[Introspection]
[Only a few days ago, Simon had been released from prison and allowed to enjoy the freedom that never should've been taken from him in the first place. With that had come the challenge of reintegrating back into society; a challenge that he'd seriously underestimated. Seven years of death row had made him forget what it was like to live on his own- to have a future to live for. All in all, he thought it was nothing he couldn't handle. He'd been an independent, responsible member of society before, so he could do it again.
Today's events complicated the matter. Rehabilitating back into society is even trickier when it's a society one isn't quite familiar with.
Simon's first assumption had been that this was all a bad dream. His second assumption, which had been almost immediately brushed aside as impossible, was that it is some sort of bad prank. No one could set up a prank of this magnitude. Once he'd regained enough composure to leave the Bay, he'd listened to Weiss Schnee's announcement and stocked up on some of the map brochures. The first he'd picked up had been torn to shreds out of sheer frustration, but at least he'd had enough decency to pocket the newly-created confetti instead of littering. Then it'd taken another half hour of waiting and observing for the supposed reality to truly sink in.
If there's any consolation to be found, it's that Taka's here with him.]
[Action]
[With no choice but to accept that he's stuck here until further notice, along with an absolute refusal to use these silly 'videophones', Simon Blackquill sets out on a mission to explore this place. ...All of it. He needs to know just what sort of place he's dealing with. That's why, throughout the course of the day, anyone can run into him in any of the cities.
He's keeping to himself for the most part, but occasionally he'll stop to check the map brochure in an almost touristy fashion. Another thing of note is his tendency to throw rude, almost skeptical stares at anything he deems unusual, be it non-humans, magic or odd stores. He's not known for giving off pleasant vibes, sadly. As he walks, he's idly chewing the tip of a feather that's protruding from the corner of his mouth.
Meanwhile, Taka is exploring the area in his own way. The hawk circles above the buildings, peering down at the streets below and occasionally letting out a loud screech. He makes sure not to stray too far from Simon, though. Every so often, Taka will swoop back down to land on his falconer's shoulder, where he'll receive an affectionate scritch and a free ride.]

Taka circles the streets roughly two more times, not recognizing Athena from such a great distance, before diving back down. If she can estimate where he landed, she should be able to find him in one of the side streets, perched on Simon's shoulder. As for Simon himself, he's a bit distracted at the moment, attempting to match his current location to the map.]

A-Athena! [No. This can't be real. Not her as well.]

A hawk? That's just...]
Awesome...! [Maybe it's lucky that Tori loves birds.]

no subject
Oh, is he yours?
no subject
Mine? A living being should not belong to anyone- Certainly not a bird as majestic as this one. Taka is my most trusted companion, nothing less.
no subject
It's far too soon for that.]Heh. That's a fair point, isn't it? Sorry about that. He really is one majestic bird, too!

Greetings, sir! You appear to be lost. Perhaps I can aid you in finding your destination?
no subject
He wasn't expecting to be approached, though, certainly not with a smile that bright. He's far too used to strangers giving him a wide berth, and it takes him a split second to remember he's not a convict anymore. While he doesn't let it show, it throws him off a bit.]
Much as I appreciate the offer, that would be impossible. I have no particular destination in mind. As it stands, I am merely... familiarizing myself with my surroundings.
no subject
Ah, I see. The layout of this city is fairly logical, all things considered. The numbered streets are in numerical order, for example, as they ought to be!
I suppose I am accustomed to places where there are few roads, and landmarks are more common than street signs, but t'was not a difficult adjustment at all. The issue comes with exploring all of the cities connected to this one-- which I have not yet done.
no subject
Connected cities... Are you referring to what lies beyond those 'subarchways'?
no subject
I've heard tell of gates beyond that as well-- ones that lead into worlds not unlike those we came from, though they are mere shadows and not the real thing.

Annnd that's because he's being watched. The hawk's been noticed as well, but she has no idea what a hawk is, so she pays it no mind.]

While Taka is still airborne and circling the city at the moment, Simon carefully approaches the lingering particles. It does look just like pixels. Some of them are already disappearing, so he stretches out a hand while he still can. ......No reaction.]
[ Action ]
That's Prosecutor Blackquill. Prosecutor Blackquill is here.
She nearly topples over at the realization, really. It's been nearly half a year since she's seen anyone from home. She's having a hard time controlling the urge to run over to him, instead deciding it might be best to walk like a normal person. She does not, however, stop herself from flailing her arms in a frantic wave at him. ]
Mr. Blackquill! Hello!
no subject
Simon watches his friend go, then turns at the sound of his name. That girl... Phoenix Wright's daughter, wasn't it? That's unexpected, to say the least. He doesn't return her wave, instead shifting his stance to cross his arms over his chest.]
Well, well... This is quite the happenstance.
no subject
Still, she approaches and smiles, unable to help herself. He might intimidate the others, but she's really not at all bothered. Of course, he's not threatening to cut her right now, either. ]
How are you? Did you just get here? I can't believe you're here...
no subject
He's having the hardest time remembering this girl's name. Tiffany? Trixie...? Hm. Ah well. If all else fails, he can default to a nickname and no one will ever know it was a cover up.]
I arrived at the break of dawn. It was quite the irksome ordeal.

Taka has been my trusted companion since he was nothing more than a wee chick. We have lived through many a challenge, him and I.
