[There's the tell tale sound of a cigarette lighter and the sharp intake of breath before Ronan begins to speak.]

Anybody else notice how hot it got around here? I took a look around and the paper wasn't lying. It's this hot everywhere. I wonder if it has anything to do with those ruins they found over in Fayren. It's hard to believe this place isn't more connected than it seems, you know? What do you guys think?

Action | Office (Terra's Flower Shop, Attleton)

[Because of the sweltering heat, Ronan has decided to stay inside, in his cramped but slightly homey office in the back of Terra's flower shop, and get some paperwork done. As a somewhat pleasant surprise, business for his PI firm has been pretty steady, whether it was people, locals, or even the municipality hiring them, they were getting cases. Some of them were pretty mundane, but it was work, and it was work helping people, which is just the way Ronan liked it.

He's spent too long, in a life that seemed a lifetime ago, making the lives of people around him Hell. This was how he could atone, and it was good work, even if it was looking for lost kittens.

He'd head out front occasionally to check for customers while Terra was away, and to get some lemonade, because that's what weather this sweltering required: lemonade. Julia used to say it was a mandate. Who was he to argue?]

Heh, it's a little hard not to notice, fain as I am to ignore the heat. I take Gengar with me everywhere now. As for the interconnection between all these things, you could be right. Or you're getting nutty in the manner of conspiracy theorists. Then again, I suppose detectives have to think that way.

[It was one of those times she was at least glad she wore short skirts and dresses.]

The only way to fund out is to go look, don't you think? That is what I am planning on doing.

[He shrugs, the sun bright behind him as he takes a drag from his cigarette on the porch. He's not allowed to smoke inside, which sucks right now.]

[He looks to the video feed.]

So, you're going to check out the ruins?

[It was too hot. Way too hot for a guy who for most of his life had been use to extremely cold weather. Fai really didn't know how to handle it, but instead he continued trying to go about the day as normal. And one of the things he needed to do was drop off some cases.

As he walked through the door, his he rubbing his brow with his free hand, cases in the other he started to walk to the back. As he managed, it was clearly obvious he could probably pass out at anyone moment, even if he was wear clothes that suited warm weather.]

Do you have any water? Before I give you a couple of cases.

It's not in Fayren too though I think it's just because it's summer. We don't really know where on the globe we are.

[At least not on this globe.]

I don't know if there is a way to escape the heat...

[Levy is currently fanning herself with a bookmark, her bright blue hair is tied back as much as it can be but she keeps it short so there is a limit to what she can do.]

[For the first time in a month Terra got a full night's sleep but she's worried. She's keeping a secret and while every logical part of her brain is telling her she should tell someone she can't bring herself too. She wants to make sure that Ronan hadn't noticed.

She collects lemonade and carrots on a small tray and makes her way towards his office. She's picked cool snacks thinking that it might help against the heat. Even with the AC it's uncomfortable inside.]

Ronan?

[She knocks on the door before pushing it open. A white kitten comes bounding in at the chance to get into Ronan's office and lay all over his work.]

Oh... sorry.

[She nodded slightly.]

I've always gone whenever they've uncovered new ruins.

[ Having a reunion of sorts with Terra after not seeing her for far too long made Jefferson decide to make it a point to drop by her shop in Attleton as much as possible to make up for the time he'd missed. He didn't have a particular reason or excuse for the first visit which would be the start of enacting that plan, but maybe not having a reason was a good enough of a reason. If that even made any reasonable sense.

A stranger and no sight of Terra wasn't exactly what he had expected when he opened the door and stepped inside. He looked a bit confused just for a split second, but wiped the expression from his face as fast as he could manage. ]

Uh, pardon me, but do you happen to know if Miss Branford is here?

[Fai looked rough, and Ronan frowned as the man walked into his office. He stood, motioning toward the chair on the other side of his desk, and nodded.]

Yeah, Fai. Have a seat. I'll be right back.

[He makes quick work of collecting water from the kitchen, the heat outside making it warmer than usual, even straight from the tap.]

You walked all the way here?

Do you know if it was anywhere near this hot last year?

[He shook his head.]

And I don't buy that. This is the first time since I got here it's been the same temperature, no matter what city we were in. Something's going on.

[He looks up from his paperwork in time to see the cat coming, but not quickly enough to keep it from being a jerk and laying all over his folders. He leans back in his chair, shaking his head.]

It's not your fault.

[She hasn't been looking well lately, but he figured it had to do with everything she'd gone through. If she wanted to talk, she knew where he was. He nods in thanks at the refreshments.]

You didn't have to do that.

Ever find anything besides knick knacks?

I don't remember. I hadn't thought about it though so maybe not...

[Levy frowns.]

Well its more humid in Everglade... but yeah, all the archways follow the same seasons.

[Ronan looked the man over. He'd seen him around the network but had never actually spoken to him. Anyone who came looking for Terra recently made him more than a little suspicious, though and he crosse his arms, tilting his head to the side, his eyes slightly narrowed.]

Not recently. Maybe I can help you.

Sadly no, just knick knacks.

I never have to Ronan. I want too.

[She smiles at him, placing down the tray within his reach and grabbing the cat. Howl meow's in a disgruntled way but doesn't fight Terra as she lifts him. He lazily rests in her arms as if he's just waiting for the right moment to mess up those papers.

He doesn't like you Ronan.]

Didn't mean to let him in though.

[Her fingers lightly run over the cat as she stands nervously in the doorway.]

I haven't been sleeping well... [She beings in a quite voice.] I've been going to the green house and pacing a lot... I wanted to make sure I wasn't waking you. If so... I'm sorry.

[He smiles slightly to spite himself. Terra really is too kind sometimes.]

Thanks, Terra.

[But his smile immediately turns to a frown at her words.]

You haven't kept me up, but...look. If you need to talk, you can wake me up.

Sounds like we're learning a lot.

[Terra quickly shakes her head, her curls bouncing with the motion before settling back into place on their side of her cheeks.]

No, it's alright. I was just worried.

[Her smile became wistful and yet her kindness remains evident in her features.]

I've gone for walks when I can't sleep. It's only nightmares, the same as before. [Just a little worse.]

I always have hope that maybe there is something within, but usually there is something one can sell.

[Fai did as he was told, placing the cases to the side for the moment. When he got the water, he managed to down it in one before speaking again.]

No, I drove some of the way when in Genessia. Walked in Everglade which because it's humid was not the brightest idea. But they don't have cars.

The same seasons, sure, but look back at the previous weather reports.

Worried about keeping me up? I'm fine. I'm worried about you.

[Ronan isn't a man who casually mentions being worried, or feeling much of anything, Terra.]

Really? Because they didn't keep you up like that before.

...and you just sell it? What about looking for a historian or something?
