[ As her face appears on screen, Winter's expression is stern; if not a touch annoyed with her pale blue eyes piercing and cold. Like they could freeze anyone they fixed themselves on. By the look of it, arms crossed over her chest and visible from where the device was recording her from. ]

It has come to my attention that a lot of people have things to say regarding Weiss Schnee and how she has been doing things in this world.

[ There's a bite of harshness in her voice then. ]

I have looked through that anonymous 'chat' and see a lot of you cannot put your true feelings out there without wearing a face of anonymity. How cowardly. So with that said, I will put this out there without hiding.

[ Winter clears her throat, eyes narrowing a touch and completely unafraid. She can be a little reckless - as most Schnees tend to be - and as such does not exclude her from this and may likely regret it but for now she can't let this slide. ]

ANYONE who has an issue with my sister or anything that she's involved in will take it up with me before choosing to engage with her in any way or form. This is non-negotiable so if any of you are not weak-kneed and cowardly enough to shy away then come forwards and I will deal with you without fear.

[ Come at her. Really. She's sick of the people talking smack about her baby sis, and even if the younger Schnee can take care of herself, it didn't mean she was going to sit by and let people do whatever they wanted. ~~This was necessary, Weiss.~~ ]

I get standing up for your own blood, but you calling out the anonymous makes her look weak. That could embolden her detractors, vocal and otherwise.

My apologies. That was not my intention.

[ It's not a thoughtless answer; she does mean it. ]

I suppose I just found the idea of those people senselessly slandering my sister under an anonymous name disgusting and cowardly. What else was I to do in helping my sister deal with such individuals?

[A question he'd known was coming, but is still hard to be objective about when you've been in her shoes.]

Not to send the wrong message, at the very least.

Challenging her critics suggests that it's you they need to worry about, not her. That won't do. If people won't look up to her, they should at least know she's strong enough to hold her own.

[The tiniest reassuring smile.]

Doesn't mean you won't have her back, of course.

[ If people had the sensibility as this man had, then she likely wouldn't be nearly on edge as she currently had been with making this. He makes quite the valid points, after all. ]

Naturally. My only wish is to assist my sister in her endeavors, not to bring her down.

[ A sigh. Her overzealous nature had taken over before and she was seeing this now. ]

I am well aware on how much of a young lady she has become in my absence and I had only intended for good in her name but... got ahead of myself, I suppose.

So would a lot of us.

[But that's the perk of being an outsider: you get to stop others from making your mistakes.]

I haven't been here long, and I've never even met your sister. But I do know she stopped being a kid the second she became Nova City's Guardian. She either fights her battles her way or people start looking up to someone else. Never a good thing for an elected official.

[A thoughtful pause. Then, gently, because he knows this might sound presumptuous:]

Let her go, Miss Schnee. She knows you're with her, if nothing else. I think that's the most she can ask from you right now.

[ For a few moments, Winter goes quiet as she seems to let those words sink in. Supporting and standing by her sister was all she wanted, but this was sort of digging in the fact that Weiss had been here for a couple of YEARS on her own and made all of these decisions and choices on her own. Winter highly doubted their father would believe her even if she was able to tell him of how successful his youngest daughter had become, or how much she had matured.

In a way it does hurt somewhat to hear the man's words but at the same time, she understands it. She's a little overbearing but not stupid. This thought was enough to make her smile slightly and her shoulders relaxed a touch; if anyone else had told her this she may not have accepted it but there was a truth to them and how they'd been said that got to her. ]

That would be easier said than done. She's made great strides here and while she is still my little sister, I should stop trying to protect her as if she were still a child.

[ This is not spoken lightly but something that actually kind of stings to actually speak aloud and for that reason, she's thankful this conversation is private. Here she thought she had given Weiss her approval back home before the end of the Vytal Festival on how she was handling her life and then there was this. Solid proof that said otherwise. ]

I will still support her, do not forget that. Should an actual threat arise, I will lend Weiss my aid but do so as an equal.

After defending her like you did, I guess I should expect no less.

[His smile's more open now.]

I won't forget. I promise. As long as you remember that neither of you will ever want for help when the chips are down.

[And he doesn't mean from her colleagues or even those from her world. Evil strikes from where you never expect, but so does good.]
