I'd like to address the cities as a whole on an urgent matter. [ the tone of this voice is the very definition of the term 'harried'. it is very nearly drowned out by a constant, excitable uproar that could only belong to a large pack of dogs. ]

If you weren't already aware, there was a break-in at one of the major dog shelters in the area. If you haven't already collected one, or assisted in returning them to said shelter, then I graciously encourage you to do so.

On the matter of collection, I also have with me a very large group of dogs in sore need of homes or relocation. [ some of that 'harried' is joined by a healthy dose of 'desperation'. ]

Any help would be appreciated. I thank you in advance for your time.

[for one reason or another, Joseph didn't recognize the voice right away. Audio does strange distortions and people always sound different over the phone. But it does occur to him as he nervously approaches Coby's door; nervously rubbing the movie tickets between his fingers and wondering how he's going to say this.

They're friends, right?

This isn't weird, is it?

He clears his throat and knocks twice only to notice the clamor at the door through the cloud of his nerves.

Oh.... oh hell.]

[ to anyone else, the fact that coby can even hear the knocks over the ongoing cacophony is nothing short of a miracle, even moreso considering how the entire mass, at once, seems to go absolutely wild. it's a very near miss. the path from his perch near the window to the door itself is a perilous one, made even more so by the growing agitation of the assembled.

thank goodness the door opens inwards, isn't it?

thank goodness the door has a chain. ]

Joseph? [ this, coming before the door is even open enough to peek out of. he doesn't so much as say it as he does yell. ]

[the dogs begin growling and immediately jump for it and Joseph backs up, tripping and falling hard on his ass]

M-maybe I'll come back another time.

[that is a lot of dogs]

[ it is a testament to his strength that he hasn't buckled under the weight of all these Really Intent canines yet..

Ah... ri--right... [somehow he hadn't expected... well never mind.] Look I um... I'll just leave these here.

[puts the movie tickets on the ground hopefully in sight and high tails it out of there as the dogs howl behind him. Why did it have to be dogs?

...After he was nearly back to the hotel, though, it occurred to him that he probably shouldn't have set both down.

Unfortunately for you, the young woman helping me out at work has more common sense than either of us and insisted on allowing only two.

It's not really the best place for them anyway, since we have to keep moving all the heavy metal equipment.
