[Introspection]
[Only a few days ago, Simon had been released from prison and allowed to enjoy the freedom that never should've been taken from him in the first place. With that had come the challenge of reintegrating back into society; a challenge that he'd seriously underestimated. Seven years of death row had made him forget what it was like to live on his own- to have a future to live for. All in all, he thought it was nothing he couldn't handle. He'd been an independent, responsible member of society before, so he could do it again.
Today's events complicated the matter. Rehabilitating back into society is even trickier when it's a society one isn't quite familiar with.
Simon's first assumption had been that this was all a bad dream. His second assumption, which had been almost immediately brushed aside as impossible, was that it is some sort of bad prank. No one could set up a prank of this magnitude. Once he'd regained enough composure to leave the Bay, he'd listened to Weiss Schnee's announcement and stocked up on some of the map brochures. The first he'd picked up had been torn to shreds out of sheer frustration, but at least he'd had enough decency to pocket the newly-created confetti instead of littering. Then it'd taken another half hour of waiting and observing for the supposed reality to truly sink in.
If there's any consolation to be found, it's that Taka's here with him.]
[Action]
[With no choice but to accept that he's stuck here until further notice, along with an absolute refusal to use these silly 'videophones', Simon Blackquill sets out on a mission to explore this place. ...All of it. He needs to know just what sort of place he's dealing with. That's why, throughout the course of the day, anyone can run into him in any of the cities.
He's keeping to himself for the most part, but occasionally he'll stop to check the map brochure in an almost touristy fashion. Another thing of note is his tendency to throw rude, almost skeptical stares at anything he deems unusual, be it non-humans, magic or odd stores. He's not known for giving off pleasant vibes, sadly. As he walks, he's idly chewing the tip of a feather that's protruding from the corner of his mouth.
Meanwhile, Taka is exploring the area in his own way. The hawk circles above the buildings, peering down at the streets below and occasionally letting out a loud screech. He makes sure not to stray too far from Simon, though. Every so often, Taka will swoop back down to land on his falconer's shoulder, where he'll receive an affectionate scritch and a free ride.]
