[ the young woman that appears on the videophone gives no introduction, speaking with the air of someone who usually doesn't require one. it's deliberate, though not at all arrogant. relena is curious to see if anyone does recognize her, for recognition in and of itself would be telling — and she hopes that they do, for that would mean weiss schnee's introduction was false and there's no need to contend with being a sudden citizen of another world. ]

I'm told this world is safe, and while mine may not have always been the safest, at least there I understood why I was being kidnapped.

Home needs me. I— I had a lot of work ahead of me, too much to get done. Being here is pointless. I should be home.

[Athrun frowns. He looks almost apologetic.]

I understand how you feel. I'm also needed back home, and it tears me apart to be kept away when I'm needed.

However...there is one thing working to our advantage. While we're here, time doesn't pass in our own worlds. If we go back, we'll end up exactly at the point in time when we disappeared, no worse for wear.

Indeed. In the end, it's best to avoid troubling them anyway. My own friends back home have far too much on their plates already without me adding more to them.

[Athrun can't hide the melancholy he feels when talking about his friends from his face. As much as he wants to avoid causing trouble for them, he misses them terribly.]

...That would explain it. You must be a high-profile figure within politics. I have to admit, I'm no stranger to it myself. My father was a world-famous politician, and I now am a commanding officer in my nation's military.

That being said, I genuinely respect your dedication to peace. I'd love nothing more than to never see war again in my lifetime.

I am, though it's a bit more than that. My real father was king of a pacifist nation that was seen as a threat to the new world governments that relied heavily on military tactics, something the idea of total pacifism did not support. Being his daughter, I cannot deny that a vast majority see me as a symbol of peace. You can see how that would lead to being taken captive and threats being made against my life.

[ she smiles at that. it's always a comfort to meet those who also dream of a peaceful world. ]
