so. Even if she already contacted the Deputy about this, a strategist like Mavis knows you always need a plan B.]

Ah... I'm a doctor but I'm in Genessia right now. I could get to Fayren within ten minutes, though.

That would be most helpful, thank you.

[She sends him the coordinates privately.]

[After two minutes, there's the sound of four hooves on pavement in a full gallop. Twenty minutes might have been an excessive max ETA.]

I'm just bringing the usual for fighting and trauma injuries unless I need to stop for something else...? How many people are needing assistance?

[Not that Chopper isn't fully equipped to deal with twenty people with normal injuries, dealing with the Strawhats means he can easily figure supplies for five people will cover one crewmate. He has supplies for either five or twenty.]

About a dozen of people.

Yeah, some have injuries. [Nothing too severe, though. Fortunately.] Food would be great too. They haven't eaten in a while.

Oh... Hmn, I'll see if some of the local life can bring some extras... If the patients are human it would probably be a good thing to get a fire going for cooking. Can you get drinkable water for them? Something to cook in would probably be good, too.

[Because birds bring nuts in the shell, mice don't bring cooked grain, and beaver don't deliver cooked fish.]

We can make a fire, sure. And yes, we do have drinkable water for them.

[She pauses.]

I'm not sure about something to cook in, though...

[Fairy Tail. He was familiar and had not had the best of interactions with them in the past. Hopefully their leader and founder would be more agreeable to work with...]

If they can be moved, I would advise bringing them to my sub-gate. I will bring what help I can to aid in the transportation, and set up a temporary shelter. They will be safest there.

Your guild is welcome to aid in the move as well, however I will say one thing. Lake Purity is a very special place to me and my comrades. I reserve the right to ask any to leave for any reason. I do not foresee this being an issue, but it is my home, and the home of others like myself who are unused to human presence and can be startled easily. I hope you understand.

[Mavis once tried to get elected as Fayren's guardian. So she's convinced the guardian and the deputy's roles are important. That doesn't mean they can do everyone by themselves.

They need help to maintain the peace in Fayren, keep people safe. And no matter how the previous interactions between Mewtwo and Fairy Tail went, she wants Mewtwo and Satori to realize that Fairy Tail is a good and powerful guild. Fairy Tail doesn't want to become an official force but they want to be recognized for what they've done and what they can do.]

They're very weak. I was actually going to suggest we move them to our Guild Hall. It can serve as a safe temporary shelter. It's big enough to welcome all of them and very close to where we found them.

If you agree to this, Fairy Tail commits to ensure their safety and to keep you updated.

I also publicly asked for medical assistance. One doctor from Genessia answered and is on his way. But you might be able to use your connections to help send more doctors or nurses our way, and maybe monitoring appliances?

[Mavis pauses.] What the Hands of Decay are doing is affecting us very directly and personally, you understand. [With them being mages.] One of the latest victims is one of our Guild Members.

This has to stop. Nothing matters more to us than the safety of the people in Fayren. And I know that's the same for you and your comrades. [She can't speak for other Fairy Tail members, but that's genuinely what she thinks.] That's why we need to work together.

I understand that this is a very personal attack, and I do not blame you for wishing to help. However, your guild hall is not as protected as a place like Lake Purity which is behind a subgate. The Hands of Decay will be physically incapable of entering the subgate without my assistance, making it the safest place for them. Lake Purity is an ancient and sacred place in my world, and its waters have powerful healing capabilities.

For instance, when I was attacked in my world - before appearing here - I was beaten, my power sealed, and I was on the brink of death. If it were not for the swift actions of a... friend... I would have died, yet the Lake's waters not only healed my wounds nearly instantly, it made me stronger than I ever had been. The effect may not be as pronounced on humans, but it is the best option I believe.

I already have a wealth of monitoring devices within my sanctuary that can be re-purposed for medical applications, and the berries I have been growing have a number of medicinal uses aside from being easily ingested nutrition.

As for stopping them... I have a plan that I have been working on, one that would not have been possible without the assistance of one of your own. The details of which I would discuss in private and in person, if you wish to offer your aid.

I am nearing your location now, so we can converse further without these devices.

[And sure enough, he would be arriving fairly soon with Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur in tow.]

I do not believe the mages that were already abducted are of interest to the Hands of Decay anymore... [She briefly looked away, her fist clenching.] Some of them were already dead when we found them.

[She looks back at the victims who made it out alive.] Some definitely need immediate assistance before they can be taken anywhere. Then maybe we should simply let them choose where they want to go... [They went under enough hardships already.]

That's good to know. [She said about the monitoring devices.] Those berries sound like they could help those poor people a lot.

[Mavis nods and offers a small smile.] I do. I'll be waiting.

[When she sees them arrive, she would stand from the place where she was kneeling, helping one of the victims to drink some water. Then she would walk towards Mewtwo and the other three pokemon with it.]

Hi! Nice to meet you in person. [She nodded politely in greeting. It showed she was eager to hear about his plan.]

[Mewtwo takes a moment to make some gestures as the three Pokemon set out to perform tasks assigned to them. Charizard taking to the skies, making a wide circle, keeping his eyes out for any suspicious movement, Venusaur moved over to where the victims were being tended to, a pair of vines looping around berries that had been carried in crates on its back, passing them out to victim and rescuer alike. Blastoise, however began walking around the perimeter of the area, like Charizard, looking for activity, though in a more immediate area.]

[Mewtwo nodded slightly, as his device floated to position itself in front of his chest, his voice speaking through it rather than anything audible.]

Before I plead my case further, I would like to propose something. I am physically incapable of audible speech, this device translates my thoughts. However, what I am about to propose, I would like no audible or digital record of. I would like to speak to your mind directly.

