Some of you may have noticed that I haven't been around much lately. I have good reason, and for the time I was gone I don't think I was capable of fulfilling my duties as City Guardian or as a leader, so I'd like to thank my Deputy Artanis for taking care of things in my absence. I don't intend on talking about what happened with a bunch of strangers. You're not my therapists, and most of you aren't my friends. What most of you are, despite everything that I've been through in this world and my own, are good people who deserve to be safe. I think it's obvious that I'm not capable of doing that through sheer enthusiasm and ability. I'm relatively certain no one elected me because they thought I was going to be able to punch superpowered serial killers through a wall in the first place and make everything perfectly safe like that.

What I ran on the first time was creating teams and using my brain to come up with new ways to protect this city and its people. I think it's about time Nova City saw more of that, so I'm breaking Nova City into protective sectors and hiring more Deputy Guardians out of my own pocket. Being able to guard smaller sectors and call in backup from other parts of the city is going to improve security and I make more than enough disposable income and I can't see a better way to spend it than to make sure that you all know that even if I couldn't protect myself alone, I'll make sure that Nova City will become a place we can all feel a little safer again.

I'll let all of you know who the new deputies will be and how the sectors will be divided up by the end of the month. Anyone interested leave a private message, but I make no guarantees about who will actually get a job and who won't. Any candidates will be informed of the interview procedure just before it. No sooner, no later, and if they would like to withdraw their candidacy at that time they are more than welcome to.

[ Gee thanks Senji. Weiss isn't exactly going to talk about the other broadcasts either. She still hadn't gone home and she still didn't want anyone to know where she was. But as she had done in the past, pouring herself into work was the only solution that made sense. Especially when work, this time, was the only thing she could do to make herself feel safer.

It didn't mean she was okay, or that she wanted to act strong, or that she even wanted to pursue Battler. She didn't want to declare a war. She just wanted to figure out how to take a single step forward. It took her weeks of lying there on her side, doing nothing but occasionally breaking down crying, waking up screaming every time she tried to sleep, experiencing phantom pains for injuries that weren't there any longer, and trying to seek some direction from another one of the victims and ultimately just being agreed with...

She could either keep hiding from the world and letting Battler revel in what she had become, or she could find a way to move forward. There were scars that would never, ever heal, and she wasn't about to go sit on a merry go round and hope she would cheer up because it's fun. But becoming nothing because of that man wasn't something she could do. So yeah, press on and focusing on the present was the only way Weiss knew how to live with herself anymore. ]

[ There's just something about what Weiss says. Perhaps it shouldn't, but it does make her feel a little better about everything. Recovery is slow, and she knows that Weiss was definitely one of the victims as well, but... It makes it a little less hard to move forward when she sees someone else doing the same.

It helps that Weiss seems to share a lot of her ideals regarding protecting others, as well.

[ Weiss doesn't quite know what to make of that. That she's moving forward, still trying and that she wants to make this a safer place despite knowing that she can't do it on her own doesn't feel inspiring to her. To Weiss, it's her attempt to prove to herself that she can still try- there are things she can still do to move forward. The anon must've gotten something out of it that Weiss wasn't necessarily seeing and she knows better than most that you can't dictate someone's feelings, nor should you. They already had lost enough control over their lives to want anyone else telling them how they feel or what they should be doing to deal with this. If she was able to help someone just by not giving up when she wanted nothing more than to do so, that's fine. She's not going to step on that, even if she feels like this is her way of admitting she's not strong enough to keep trying to do things on her own like she has been. ]

[Karla is relieved to see a broadcast like this, especially after the reactions to her own broadcast. She isn't here to discuss it, especially since her point is now being proven with Weiss's announcement. Hopefully others will see it as well now.]

[ Weiss doesn't feel anything like what Karla said, so it's definitely not proving Karla's point if anyone were to actually ask. She's moving forward out of fear and rage and not knowing what else to do because she can't keep staring at walls and making Sun take care of her. Nothing about her is okay, nothing about her thinks she has the right to be okay or that she can do any of this. She hasn't even left the stupid house, she's just taking a step forward because there's nothing else she can do. She's not capable of protecting herself and she doesn't think she's strong. She thinks Karla's stupid for trying to declare that Battler would get what was coming to him.

Weiss is probably the opposite of anything that supports what Karla said, and she's still, frankly, a little pissed off about Karla talking about it as if her advice would change everything for anyone who had gone through that just because she had too. But what they'd gone through were very different things. ]

Only if you need me. I don't like the idea of feeling weak but I think if we stand together we can be that much stronger. [She knows it's a hopeful sentiment.]

[ She isn't quite sure what it was she phrased better. A cowardly attempt to take some of the pressure off of her by trying to surround herself by people she knows she can trust, new or not, by having them in an interview with a telepath so she'll know if they're lying? Everyone is perceiving this as more than it really is, but Weiss is glad. If somehow it's helping others get through it just by showing that she's not going to give up and stay in her sleeping bag staring at the wall with Sun trying to cheer her up, she won't knock it. Her own sense of self-worth right now is terrible, and Levy hits it on the nose. They're weak, but if they're together they're stronger. At the very least, they're less likely to get killed. ]

I haven't exactly gone to the office yet. Or home. But I will.

I'm not offering my services in the fighting aspect of protecting, but more... As the healing aspect. If that actually makes any sense?

If it doesn't I'll explain. I've been thinking about maybe setting something up like a travelling medical center. So the people you do make deputies if they end up hurt or injured then someone like me or someone else can be quick to respond and help treat them.

Because while security is important, so is making sure the people fighting are safe as well and of course this would all be paid for and sorted by me.

She knows she probably should've expected it, but the fact that someone from their world is still left standing with all limbs in tact and isn't traumatized beyond belief (though she's sure Nora's still on team trauma after what happened back home, just not.. afraid to go home and twitchy about the noise refrigeration unit condensers make level trauma like Weiss is). ]
