Walkabout
Who? Ryuko and Open
Where? About the streets of Genessia City
What? Ryuko stretching her legs; lost in her thoughts. Come bug her!
[It's been a while since Ryuko first came to this place. She's gotten used to the different cities - but she like Genessia, best. It's big and busy, and familiar... which of course brought her mind back to her sister's place. That seemed a little too familiar for the moment, though. She isn't exactly sure how she feels about it.
She finds herself at the Hamete Strip Mall, eventually. Staring into a clothing shop, and feeling a familiar ache. She doesn't exactly have any spare cash to go shopping, so. She turned away to move on. She was fine with what she had, here. It wasn't like anything was going to change just staring into windows. The world didn't work that way.
Or the worlds, she guessed.]

Passing by the Hamete Strip Mall, she got distracted by the things in the windows she was quickly passing while flying on her broom. So distracted that she was almost too late in noticing Ryuko. Once she did, she gasped in surprise and steered her broom out of the way, comically spinning out and slowing to a stop a few feet away.]
"Oh, hello there. I'm sorry for almost flying into you."
no subject
"You should watch where you're flying that thing..."
no subject
"Again, I am truly sorry... I certainly hope I did not cause any trouble for anyone else, though."
[The girl dipped into a well practiced curtsy for a moment. The broom behind her eventually fell with a wooden clatter as it hit the hard ground.]
"My name is Anastasia."
no subject
[She looked Anastasia up and down.] Ryuko.
no subject
[Nevermind the extra magical power messing with her personality from time to time.]
"Are you here to window shop, too?"
no subject
She looked at the window, just a touch of wistfulness in her eyes. "Something like that. You do this often?"
no subject
This time is a bit different, though, as she went out to buy Nozaki's most recent manga. She's not very big on it really, but she wants to support it all the same. It comes to a surprise to Satsuki once she steps from the bookstore then spots Ryuko staring at the windows. In due time, she'd see Satsuki in the reflection.]
Ahem.
[Despite her usual flat, almost unfriendly expression, her heart skips a beat. It'd been a long time since they had spoken.]
no subject
So she stared at Satsuki. She shrugged, a little uncomfortable, face twisting up like it couldn't decide whether it should be a smile or a scowl so wanted to do both.]
...Yeah?
no subject
If you have a moment, I would like to talk. About us.
[There's a pause before she adds.]
Please.
Really sorry, June is the worst month of the year for me. :(
You telling me it'll go any better this time?
Oof, sorry to hear that.
[Satsuki tries to remain patient, but there's certainly an aura of annoyance coming from her. Which isn't fair of course, since Ryuko has every right to be pessimistic, or upset.]
However it is my aim for improvement; that has always been the case.
Once we hit the 9th that's the last really terrible date of the year...
What did you want to talk about?
no subject
My uncertainty is only because you-
[A gentle sigh passes her lips.]
That is, I realize that I cannot do this without your help.
Genessia can be a fickle world. I have come to realize there is no telling how much time we will have left together- and if one of us were to move on, without things mended between us, the pain would be unbearable.
Because.. You are important to me, Ryuko.
[It's odd for her to say; after all the two have such a large gap in their relationship, and she's spent so long trying to keep her relationships 'professional'. This world has slowly changed Satsuki's attitude toward a lot of things.]
no subject
[She slid a little closer to Satsuki. She still didn't know how to handle her sister, though. Not after last time.]
You have an interesting way of showing it. [Okay, maybe she was a little mad still. Satsuki had done a bit more than push her away last time they talked.]
So where do we start?
no subject
I will accept that I had that coming. So first thing is first; if our relationship is to improve, I will refuse to allow you to hold that over my head any longer.
[Satsuki raises her hand to her belt, then slowly unhooks her sword, along with its scabbard from it. She then hands it over to Ryuko.]
An eye for an eye. I can accept my punishment at the academy.
[Of course it is a bit of a bluff. She doesn't expect Ryuko to take her up on her offer. But in the chance that Ryuko does, she has it planned out.
Because of course she does.]

She drifted closer to Ryuko, reaching out and taking her hand. "Hello! I'm Koishi Komeiji! I'm Satori Komeiji's little sister. Please excuse Miss White. She's really embarrassed about the things she's fond of and tries to bury herself in work or manipulate people to hide her own perceived flaws Even when there aren't any. So don't be too mad at her, okay?"
She turned back to Satsuki, still smiling hugely. "You should be more straightforward with your sister. She's a really important person. Okay Miss White?"
God dammit Koishi...
no subject
Though apparently that hadn't stopped Satsuki. She was tempted to just take the damn sword and throw it in the nearest ocean, let it sink like her own blades had.
Then Koishi came from the sky, and she fell back with a start, crying out.