[Mavis knew about Pokémons since the event that happened in Genessia and she was even allowed to keep one herself. She was kinda fascinating by them, they were so smart... and cute.

Mewtwo and his friends were a lot bigger and more similar to dragons that any other Pokémon she'd seen before, though. She let Mewtwo give his orders and came closer to Venusaur, pointing at the victims who needed the berries the most.

Then she walked back to Mewtwo. She titled her head in surprise as he said he wasn't able of audible speech. She hadn't realized that as they were talking over the device.]

Speak to my mind?

[Mavis pondered this request.]

I would be okay with that but I have two questions. First, how does it work? Are you simply projecting thoughts? [Or was he going to enter her mind in anyway? Mavis was willing to trust him but she couldn't ignore basic caution.]

And second, will I be able to answer the same way? [Because if not, it kinda defeated the purpose, didn't it?]

[There was a pause as Mewtwo sought the words to describe the sensation in a way that would relatable to a non-psychic.]

It is... difficult to put into words. The simplest way of describing telepathy as something akin to the private feeds these devices can achieve, only far more personal and direct. When establishing a telepathic link, you would be able to respond in kind, yes, and nothing you think that isn't directed specifically at me would be readable without conscious effort on my part, and I have no interest in invading your privacy in that regard. That said, for your peace of mind, should I attempt something akin to that, my eyes will glow, alerting you that my powers were in use. A telepathic link can also be cut at any point by either party with a simple thought.

[Mavis listened very carefully. As far as she could tell, Mewtwo's ability had to be similar to Warren's telepathy. Everything he was saying seemed to confirm that and he was providing enough guarantees for her to be willing to try. Besides, you can't expect someone to trust you if you don't show you're willing to trust them too.

Mavis nodded.] Okay. I guess you should be the one establishing the link, then.

[Mewtwo nods, his device settling into an orbit around him rather than being locked in a single point in front of his chest. When he speaks again, there is an immediate shift in his tone. His voice is far more confident and the words flow as naturally as anyone speaks. While the device offered a fairly natural sounding translation, it would become clear he's far more comfortable with this.]

I appreciate your cooperation in this regard. The primary issue I wished to speak with you in private about was the poison being used on the victims here. I have a vast knowledge of human and Pokemon biology alike, going so far as to perfect technologies in genetics that humans have not been able to grasp. For that reason I would like to study the effects the poison had on the victims, their memories of the poison for any clues as to what makes up the poison, in an attempt to reverse engineer a cure or at the very least a vaccine.

This would - of course - make them targets again should the Hands of Decay catch wind of this, and I would like to offer whatever security I can when dealing with this sensitive matter.

Of course, should the victims refuse this, I cannot stop them and nothing would be done without their consent. I know far too intimately what it is like to be a science experiment and would not wish further duress on them.

[Mavis immediately noticed the difference in his tone, the confidence, the ease. She hadn't realized that before but it must have been somewhat frustrating for Mewtwo to have to use the device to be able to communicate with anyone who wasn't a Pokemon.]

You're right, curing them would make them targets for the Hands of Decay again but it's not a reason not do it. It's our role to protect them and ensure they won't be victims of the Hands or of any similar group or individuals ever again. Their safety is our priority but their mages and they can never feel whole again until we give them their magic back.

What do you need to be able to create that vaccine? A blood sample or would saliva be enough?

I can try to talk to them. But it shall be their decision.

[Even among Pokemon there are those he can't communicate with, but this was far more natural to him.]

Ideally, I would like to monitor and examine them. If I can find a biological link between them and their power, I could - theoretically - directly heal that damage. However, I understand that is asking an awful lot of someone who has been through that ordeal.

That said, blood samples would be the most beneficial in my research. I appreciate your aid in this.

There is another point I would like to address while we have this link in place. Through my own efforts, I have ruled out the Hands of Decay having any strongholds within the city limits, making the surrounding area my next point of searching. However, my Guardian Satori and myself do not have the power to erect barriers around the city to monitor potential Hands operatives entering and exiting. Do any of your guild have such abilities?

You could? Is this part of your natural abilities to heal other beings by reversing what happened to them, then?

I can't tell you that they'll be willing to come with you. They've been through a lot. In my opinion, they might be more likely to wish to be taken to a hospital where their family and friends can come visit them.

But I'll do my best about the blood samples.

[She listens to what he says next and ponders this.] I know people from my world who could but they're not present here right now, unfortunately. That said, members of my guild who are currently here have erected magical barriers to protect Fairy Haven. They've had help to do so too. I can certainly ask them if they think such monitoring barriers are feasible. [A whole city is quite bigger in terms of scale than a Guild Hall but she trusts her guild members. Nothing is impossible to Fairy Tail when they put their minds into it.]

But how would they know what to monitor? Did you manage to figure out anything the Hands operatives have in common?

It is not a natural ability, no. However, given my unique origins, I have an intimate knowledge of how the human body works down to a molecular level. If I can isolate the cause of the damage, I should be able to find a way to reverse the damage through medicine.

I understand, and cannot blame them. Being treated this way is... barbaric to put it nicely.

Guardian Satori and myself have been conducting numerous scans, surveys, and other such information gathering procedures throughout the last few months, and have now ascertained that the Hands of Decay are not staying within the city limits. My plan is to simply close off the vast majority of entrances to the city proper, and screen any that attempt to gain access into the city if they haven't been within the city for the last 24 hours. That is, unless some sort of identifier can be found through magical or psychic means.

It also means that in the very near future I will be leading searches into the surrounding areas in an attempt to find their hideouts. Once the city's safety is assured, I intend to crush them swiftly.
