[Action - Angel, mary] Fear my handwaving skills - also known as 90% of this post XD
[Backdated to turkey day.
He kicked them out of the Winchester house fairly early with excuses because (a)Yes, he still likes surprising them. and (b)He can't do the mass of shit he has to do today with them under his feet.
It takes him all day to get everything done he needs to, including three trips to the store because he kept forgetting things or running out (and he's about ready to kill some somebody in the store on the second trip, so the third is a brief and impatient encounter.
But he gets it all done, and he finally sends them a text to tell them they can come home now before collapsing on the sofa to rest before they get home. Now he just has to hope they didn't eat out. Not that, you know, he was exactly subtle about the fact he was planning something. Hopefully they knew him well enough to guess. There's a little too much here for just him. Or, you know, a small army.]

Stepping inside, Mary can't help a wide smile as she smells the scent of the food that was cooked.]
Dean?
Did you do all of this yourself?

He takes Angel from her gently] I'll put her on the couch for now. There's probably going to be enough left over for her, so we'll just let her sleep for now.

[But she's very touched that he thought to do it all on his own for them. Handing over the girl, she couldn't hep but smile warmly as Angel seemed to move towards him, almost seeming to know who he was.]
That girl of yours has more energy than any kid I've seen...though, all things considered, it shouldn't really surprise me.

[He kind of pauses, one bit of that getting stuck in his head.] I- She's- I mean, she's not mine. [WHY IS THAT THE ONLY THING HE CAN THINK OF TO SAY? Not least because it's sad that it's true. mind you, that's probably for the best and all... oh god. Okay. A breath, shaking his head, then putting her on the couch and covering her with a throw.] I think it's how much she eats. [He's mostly recovered.]

No kidding...I think all you made might last two or three days at the most between all of us.

Good. Mom, don't be embarassing. omg. :(
He's still pretty flapped, but at least he can talk about the food.] ...I think the shopkeepers are trained in mind control. Until I had to cook it, I was pretty sure I didn't have enough. [A cheeky grin. He's mostly joking. Mostly. Easing over his awkward at her comments on Angel and his lack of response to them. He gestures towards the table.] We should eat before it gets cold.

[Pausing to run a hand through Angels hair, she quickly decided to back off when she saw the girl start to stir.]
I still think you should have called us though. I think for Christmas, we should all cook.
[Smiling as she wound her arm through his, she started towards the kitchen.]

And then, after a moment, holds them out to momma. It's supposed to be an important thing, carving the turkey, so she should get to do it. Plus, she's probably going to be better at the whole carving thing, having probably had more practice for one thing.] Would you like to...?
