Good day to you all.
[Sitting comfortably at a writing desk in her apartment, Cherise laces her fingers together and settles her hands primly on her lap.]
I've made the acquaintance of a number of you, but I'm aware there are many of whom I've not yet had the pleasure. My name is Cherise, and given that we've been encouraged to seek out a profession, I wish to not only introduce myself but to offer my skills as well. I'm prepared to offer a demonstration.
[She rises from her desk, picking up the radio to bring it along with her. A slender wand slides out of her sleeve and into her hand, and with a few quick words of French, she suddenly appears upon a cold, frosted hill in Attleton. The device is placed in the crook of a small tree as Cherise steps back.]
As a sorceress and Spellcatcher, my primary focus is on defensive charms and protective enchantments. Please observe.
[Cherise draws a pair of gloves from her coat pocket, separating them, and holding one out at arm's length. She points the tip of her wand at it, concentrating. A few quick slashes and curls, and she speaks again.]
Souple comme la peau, dure comme la pierre. Repousser tout préjudice qui pourrait venir.*
[There's a faint white glow that burns on the tip of her wand, then passes into the glove with a pearly shimmer. With that done, Cherise tugs on the glove and works it snugly onto her fingers.]
This particular charm I've just cast is one meant to repel brute force and extreme velocity. The fabric maintains its flexibility, but has been strengthened to resist damage. If nothing else, it's always nice to prevent unwanted snags, hm? But should something unexpected arise...
[Cherise whirls to point her wand at a boulder almost as big as she is.]
Venez!*
[The boulder upheaves itself lightning fast out of the ground, hurtling straight at the English woman. Her gloved hand is outstretched, as if she might prevent herself from being hit in such a way. ...And it totally works. The boulder rebounds and drops to thud solidly into the ground, and Cherise is forcibly moved back only half an inch. The tails of her peacoat flutter slightly with the impact, then drop back down to her legs once more.]
There. You see?
[She smiles, holding up her gloved hand and wiggling her fingers.]
It doesn't even sting. Of course, there are many other spells I can cast should you need them. It all depends on what you expect to occur, and being prepared for what you do not expect. I do hope some of you find my services useful, as we all must make a living in this bizarre place somehow. If you wish to discuss services and rates, feel free to contact me as you wish. My thanks.
[Cherise inclines her head, then reaches out to end the video feed.]
*OOC: Cherise speaks French but I do not. My apologies for any errors that may have resulted in my use of Babelfish.

Sounds good to me. I wouldn't mind seeing if I can duplicate that glove trick of yours, looks pretty handy.
[Nailed it!]

[Frantically she searches her mind, trying to match wits and come up with another pun. Something with fingers, or palms, or...or... It's no good. She's just not very funny. She sinks her face into her hand.]
Yes, it is.
[She sees what you did there, and it hurts.]

Let me know when you're free and we'll stitch something together.
[Guh. Okay, that one was reaching a little.
Ha!]

Certainly. I look forward to it.
[She gives a polite incline of her head.]
