It had arrived by surprise, with no explanation on why it was there, and no evidence on how it had arrived there,

Conan was not very fond of surprises.]

Somebody broke into my room and left a cake there. Does anyone know why?

Seriously? Seems like a waste of perfectly good cake.

[Unless Kid has done something weird to it, but she feels like he wouldn't do that. He liked Conan too much. Plus, he'd be the prime suspect and could probably guess what would happen if he drugged the detective on Dair's watch.]

Why would you complain about a free cake? Unless it's poison. I suppose that would make for a fairly valid reason to complain.
