[There's the tell tale sound of a cigarette lighter and the sharp intake of breath before Ronan begins to speak.]

Anybody else notice how hot it got around here? I took a look around and the paper wasn't lying. It's this hot everywhere. I wonder if it has anything to do with those ruins they found over in Fayren. It's hard to believe this place isn't more connected than it seems, you know? What do you guys think?

Action | Office (Terra's Flower Shop, Attleton)

[Because of the sweltering heat, Ronan has decided to stay inside, in his cramped but slightly homey office in the back of Terra's flower shop, and get some paperwork done. As a somewhat pleasant surprise, business for his PI firm has been pretty steady, whether it was people, locals, or even the municipality hiring them, they were getting cases. Some of them were pretty mundane, but it was work, and it was work helping people, which is just the way Ronan liked it.

He's spent too long, in a life that seemed a lifetime ago, making the lives of people around him Hell. This was how he could atone, and it was good work, even if it was looking for lost kittens.

He'd head out front occasionally to check for customers while Terra was away, and to get some lemonade, because that's what weather this sweltering required: lemonade. Julia used to say it was a mandate. Who was he to argue?]

Worried about keeping me up? I'm fine. I'm worried about you.

[Ronan isn't a man who casually mentions being worried, or feeling much of anything, Terra.]

Really? Because they didn't keep you up like that before.

Me?

[Terra blinks, surprised to hear that he’s worried. He usually tries to hide most of his emotions and while Terra has begun to peek through the cracks she hadn’t thought that he’d be worried about her. She’s always taken care of herself.]

I’m fine.

[That’s obviously not true.]

They did but it feels worse now. I’ve been getting up and talking walks to help me try and sleep. That’s why I was worried.

Not if you're having nightmares that keep you up like that, you're not.

[He looks up at her from his desk.]

Don't you think that's dangerous, considering?

Considering what?

[She doesn't know why it would be worse to walk around in order to tire herself but then Terra sometimes misses the obvious.]

...really? [He leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms.]

Considering you were kidnapped. Considering the bastard was never caught.

Oh... yeah.

[She looks down at her fingers.]

I didn't tell anyone but when I was there... I was able to hurt him. [Just a little.]

[He blinks for just a moment before looking over to her.]

...don't you think that's pretty important information, Terra?

In the end... it did little good.

[She swallows.]

He made me change back. [And she can't control it.] I'm sorry I kept that from you.

It doesn't matter.

[He takes a breath, looking around and running a hand over his chin before looking back to her.]

What matters is that means we can hurt him.

No one is indestructible.

[This Terra knows as a fact.]

And everyone has a weakness.

Right, I get that, but there are some people here who's weakness isn't very easy to come by.

He's able to fight against magic but...

[Terra lightly rests a hand over her heart.]

He was surprised and my magic... I think it matched his. I don't really know. It happened very quickly.

[She remembers feeling the stick slick touch of blood on her claws and shivered.]

He smiled when I hurt him.

[He scoffs, shaking his head.]

We'll see how much he smiles when we come back for him.

[Terra's expression falters slightly.]

Ah, yes... I should go.

[He frowns up at her, but nods.]

Call me if you need anything, alright?

I will.

[She flashes him a small smile.]

[He nods.]