"What the hell!?"
no subject
That aside, Satsuki isn't 100 percent certain what's going on in Ryuko's mind but her expression remains neutral until the koiball appears and, long story short, opens her big mouth. Satsuki's neutral expression breaks in an instant, and her face feels very, very hot. If looks could kill...
Ah, right, this Ryuko has yet to have met Koishi.
"Now is not a good time, Komeiji."
no subject
And then back to Ryuko, the little youkai throwing her arms around her and... picking her up? Oh god. Koishi stahp!
"We're going to be the best of friends, okay? I'm Miss White's assistant and I help out a lot. But I wanna help you out too! We can be like one big inter-species family!" And squish! An overly affectionate eyeball pressed itself into Ryuko's cheek.
no subject
"Gah! Get her off me!"
no subject
That said, Koishi hoisting Ryuko into the air is a truly jaw dropping moment, though Satsuki really only just stares in disbelief before realizing that Ryuko seems.. Far more uncomfortable than before.
That's rather curious; is she the same as herself in that regard? Is Mako's affection as much of an annoyance? The question instantly brings a feeling of empathy, in which she draws in a deep breath then bellows:
"ATTEN-TION!"
In an attempt to calm Koishi the hell down.
no subject
"Yes Miss White! I'm at attention! I'm paying attention! See? I wanna help! You can count on me!" And so on, and so forth...
She wasn't calm, but she was at least behaving now.
no subject
She was just starting to pull the sword out, finally remembering she had it, when Koishi dropped her. She yelped, rolling on the ground, and coming up - lifting the sword, still in its sheath. "What the hell is that!?"
no subject
So instead she sighs. Why couldn't it have been Satori instead?
Satsuki eventually replies with the edge of annoyance still in her tone; first she raises her hand to Ryuko as if requesting she not attempt to slice Koishi in two, then her arms cross. "She is Koishi Komeiji, a satori youkai."
Spirit monsters known for kidnapping, raping, and/or eating travelers lost in the mountains.
"Long ago I bought her ice cream and she has since refused to leave me be."
Aww, Satsuki. That's just mean spirited. You're just mad she's practically your confident.
no subject
Either way she drifted back over to Satsuki, hovering a bit over her shoulder. "Miss White decided I should be a part of her elite group of people, pouring and smoothing out and running around once with a tap. Even if the others aren't here right now! She even gave me a pretty uniform to wear to match!" It didn't contain any life fibers. Not that Ryuko knew that.
"But even before that she asked me to help and so I watch her back. Because no one can see me." There was a bit of fire in her voice. "Because I know when people lie and approach her with hostile intent. And because I am a satori and because she is like the conquerors and warriors that would cross our mountains. And because I get to be a part of her story. Because she's my friend. Right Miss White?"
And then the speech was (somewhat) ruined as an eyeball settled on Satsuki's shoulder. At least it wasn't squished up against her cheek.
no subject
"So what's the deal with you too? You dating, or something?" Is that her attempt at a joke? Or a quiet stab at Satsuki, since she's not planning to use the sword? On the other hand, she ended up with Mako. Their dad ended up with. Their mom. Who the hell knew what sort of messed up romantic genes ran in their family?
no subject
Dammit, Koishi.
She raises a hand to her forehead, "Something like that." until Ryuko's question, in which she quickly looks back to the younger with an expression of complete disbelief. Her eyes are a bit wider than normal, her brows incredibly high and her cheeks. No, her entire face takes a sudden shade of pink.
It's difficult for her to tell if Ryuko is joking or not, but either way she ends up appearing visably annoyed as she eventually replies, "We are not." with an unheard 'God dammit' at the end.
no subject
"You're not dating anyone either Miss White. You should sometime. I bet it would be really good for you. Humans like going out with other humans, right?" The eyeball drifted up and nudged her cheek. "You'd be really good at it, I bet! You're good at everything!"
God damit Koishi... Just... God dammit.
no subject
"So you don't go on dates?" Maybe she should size up the youkai. Figure out what's going on.
no subject
"That certainly goes without saying," Satsuki agrees with Ryuko though it isn't necessarily true. Satsuki isn't very social but she's still managed to find herself in the company of oddballs and didn't hate it too much.
"I have been on a date. I would rather not again."
Mind, it was a date auction with Gamagoori, but no one has to know that embarrassment.
no subject
Oh, sorry.
no subject
...You okay?
no subject
[She leant over slightly.]
Were you looking at clothes?
Really sorry, June is the worst month of the year for me. :(
no subject
No problem. It's kind of normal for people to want to get new clothes now and again.
no subject
[Not sure she's ready to start clothes shopping, though. Not that she has any money.]
no subject
[She smiled slightly before looking in a window.]
