4th Aura | Video
[When the video starts Jaune just looks tired. Tired and aggravated, and it's apparent in his voice.]
I can't believe I have to say this, but since there's nothing stopping people who have committed murder here from running for City Guardian, apparently I do. You shouldn't vote for actual murderers like Reiner Braun and Roman Torchwick unless you like the idea of trusting an entire city to someone who either admits they murdered someone and does a bad job of even showing any regret or someone who's questionably claiming they're redeemed after...a few weeks? Even if he does claim he's trying to make up for his mistakes, you don't just suddenly lose all of your bad habits like criminal acts in a short amount of time and try to take on that kind of position without an ulterior motive.
This whole thing is stupid. It's stupid. I'm done talking about it. Just...if you want to know more about the crimes they committed while they were here, I can answer your questions. I doubt I'll convince other murderers unless they want the position for themselves.

action;
[ Look there's the park. She did say it was nearby. ]
action;
[So tranquil. Such nature.] All right, let's practice our killing technique.
Re: action;
[ She says it quietly, then moves over to a clearish spot with a smallish tree in The tree is easier to hit than the rock. They can start there. ]
How big of a range do you think we should start with? If it's farther, they'll have more time to react and defend or move but the force increase will be significantly improved. On the other hand, short distance is going to have a much less damaging hit, even if it'll be more difficult to respond to in time to prevent the attack from going through.
[ She's taking carefully-measured steps away from the tree to measure the distance, stopping where she thinks Jaune should be standing and tilting her head. ]
action;
[It's mostly mumbled to himself. Arguing would be a bad idea and Weiss is right.]
How well do you think you'd be able to react if they moved? Defense might not that much of an issue depending on how strong the force of the attack is. On the other hand, we could make it longer, but also try to make it a sneak attack to account for reaction times? Even if a surprise attack isn't very knightly.
Re: action;
[ She thinks. ]
I think it's better if we get the shot without letting them move. I can probably use a glyph to alter gravity a little harder, but because I'd be using consecutive glyphs at intense speeds already it might not be a good idea to worry about turning just yet. Let's develop the foundation of the attack first. What if we tried 15 feet? I think you're misjuding how far I meant in the first place. 15 feet is about a second with glyphs without added gravity manipulation.
action;
15 feet a second? That's...really fast! [He feels more confident now.] I can keep my balance for a second.
Re: action;
It's nowhere near as fast as Ruby is using her semblance, but it gets the job done. [ She's trying so hard to be humble. That said, attempt at humility aside.. ]
Here, put your sword aside. Let's try it just with you and the first glyph before we try to actually attack anything.
[ Might as well make sure he can stand upright while moving that fast. ]
action;
They won't see us coming!
[He smiles, excited now.] Not stabbing myself sounds like a plan. [After putting his sword down nearby Weiss, he looks around cluelessly.] Now do I just stand here?
Re: action;
Stand with your back to me, knees bent and hold your arms like you would if you had your sword in them, then launch yourself forward as soon as you see the light of the first glyph and just try to keep your balance. Even if you get the initial burst without falling over, the gravity glyph at the end is going to be a rapid, short, and hard stop.
[ She's about 100% sure he's going to fall on his face the first few times. What she'll never admit is the number of times she's fallen on her face in private practicing new maneuvers. ]
Re: action;
[He doesn't mention how nervous he is that he'll somehow screw this up and fall on his face.]
Re: action;
Try the two-handed high offensive position instead of your normal fighting stance, Jaune. You want this to be a one-hit stab.
[ She takes a few steps back from him, making sure she's got plenty of room to summon her glyphs well or defend against other enemies than the intended target without hitting Jaune. ]
And you're right-handed, so I'll have to aim you... like this. [ Alright, that's decided. She's mostly just noting that for herself, since she's left-handed so she's got to be aware of her partner- even if it's a temporary partnership like this. ] Ready?
