[ Out of all of the things Weiss expected to wake up to on that fine morning, this was not one of them. She definitely didn't appreciate having to trudge through water. And this walkie talkie looked like it belonged in a museum compared to what she was used to. It didn't take her long to figure it out, though naturally her response to this whole situation?

Well, Weiss was definitely the type of person to complain. ]

I still don't know exactly what's going on, but these pamphlets are in need of serious restructuring! If you're going to make a pamphlet, at least make it informative. These would never make it past Schnee Company standards.

[ Well, at least she's not harping on being confused about where she is. She is confused, but the little flyer that she grabbed after getting out of the freaky lightly-flooded cave already covered that asking wouldn't help much. ]

...Is that really your biggest concern?

Obviously not, my biggest concern seems to be the apparent huge case of amnesia everyone's claiming I have but I'm not going into that with a complete stranger.

Do you believe them?

[Touma was well acquainted with amnesia. All his memories were obliterated during the aftermath of his spectacular rescue of a single girl. Even though she outright stated that she had no desire to speak to him about it, he didn't want to let it go now that she brought it up. He wanted to know the circumstances behind it and her current state of mind.]

Well they don't have a reason to lie and they obviously didn't talk to each other beforehand. Apparently I disappeared for a couple of weeks, then came back with no memories.

[He was already aware that people disappeared from here, but this was the first time he heard of someone returning. From what little information he was given, there seemed to be a connection between her amnesia and departure. A theory started to form in his head.]

I might be wrong about this, but you might not actually have amnesia.

[ She trusts her friends a lot more than a complete stranger, but she's not going to automatically just dismiss what he has to say. ]

[Good. He now has her full attention.]

Let me explain; remember during my monologue I mentioned how many of us were from different worlds and timelines? It's possible that the reason you don't remember being here is because you were never here to begin with. The "You" that is here now is not the same "You" from before. For example, the "You" from a couple weeks ago could be you from a future timeline. This could explain why you gained amnesia when you returned back here. Am I making sense?

Of course, this whole thing is just a theory. There could be a totally different explanation for your amnesia.

Have you ever heard of Occam's Razor?

[ It's possible, but frankly operating with the simplest answer first would make a lot more sense than coming up with a really complicated theory. ]

I have. This is just a theory I've made based on our circumstances and limited information. Don't take it too seriously. Unless we can find someone else that made a return trip back here, there isn't really a way to prove or disprove it.

Do you have any ideas on how you gained amnesia?

Believe me, I wasn't. I'm not going to sell into some overly complicated theory when it's entirely possible that I really did just get amnesia.

If I remembered got I got it, I wouldn't have this problem.
