Who: Lucy and Natsu (and later Wendy)
When: Backdated like WOA, 3/30/14
Where: Fairy Haven, the most happenin' guild on Earth!
What: Evil things. They.. they're just. Evil. So evil I can't even talk about it.

It's been a busy, busy few days at the new Guild lately! Finally dealing with the witch that had been causing trouble for their newly adopted members, not to mention Erza getting injured - not that it seemed to slow her down that much.

Still! To come up with a cure for the poison in Erza's system, Regina needed a special herb, which Lucy had offered to collect. Something simple and boring, she could get it and trot back before anyone even knew she'd gone anywhere. No harm right?

On her return, Regina had immediately busied herself out in the courtyard with mixing an antidote (sorry it kinda stinks out there right now). As for Lucy? Lucy was up in her room ~~plotting evil~~ modeling her latest acquisition. ... what, a girl can't go shopping?

He was only getting more frustrated by the moment and as such he was about to blurt something crazy to say the least.

"Perfectly normal my ass. If I suggested kissing right now you'd jump on it without blinking an eye!"

Some things are so ingrained into the personality that they surface no matter what when the right trigger is hit. Natsu's blurted comment was pretty crazy - and apparently enough to trigger that kneejerk response. In fact, Lucy's reaction was almost immediate actually; .4 seconds after he blurted that statement, it sank in, and her face lit up with a blush, and she pulled away automatically to blurt right back, "Don't go blurting things out where anyone can hear!" Honestly! "Besides, I would not, you're not that irresistible!" ..........give her a second.

... wait. Wait. WHAT.

Ohcrapohcrap what did she just say. No Natsu, IGNORE IT. IG. NORE IT. He's not irresistible at all! Also what the HELL is she doing on Natsu's lap? Taking a backseat to those two thoughts, she suddenly glanced down at her bandaged left hand, which was twitching uncomfortably. Augh, she wants to itch ittt. "Let me down already!" like she didn't choose to sit there, jeez some people.

...although it was more of a normal reaction than she'd had in the past few hours at least?

Shock and awe tactic worked! Though while she was blushing he did also notice that glance to her hand. So immediately he grabbed it again and reached out to unwrap the bandage on it, ignoring all of Lucy's protests as he did so with a determined frown!

"Hey! What are you doing? Cut it out!" Well. Not that Natsu is listening to her protests, but she protests anyway! And once her hand is unwrapped from the bandages, Natsu would see the skin along the edge of her left hand and palm was a bit red like a rash might be. There's even a teeny weeny tiny piece of thorn caught at the center of said rash there.

"Hold still!" He growled demandingly while he didn't take his eyes away from the small piece of thorn. She had bandaged up her wound ith that still there. that just wasn't right.

He held her hand firmly in his grasp before lowering his mouth to her hand. Yes he was going to extract that piece of thorn with his teeth.

Well something certainly caught his attention. Actually the demanding growl was a bit surprising, enough to get her to stop short and stare at him curiously. "Wha...?" Oh wait hay, her hand didn't look like that when she wrapped it. And she hadn't even noticed the thorn... .. wait. Natsu. NATSU there are tweezers people use to get thorns out, not your TEETH.

"Gh - W...what are you DOING? ... not with your TEETH..!" Sure he wanted her to hold still but how could she when he kept making her flustered like that?

"Would you quit your struggling and let me help you already!?" Natsu said and brought his teeth down against the surface of her palm. Not before his lips brushed against it though. After a few atttempts he felt something small but hard between his teeth and he pulled back, extracting the thorn from her skin.

But why with his TEETH. She swears it's like he's more dragon than man sometimes. As much as she wanted to squirm and fidget and pull away and flee, she managed to force herself to hold still with only a bit of a vague grumble.

Her hand twitched slightly first at the brush of his lips, and then again when the thorn was pulled out - don't swallow it or something, that'd probably be bad.

Cause it's faster and he doesn't want to leave that thing in her palm any longer. As for swallowing, no way in hell. He had a plan for it already. One involving taking the thorn between his index and thumb sniffing it briefly for any hints of magic and then burning it with a burst of fire before turning his attention back to her hand.

"We should get Wendy to look at this."

C..can she change first?

The thorny thing probably did smell a little bit of magic though. Which might explain the drastic change in Lucy's behavior at first. It'd be -crazy- to think she was doing all that on her own right? -Right-!

"Ah.. that's not -" Well she'd be about to say it wasn't necessary except it occurs to her that it might be. Also, Natsu would likely insist and drag her off to see Wendy himself.

Which was exactly why he burned it. Even so Now that she seems to be somewhat back to normal, his focus shifts back to the fact that yes Lucy is in his lap in a rather revealing outfit and he is holding her hand rather firmly.

"Uhhhh you still wanna go out looking like that?" Because it's...distracting. Really distracting.

That's exactly the focus she was hoping he wouldn't go back to! She mentally chokes at the question, glancing towards him and... that isn't a great idea either but she couldn't exactly -avoid- looking at him from her position.

...seriously this was just bad. The outfit was revealing enough, but the way he was holding her hand, and with her free arm around the back of his neck? Good god if someone walked in right now.