Re: action;
Whenever you are. [He glances at his surroundings out of habit more than anything, before staring ahead so he can react as soon as her glyphs appear.]
Re: action;
[ She'll probably make some corrections once he has the sword in his hand if they can get to that stage, but she just wants to amke sure he's got the vague position for weight distribution during practice. Once Jaune is ready, Weiss sends a stream of her glyphs in front of him for about 15 feet straight, ending with a large black one perpendicular to the ground. ]
Re: action;
He's on his face and he groans a little, even with his Aura taking care of the damage.]
Ow.
Re: action;
Well that didn't go very well. Get up, let's try again.
action;
Okay, attempt 2. I'll get it right this time. [Standing up, he goes back to his original position. He doesn't even bother brushing himself off. He has a feeling it won't matter.]
action;
Weiss follows him back, this time thinking for a moment. ]
You're a good dancer as far as I can tell. Fencing and dancing are similar. Think of this as a new dance move with a high-speed tempo. Mentally break the move down into beats and change your movements to that beat in your head. And bring your right foot in about half an inch after you launch, it'll help you reposition your body by freeing up your initial foot for a stop. It's a similar concept to a step-ball-change in terms of regaining balance.
[ Hey, she knows he knows dance. It's easier to learn when you can make connections. ] 4/4 measure. 1-2-3-4. [ And her glyphs are up. ]
action;
Weiss, dancing is one of the only things I can say I'm really good at with a straight face. [But it does make a lot more sense when she compares it to dancing. He nods, determination renewed.] Got it.
1-2- [This time, he anticipates the gravity glyph. He's prepared to face it.] 3-
[And then he hesitates because he suddenly has to sneeze. He hits the glyph like it's a window before his body hits the ground. He starts to get up.]
I was so close...
Re: action;
Weiss sighs, this time not walking over to him. She's thinking of what else to say to him, but honestly... ]
Honestly, it's going to just be doing this over and over until you get the timing right without distraction. And you may want to take some allergy medicine if you need to.
[ She's going to make him rerun the drill until he's still standing, then add the sword to the mix. Then they can try it with an actual target. ]
action;
[Treat it like dancing. He can do that. Jaune's so used to constantly feeling insecure that it's second nature to him, but he doesn't feel that way when he dances. He can block it out, and he trusts Weiss to pay attention to their surroundings while he focuses on defeating the Grimm in a one-hit stab. He can't channel his Aura through his sword, but he tries to channel it in that general direction, meanwhile moving to the imagined beat in his head. This time, he's able to focus, and he's accustomed enough to the strength of the gravity glyph that he stops in time, lunging forward and screaming as he stabs the imaginary Grimm.]
I...Weiss! I did it.
Re: action;
[ Weiss rolls her eyes, but ultimately moves on to focusing on the attack with Jaune. It seems like comparing it to dancing was a good call, at least in this case. Since this sort of attack, if done hard enough, wouldn't allow for an enemy response, she's not too worried about what sort of rhythm the enemy is on for this one. When he ends up getting it, she seems to visibly perk up in excitement, even if she's holding herself back. ]
Once we finally get this, we'll have to try again with one of my time dilation glyphs, since if we're fighting together there's a chance you'll already be working with it. That'll make you go at minimum double the speed while doing this, but we'll worry about that once we get the actual technique. Go get Crocea Mors.
[ They're moving onto the next stage! ]
Re: action;
action;
Something like that. I'm good at one that alters the speed at which a person can act within the same amount of time, so I use that one in battle fairly regularly. Blake is really good at handling it.
[ She's back in position proper and waiting on Jaune. ]
Re: action;
[He gets back into position.]
action;
[ She knows Jaune doesn't always see them practicing, but that's what it is really- no innate talent, just a load of practice. ]
Your balance is probably going to be a little off this time given the extra weight of your sword, Jaune. Don't forget to compensate for the change.
[ And 3, 2, 1, there he goes again! ]
