[ Mercury, never content to just start the feed focused on his face like a normal human being, instead backflips into the frame shortly after the video begins. What might be most surprising to anyone who knows him is his change of attire - instead of the same outfit he wears pretty much every single freaking day, he's in what appears to be some kind of uniform. Blue buttondown shirt, darker blue slacks and a hat of matching color, a nice pair of shoes... he kind of looks like-- ]

[ Mercury, on the job and dressed for it, is making his way to the addresses he's assigned to for the day with a sack full of letters and such slung over his back. Feel free to intercept him, or have him show up at your door with some stuff.

Or, perhaps, talk about delivering something outside the normal postal system. He's not opposed to some smuggling work on the side. ]

Cinder Fall is under arrest and in custody with significant evidence of her crimes in Genessia. She's shown no intention to attempt to turn things around and yesterday destroyed significant numbers of Nova City's police force. I thought you should know, and you may want to break the news to Emerald and Torchwick and Neo and whoever else was or still is working with her. I assume they're less likely to kill the messenger if it's you.

[ Granted, she's not actually in custody yet but if he thinks she is, there's a far lower chance of interruptions. She's dead right now so he knows there's no way that she'll pick up if Mercury calls, which will support what she's saying. She also knows Roman will back her up with Cinder suddenly going incommunidaco during the mission he was playing distraction for. ]

[ The feed is off for a bit - not because he's actively double-checking, but just to think uninterrupted. Weiss probably wouldn't bother lying about something like that to him - what would the point be? He's already made a deal with her, she doesn't need to lie to get any leverage on him. And Cinder hasn't really been in touch with him or Emerald for a while. Is that why? Has she been in jail?

No, if she was just caught engaging the police yesterday that's probably when it went down. Which means her radio silence up until then was... what? Just ignoring them?

The feed finally clicks back on, and Mercury's tone is blunt. ]

[ That response hadn't exactly been expected, but it's something Weiss can work with. She was more worried about what would've happened if he hadn't been informed until he saw it in the paper. ]

[ With the rumors people like Roman have tried to spread about her, she's not taking any chances with denying it. She doesn't know Mercury well enough to assume he doesn't actually think she'd want to do that. ]

"Nothing to do with her" means exactly that.

And yet I'm still going to tell you, because if none of you visit her, I don't want her thinking that it's because we were withholding information. I don't know you, Mercury. Not beyond that sarcasm and the fact that you revel in murder and mischief. So I'm at least going to make sure that you have the information in case you change your mind.

Why do you care what she thinks? She's in prison. Just let her rot.
