ESCAPE ROOM DATES

WHO: Anyone who signed up for this event (sign-ups are now closed).
WHAT: Escape Room Dates, brought to you by Aphrodite's Matchmaking!
WHEN: Friday, July 8th around 3pm.
WHERE: Nova City, some warehouse-looking building.
WARNINGS: See individual scenarios for information.

All of the people involved in the escape room dates will arrive in what looks like some kind of abandoned warehouse. Everyone there is then broken up into the following pairs and walked into the warehouse, which looks a lot nicer inside. A couple of NPCs lead your characters to the right areas, then explain the scenario.

Once the scenarios are explained, the doors are locked and the scenario begins! RP with your characters and when your character decides to investigate one of the key items (listed in the scenario under your pair's thread) at which point put the item indicator letter in the subject line along with how your characters decide to interact with the key items! I'll reply with what information they can get from the item or what happens to the item based on whatever your character does.

"Special" events may happen throughout the course of the thread without prompting, so watch out for replies from Emerald. I'll be putting up the scenarios, but once your pair's is posted you're welcome to start the thread.

PAIRS LIST:
Peridot / Konoka

Luke / Adela
Bakura / Gale
Smoker / Relena

Being strapped with someone so much younger than him was hardly Tony's ideal situation for a date, but Satsuki wasn't someone he was minding too terribly for the sake of company alone. She let him run his mouth as much as he wanted at the very least, so maybe he would come out of the whole situation with the bare minimum of an ally of some sort. Considering how he was already on shaky ground with some and probably in outright enemy territory with others, friendship wouldn't be too poor either.

The wax museum thing was honestly pretty dang close to being in the uncanny valley as far as Tony was concerned, but it was easy enough to ignore even when things started getting a little weird. It was probably just some decent special effects that spooked a few stupid kids enough to start telling stories to other stupid kids. He was more or less oblivious to Satsuki's suspicions, his interest in what was going on around them piqued too much for him to notice any discontentment she may have been harboring.

"I don't know about you but I'm thinking that button is begging to be pushed so I'm probably gonna push it. I mean, it looks lonely and everything." There was the smallest of pauses. "Yeah, I'm doing it."

Tony didn't wait for her approval. Obvious buttons are too hard not to mess with. He casually strode over to it and held it down for a second before releasing it. Hopefully something cool would happen.

Satsuki furrows her brows as he pushes the button. It's hard to make a big deal of it since it wasn't likely to detonate anything but his rationalization does suggest to her that he may be more care-free than she first thought.

"Hmn." she ponders aloud. "These sorts of devices usually have a narrator do they not? Is this broken as well?"

She tries pressing the button herself this time.

Tony squinted as he listened to the speaker's message. Was there some kind of significance in the numbers? Seven then eight. The number of spotlights didn't seem to fit in any sequence, but the other pair could be purely coincidental. When all was said and done he looked a bit disappointed.

"So," he turned back to look at Satsuki, "am I the only one feeling disappointed here? Because that was kind of lame even before the giggling and repeating tick tock stuff started. The spark was cool for about .0001 seconds though. That's 0.1 milliseconds, by the way."

"I don't know, I'm thinking about numbers." He shrugged, deciding to answer before she asked what he was rambling on about. "Which is kind of why the clock has my current attention, but I made the first pick so I'll leave the next one to you."

"What-" 'are you rambling about' is what Satsuki was going to ask before getting an answer, and her eyes half-lid accompanied by an annoyed frown. However she quickly reminds herself to remain patient, it seems to be his 'thing', and it's probably better for someone to be talking rather than walk about in silence.

Still, she can't really answer his question. What was there to be disappointed about? "I am still unclear on what the mood here is supposed to be, so the feeling is not exactly shared." she finally replies.

That reply was kind of lame too, wasn't it? It didn't provide anything to the conversation; that isn't how small talk works. A bit embarrassed, Satsuki clears her throat before she turns to lead the way. "Anyhow, you raise a convincing argument. The clock it is."

He gave a small satisfied smirk when she proved that he had successfully predicted what she was going to say, but it faded a bit at how dry her response was. Did she not have any concept of good horror? Even cheesy B movie horror was better than this. At least it was still an experience...?

"I thought the mood was supposed to be scary but it isn't so your guess is as good as mine." If he noticed her embarrassment he didn't say anything about it, just nodding and following her instead.

Tony stepped pretty closely to the clock when he noticed the wax melted around it, but he pulled back at the number change and shot a look in Satsuki's direction.

"Eight keeps happening. Eight, seven, eight again but then down to six. The numbers are surefire significant. I think I can say that much, but their function is the question now. A countdown?" He put his hand to his chin, fingers idly rubbing against the coarse hair there as he thought.

"You suggest something this time."

"Mn." As far as she's concerned, the only good horror is when she's the one instilli-- Er.

Satsuki isn't surprised that Tony and herself appear to be on the same page when it comes to the clock, though when she hears the light click, her head turns in that direction. For the moment the heat doesn't register with her.

A bit to her own surprise, she doesn't find herself annoyed by the Tony's nudge to speak. And thankfully she does have something to say. "Well, I do wonder how the wax got up there. There was also the number '10' but I couldn't make a guess toward the function yet myself. We might as well just keep them in mind for now."

"That said, I propose we split up for a moment. I noticed the light at the case changed again- it's likely another number so I shall investigate that and you check something else? Then meet back here at the clock."
