[Troy had been working hard as a Deputy Guardian of Nova City. He has barely taken time off for himself and takes long hours each day. He may be stronger than a normal human, but doing the same thing over and over is bad for anyone. So pooling his vacation days into one week, Troy decides to take a trip to the Tokyo subarchway in Attleton. Clicking the video function of his communicator device, Troy shows up on video with his power armor helmet sliding back to show his smiling face and Nova City's skyline in the background.]

Hey, what's goin' on Genessia? So, gonna make this quick. Listen. I'm taking a vacation to one of the subarchways in Attleton for a week, to this little place called Tokyo. It's one of my favorite places in the world, got a lot of good and not-so good memories there. Though I'm sure the Tokyo I know from my homeworld would be hugely different from this one. But hey that's actually a good thing! I get to see the place for the first time again, and it will be fun to spot the differences.

Anywho, getting to the point, I know we have a lot of people from Japan in this world, and even if you're not, I'd like to invite ya to come join me there. We can go sight-seeing, go to hot-springs, buy cool shit to bring back here, or just eat different food. I've been training for weeks, I could use a cheat meal or two - or three. [It's been a while since the two spoke, so Gale certainly wasn't one to pass up the opportunity to flirt with Troy yet again, his eyebrow quirked coyly while he sat amidst ambient lighting of a soon-to-be-open club.]

Here I was wondering if you'd even heard of vacations. Glad to know you remember the definition of it.

[Troy smirks and did a playful expression in response to Gale's compliment. He chuckles after, shrugging at the fact that yeah he had been working too hard lately]

Having fun is something I'll do 'til I die, man. Can't work hard without playing hard, you know?

[Troy notices the background]

How about you? Still clubbing at this hour.

[Gale would tell him he's working too hard all the time, but Gale's also that kind of guy that kind of hates responsbility.]

Good, I was worried that I'd have to kidnap you from the Guardian's office and force you out for a night. But then that whole "kidnapping and thrown into a subarchway" thing happened elsewhere so it might have been in bad taste.

[And he doesn't want a tiny Guardian in high heels chasing him down. He grins then, briefly glancing over his shoulder and looking back at the feed.]

Ah, this? Technically not clubbing- yet. Let's just say Iron Faeries is looking a little better than it used to now.

Iron Faeries, eh? You're not getting into deals with fucked up people now are ya?

[It's kind of his job to keep an eye out for people, and Iron Faeries and the neighborhood it's in is one of the hot beds for criminal activity. He won't be surprised if he's gained a bad rep in that part of town with how many times he went there as Deputy]

[Normally, Clay wouldn't even say anything, but the space-age armor caught his attention. That and something a lot more important.]

We can just walk to Tokyo?

[The audio response and the question all points to one thing]

Lemme guess, new guy?

[Troy arches a brow.]

Yeah you can just waltz in a subarchway and you'll be on the other side like you just closed your eyes for a second and voila!

Yeah, something like that.

[Yes, Clay. What you mean to say is exactly like that.]

Are we talking a Star Trek holodeck, or are these places real?

Wait... Japan? Did he say something about Japan?!? Koishi responded the moment she was made aware.

"Mister! I'd like to go. Please? I'm a youkai and my home was in the mountains of Japan for centuries. I would love to go again. That would be so much fun!"

Undoubtedly bringing a Japanese spirit monster along might be troublesome. Hopefully people would just think Koishi was cosplaying or something.

[Troy arched a brow, moving his head back a little when he heard "youkai". So far he doesn't know what sort of youkai Koishi is, and her energy is kind of rubbing off on him already]

Please, call me Troy. I actually plan on taking a hike to one of the mountains there. Takaosan. You can tag along with me there.

"My head is broken and I have a hard time remembering names so I'll call you 'Mister' if that's okay." Koishi's eyes grew brighter. Literally. Even if he couldn't recognize her species of youkai at a glance, there were only a handful who preferred to live on mountains.

"Ohh! It would be so wonderful to enjoy a mountain again!" She looked ecstatic. "Sis and I loved to travel all over our mountain and collect and tell stories. You don't know how much I miss it."

Story-telling mountain-dwelling youkai? This would imply that she was friendly with humans at least part of the time. That certainly narrowed it down quite a bit. Perhaps she was an ouni or a satori though the latter were known for being quite aggressive at times.

Then again... she didn't really look like either of those things.

[Crystal is sitting in her newly acquired apartment in Nova City. A light smirk tugs at the corner of her lips as she replies to the handsome strangers video. It seems odd that he'd offer such an open invitation which is perhaps why she's so intrigued.]

I've always wanted to travel. [Sapphire eyes shine as she tilts her head to the side.]

I haven't been here long. Are there many of Earth's capitals here?

[She's more acquainted with New York.]

[Troy wasn't going to lie that he wasn't taken by the beauty in the screen who just responded to his video. His smirk flashes brighter. While he does think Crystal is good-looking, he somehow didn't feel like putting the moves on her. At least not yet]

That makes two of us. Sadly there's just Tokyo and New York available for us right now.

[He does plan on going to New York for his next vacation]

But there is also a gate to Dubai, if you want to step into the far future.

[Her eyebrow rose in a delicate yet curious arch.]

New York is a city I'm more familiar with. I'd be happy to show you around some time. [Though she wonders if it's merely a copy of the city or something more. She's still learning about these sub-archways. A light smile tugs at her lips.]

Dubai is in the middle east isn't it? I'd love to see it though I'm curious.

[She shifts slightly as if leaning towards the video.]

What year in the future?

[She doesn't even know who they are, but she couldn't help but be interested. She had always said she wanted to explore after all and this would be a good time as any, right?]

[He knows his world's version of Tokyo like the back of his hand. This modern one is different in many ways, but Tokyo's expansion is more vertical even in his world, so majority of the streets and tourist landmarks remain at the same place]

[Seemed like the best time as any and she was able to take time off whenever she needed it.]

[Troy gives a wry chuckle at his surprise to see Weiss respond. He honestly didn't expect it]

Is it wrong that I don't see you as my boss that much?

[Sure she's technically his boss, but he treats Weiss as a friend first before any hierarchy]

Of course, I'd be glad to treat my friend to dinner for once. I know a lot of places that you might fancy. That's if it exists in this version of Tokyo...

[ He'd damn well better. She's pretty sure she deserves that much, even if 'boss' isn't what she sees. She doesn't need to be the boss, bossy as she knows the can be. ]

We can't all be out of the office at any rate, but I'll let Artanis know to keep us on speed dial if something happens so that I don't have to interrupt your vacation. I'll trust you on the location.

Tokyo, Japan! It's not her city, but it's the closest anyone has come to mentioning it.

"Can I get to Tooya City from there?"

She hasn't been here long, but this is the most excited she's managed to get since waking up here. Was this her chance to go home? Or at least see it? The Archway things could only show a copy. It's not as thrilling as escaping Genessia, but even seeing them would be better than nothing at this point.

[Troy tilts his head, furrowing his gaze briefly. He never heard of that city name before, so his immediate thought that it could be a small city]

Never heard of that place, but the way subarchways and archways work is that you can't get passed the city borders. Even if there's a straight-shot train or highway leading to other cities, you'll just get blocked by a barrier.

[He sighs]

It sucks. I mean I wanted to go to DisneySea too. It has "Tokyo" on the name, but it's in a different city.

Can I call Tooya from Tokyo then? Even if I can't go, talking to them would definitely be better.