Oh wait, she's gotta use her words too, not just..look at him. Silly. "E-em, I... I think I should..change first." And.. NOT think about how comfortable she was on his lap. Or being this close to him period. Augh.

It was exactly because this was the Lucy he knew and cared for that the current situation was affecting him more than it first did. Something about that startled far away look and the blush in her cheeks and even the thumping of hear heart quickening.

"Y-Yeah that'd be a good idea. So um..." Maybe letting go of her hand first would be a good idea.

That'd be a great idea! And she should...move her arm from around him too while she's at it. And.. at least try to get off of his lap. ".. Yeah. I should..um..." move. Moving would be a fan-tastic idea.

... You can move ANY time now, Lucy.

Well to be fair he didn't mind her arm around his neck like that. It kinda reminded him of the last time they danced. And how close she had been...and how they...YEP totally had to disengage quick. They would be stuck here for another few hours if the didn't!

So with great reluctance he let go of Lucy's hand. She was still in his lap though. And he wasn't going to push her off.

Yes exactly! And that would be a terrible thing. Well..maybe not terrible, but being this close to him always made her want to be closer and...

OKAY YES, Moving. Moving is a thing that is happening. Except she was moving towards him. Wrong direction, sorry. She caught herself though, the blush only getting darker as she quickly leaned back again.

See? Totally not irresistible. She resisted right now didn't she? ... though it had been a very close call. Instead she braced the hand he let go of on the table in order to get up, even more aware of her new outfit and Natsu's proximity. Heelp. "I... um...I'm going to go and change. Wendy's..." Upstairs? She thinks?

Terrible wouldn't be the word he'd use. But they still had the better part of the day ahead of them. So they would definitely have to part. Parting did not involve her leaning into him like that though she quickly recovered. Phew. Must have been having a bit of a relapse but she snapped out of it.

"In her room. Uhhh yeah I think I felt her scent from behind the door before I met up with you. I'll...wait outside the door for ya." Though she still had to GET up so he could stand up as well.

Yes. Relapse. We'll go with that.

In any case, she quickly vacated his lap, wishing she'd kept the cape on. At least then she could cover herself better. She mentally cringed at the movement, blushing fiercely, but she nodded when he said he'd wait outside the door.

It was tempting to insist he stay put until she was decently dressed and THEN come up though. "Erm.. right." Right, right. She turned and quickly trotted out of the room, pausing only for a second when she reached the stairs to look at him. "... L..Look away, all right?"

Not that he hasn't already gotten plenty of eyefulls at this point anyway but STILL. It's different now. Now she's rational! kinda. And heading upstairs to get to her room kthanks. Let's..just hope she doesn't run into anyone before then.

He might have spared a glance longer than he should have but he quickly turned around when she asked him to look away.

"Y-Yeah just yell if you need help with anything." Probably wrong thing to say right now but he was already quickly making his way out the door before she could spaz out at him properly.

Good thing he was out the door after saying something like that! Even though he probably wasn't thinking too clearly, it didn't stop her from spazzing. So the door was closing behind him rather quickly, on her "WHat the hEll Natsu!"

Followed by grumbles of "Jeez! I can get out of my clothes just fine without his help. ... oh lord." She..just is going to stop saying things. Whatever had affected her might well still be in her system, ... maybe it'd be a good idea to stay away from him for the rest of the day after Wendy checked her hand.

He heard her yell but for some reason couldn't help but smirk a little as he leaned against the wall crossing his arms and waiting for his partner to come back out. Noisy weird Lucy was best after all.

So he waited, trying to filter out the intruding thoughts that came to him whenever he would think about what had almost happened.

Denial is on the menu for dessert today, and Lucy was doing her best to try and pretend what almost happened didn't happen. Not being very successful at it either, but.. well, one thing at a time. Once she changed out of THAT outfit and into one of her usual ones she gathered her courage, took a breath and... stepped back out into the hall.

At least Wendy's room wasn't far from here. "Okay, let's go." The sooner she checked Lucy's hand the better!

Isn't that on the menu all the time? Oh well. By the time Lucy came out he'd managed to compartmentalize his thoughts away from what had just happened. So he greeted Lucy with his trademark grin and nodded before joining up by her side.

"You remember how you got that wound on your hand?" he asked as they walked down the corridor towards Wendy's room.

Yes! And because Lucy's been making a pig of herself on it it's pretty much in short supply at this point. Tsk tsk, too bad. Only not really.

Seeing that trademark grin was always reassuring, though she still felt a teeny bit awkward. Taking care to keep an arm's length of space between them as they walked, Lucy glanced at her hand again, resisting the urge to scratch it. "I don't remember it having quite that reaction - or feeling that thorn at all, actually. I was reaching into a bush, and I felt some of the bramble graze my skin, but I didn't think anything of it at first." She'd just washed her hands and covered it up to keep the dirt out.

Natsu's been dining on confusion more than denial. This whole feelings beyond friendship thing was really damn labyrinthine. The urges didn't help either.

He noticed she was keeping a bit of a distance between himself and her and while he wasn't all that fond of it, he respected it this time.

"Hmmm. Well this place has a lot of magic creatures and plants so something that'd affect you like it did isn't that hard to imagine. Wendy should be able to fix you up though. Nothing beats her healing."
