[There's the tell tale sound of a cigarette lighter and the sharp intake of breath before Ronan begins to speak.]

Anybody else notice how hot it got around here? I took a look around and the paper wasn't lying. It's this hot everywhere. I wonder if it has anything to do with those ruins they found over in Fayren. It's hard to believe this place isn't more connected than it seems, you know? What do you guys think?

Action | Office (Terra's Flower Shop, Attleton)

[Because of the sweltering heat, Ronan has decided to stay inside, in his cramped but slightly homey office in the back of Terra's flower shop, and get some paperwork done. As a somewhat pleasant surprise, business for his PI firm has been pretty steady, whether it was people, locals, or even the municipality hiring them, they were getting cases. Some of them were pretty mundane, but it was work, and it was work helping people, which is just the way Ronan liked it.

He's spent too long, in a life that seemed a lifetime ago, making the lives of people around him Hell. This was how he could atone, and it was good work, even if it was looking for lost kittens.

He'd head out front occasionally to check for customers while Terra was away, and to get some lemonade, because that's what weather this sweltering required: lemonade. Julia used to say it was a mandate. Who was he to argue?]

[It was too hot. Way too hot for a guy who for most of his life had been use to extremely cold weather. Fai really didn't know how to handle it, but instead he continued trying to go about the day as normal. And one of the things he needed to do was drop off some cases.

As he walked through the door, his he rubbing his brow with his free hand, cases in the other he started to walk to the back. As he managed, it was clearly obvious he could probably pass out at anyone moment, even if he was wear clothes that suited warm weather.]

Do you have any water? Before I give you a couple of cases.

[Fai looked rough, and Ronan frowned as the man walked into his office. He stood, motioning toward the chair on the other side of his desk, and nodded.]

Yeah, Fai. Have a seat. I'll be right back.

[He makes quick work of collecting water from the kitchen, the heat outside making it warmer than usual, even straight from the tap.]

You walked all the way here?

[Fai did as he was told, placing the cases to the side for the moment. When he got the water, he managed to down it in one before speaking again.]

No, I drove some of the way when in Genessia. Walked in Everglade which because it's humid was not the brightest idea. But they don't have cars.

[Ronan nods, remembering that about Everglade himself.]

There's got to be something more to this heat. I mean, sure, it's summer. Whatever, but I've never know all the cities to be the same level of unbearable at the same time.

Well I can't really sense anything magical about it, so I can't give you an exact answer.

[He wasn't sure about it though. Could be something blocking it if it was, but he had no way of knowing.]

I just know it hasn't been this bad in the two years I've been here.

[He blinks, looking over at the presumably younger man.]

How long have we known each other, Fai?

I don't know. A while at least, few months if not more.

[He was going to spend some time thinking about it now.]

[He nods, crossing his arms and watching him evenly for a moment.]

And why am I just now learning you can sense magic?

Because I never mention it. Never had a reason to.

[He smiled slightly, he really didn't have much of a reason at the time anyway.]

...we work together. I'd say it's important.

If it was magic related... I would have said.

[He pouted slightly. He didn't feel bad he didn't say though.]

Besides if people knew what I could do it would be bad, don't you think? Though, I guess I should have trusted you with the information.

...if the bad guys did, sure.

[He shrugged.]

I get your point, Fai.

Might as well keep one smoking gun from those who can use magic after all.

[He had placed the files down, stretching slightly before moving his head to look out. he was not looking forward to going out again.]

I brought you a couple of cases, payment will be given when they are done. Same amount as usual.

[He nods, reaching across the desk for the folders.]

Do you know of ways that won't cause me to get too warm too quickly?

[He looks outside again. He needed a way to keep cool while moving.]

Stay out of the sun, if you can help it. It's killer.

But what if it's midday when there is no shade?

Would love to, but in Everglade it's worse and I do have to go out often for my job. Not fun.

Doesn't mean you can't plan for it.
